Daffodil Daydream Silhouette

Happy weekend crafty friends. I've used one of my favourite techniques to add a pop of colour to todays card - Masking. I started by stamping my image, then coloured the daffodils - I used Stampin' Blends, you could also use watercolour pencils. Then I cut a circle from a scrap piece of cardstock and positioned over the stamped image (masking the remainder of the card front), then lightly applied Balmy Blue to the circle using a Blending Brush. Next I added Soft Sea Foam to the leaves, only colouring to the edge of the circle.  Then I stamped the sentiment and added Holiday Rhinestones for a touch of bling to finish. A simple design with a little WOW factor created by the using a mask #simplestamping Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month.  I’ve listed the products I used below, just click on the picture and be taken directly to the product.  I truly appreciate your support, it inspires me...

Hello Daffodil Daydream

Hello crafty friends, wow where has the weekend gone? I seemed to whittle the hours away yesterday, but was up early this morning for an appointment, then when I got home I went straight for the studio and combined two challenges for this creation: Colours courtesy of CAS Colours & Sketches and the layout inspiration from the Global Design Project For a while now I've been wanting to give "freehand" lines a go to frame an image, but I've always chickened out, but not today! I'm usually a straight lines & layers girl, but I must admit I do the the randomness of this frame, what do you think? I started with stamping the daffodil image and colouring with Stampin' Blends, then using a 0.2mm Fine Line pen traced the inner square using the inside of a square die, then added the freehand lines around the edge, not going over the stamped image. I used a sentiment from Forever Fern, stamped on a scrag of Basic Black Cardstock, white heat embossed and trimmed, ...

Daffodil Daydream

Welcome back friends, today I've used a bundle from the upcoming Jan-June Mini Catalogue - Daffodil Daydream. The stamp set features gorgeous daffodils, and a cute little butterfly as well as a stunning edge stamp. I just couldn't wait to use them, and the images have coordinating dies, so no fussy cutting, and also has dies that you can cut and create daffodils with out stamping - 24 dies in the bundle in total. After colouring the daffodils with light and dark Soft Sea Foam and So Saffron Stampin Blends I paired the arrangement with a sentiment from the Best Year stamp set (from the Annual Catalogue). I decided I needed another pop of colour so added butterflies coloured with Fresh Freesia and a touch of Balmy Blue, and some Matte Black Dots. The layout of my card was inspired by this weeks sketch challenge at the Global Design Project . Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month.  I’ve listed the prod...
