Snowman Season #GDP258

I'm playing along again with this weeks Global Design Challenge , a sketch this time, a great way not to start with a blank canvas (so to speak). I decided on a Christmas theme for my project, and was inspired by Charlet Mallett's use of shaped dies in her creation, here'e my card: I've used the Snowman Season stamp set, and mixed with Seaside Spray for a "icy snowman feel", and of course some Frost White Shimmer paint on the snowman  and around the edge of the card front (I just love this stuff). The Hippo and Friends dies were perfect for the lay out, then to finish with a little more bling with twine from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbons , Snowflake Sequins . Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month.  I’ve listed the products I used below, just click on the picture and be taken directly to the product.  I truly appreciate your support, it inspires me to keep crafting an...

Stampers Showcase with the July - Dec Holiday Mini Catalogue

Hello and welcome to this months Stampers Showcase of the July to December Mini Catalogue which features a bunch of new Holiday Season items, as well as some returning favourites. I've created a card using one of my favourite "go to" designs which is perfect for highlighting DSP, and one of the returning favorites in the catalogue is the Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper. For the card today, I cut a strip of the foiled paper featuring snowflakes, then lightly applied Blushing Bride to soften the stark white for my non-traditional coloured Christmas Card. After silver embossing the sentiment from Snowflake Season, then popped up the Blushing Bride layers with dimensionals.  And that's it, a quick and easy card that lets the gorgeous Designer Series Paper do all the work (with just a little help from the sentiment). Sometimes "keeping it simple" really does work! I can't wait for you to see all the other inspiration from the new catalogue in...

Slimline Christmas Layers

As 2020 continues as a year that I can not have imagined, I'm thinking its not to early to prepare for Christmas... as I may need extra cards this year, because who knows what stage of lockdown or restrictions we will be in moving forward? We hope less, but in the past weeks in Australia we have had a State go into Stage 4 - it is very odd to see Victorian freeways empty due to the curfews, when I lived there almost 20 years ago they were packed bumper to bumper. The first step for this card was to create the "greenery", I sponged a mix of Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz and Garden Green onto a piece of cardstock, then splattered with some water. Next I cut one of the edge dies from the above cardstock, then I turned the cardstock over and cut from the back for the second - this gave me "mirror image" die cuts. After embossing the sentiment (from Snowman Season) I decided I wanted a rustic feel for the card, so I tore up the edges of the Sahara Sand and did a little ...

Keeping it simple with Feels Like Frost - a returning favourite!

Have you heard, the Holiday Mini catalogue launched last week, and we are here with the Stampin' Dreams Blog hop to show you some of what is on offer - you never know you might even dream up some creations in you sleep too! I've gone with a super simple design using one of the returning favorites, and I love it just as much as last year - Feel Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper. I used a Rectangle Stitched die for the DSP to give a little detail around the edge, then after stamping the image I used also incorporated the Oval - I get so much use from the  stitched Shapes Dies set. And that's it - yep, super quick, and the DSP does so much of the work for you, you have to love that! I'm so glad this paper has returned in this years Holiday Catalogue.
