Thanks with Tropical Chic

As you might know, this month I have been exploring Designer Series Paper, I must confess, Tropical Escape is right up there on my "love" list, yes it does feature pink, but looking past that it has beautiful tropical elements as well as dots and linear designs for many creations. When I saw the sketch at this weeks Freshly Made Sketches , my mind went straight to the Tropical Chic stamp set , and as it is still July that means DSP in my project, and I opted with the gorgeous repetitive frangipani background for my project to tie in with the TGIF challenge too! I started by using a daubers to sponge So Saffron in the centre of my flowers, and then sponged Blushing Bride on the edge, repeating the process with Soft Sea Foam and Pear Pizzazz on the leaves, then cut with the coordinating Tropical Thinlets  - this is one of my favourite techniques for applying and blending colours directly on stamps. Next I created the frame using a

Mixed Drinks | #WWYS130

Welcome to this weeks challenge at What Will You Stamp? This week the set we are showcasing the Mixed Drinks stamp set . Being Australian, and having worked for one of Australia's brewing companies some years ago, it would be remiss of me if I didn't create a card showcasing "Beer" One of the things that my hubby liked when I worked for the brewer was that I would say can you get some stuff out the back of the car please..... and he would see an ice cold carton that I had collected for him! Masculine cards are not something that comes naturally for me, but this set is perfect and my card came together quickly.  Repeat stamping a sentiment is a fantastic way to create a background, combining the speech bubble and cheers worked a treat.  The frames are made using the Stitched Shapes & Layering Squares Framelits - they coordinate perfectly. Can you see to the top of the glass.... I used embossing paste to create the "head" on the be

Pretty Kitty | #WWYS119

Welcome to this weeks challenge at What Will You Stamp? This week the set we are playing with the adorably cute Pretty Kitty My daughter loves all animals, but especially cats, so this set was a must have for me;  here she is with our Ragdoll when he was a kitten The poor little guy had so many hugs and cuddles sometimes he just wanted his "alone" time to sleep, sometimes when we came home he would run off and hide, so it seemed fitting to make the below card I mask of the area where my main image would be placed and used the stamp-a- ma-jig to place the flowers that are poking out above and below the scalloped frame and the edge of the card. I used my markers to "roughly" colour the stamped images - I really like this effect, here is a close up I used Melon Mambo as a base and for the scalloped frame , and the Stitched Shape framelits are just perfect to finish of the feature image. I didn't stop there, I also stampe

Party with Cake | #WWYS76

Welcome to WWYS, this week we are featuring the Party with Cake stamp set. The variety of sentiments in this set mean it can be used for much more than birthdays, and the little candle and sprinkles can be used to create you own personal DSP too! Today I decided to focus on the Cake element, I somehow missed ordering the Copper embossing powder, but this week it was in the order I received, so i thought, hmm, I wonder,... chocolate icing? I decided to use Blushing Bride with Chocolate Chip to create an elegant and feminine card for something a bit different - I've used bright bold colours when using this set before. The background of my card is embossed with the Confetti Textured Impressions Embossing Folder , the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies  nestle perfectly! Then I created the Chocolate Chip stripe by using the Layering Squares Framelits Dies .  Come along and join in the fun with Party with Cake  - to see all the great projects from the Design Team and to

Tap Tap Tap | WWYS#66

Happy Monday! It's What Will You Stamp? time, this weeks featured set is Tap Tap Tap. Today's post is a little sad as the featured set is due for retirement in a couple of days, there is still time to grab it, so lets say farewell in style! I've created cards in 2 different styles. My first card has a rustic, vintage feel to it, the second features the same stamped image, but has clean lines creating a more modern feel. The first thing that came to mind when seeing this set was the old typewritter - I remember seeing these when I when to my Dad's work as a young child, and I do recall learning to type at school on a updated version (oh no showing my age!) unlike the computer keyboards we use now. I coloured the typewriter using Crumb Cake and an Aqua Painter, leaving the "paper" with the sentiment untouched.  To create an aged feel I sponged the edges of card stock, then I curled with the bone folder to give a bit of a "dog eared
