Wishing you the Best with Botanical Butterflies

It's another hot weekend in Adelaide.... so the perfect opportunity to just sit in under the air conditioner and craft... I may even have done a bit of craft room organisation too! So once my desk was clear I was ready to create, but no!!!! a craft blank - so over to challenge pages for inspiration, and Just Add Ink had a sketch that took my eye and I was on my way. I love flourishes, so the sketch had me..... I had a plan, but.. gasp, my Botanical Butterfly DSP was cut the wrong way, so I've taken the liberty to flip my design. Using the Foliage Framelits I created my version of the flourish in the sketch, adding a layer of white under the main die cut and slightly weighting the foliage towards the bottom. By matting with Pear Pizzazz and Basic Black it calmed the busy DSP. I was also able to break out my embossing mats again (its been a while since they were used) and would you believe they were exactly where I had left them, the first place I loo

Monochromatic Floral Frames

Ever had a plan for a project and it turns out totally different? Well, that's what happened with this project I CASE'd for the Crazy Crafters special guest Patsy Waggoner - you may be familiar with her blog Stamps to Die For , there are lots of beautiful creations, here's the card I chose to CASE (copy and selectively edit) My plan started on track, stamping using the Floral Frames stamp set and cutting the circular floral image, stamping and layering the sentiment, then stamping and cutting flowers.... my ideas was to stamp images on the background and layer with a couple of framelits..... But as you can see I got a little side tracked with the coordinating Foliage Framelits , so instead of stamping I created a monochromatic background with die cuts - base stamping on Soft Sea Foam, Pear Pizzazz die cuts and an Old Olive card base, with Powder Pink flowers. I think where my plan changed was when I used the Embossing Mats , I couldn't

Share What You Love #GDP148

Hello and happy Friday! I am "Sharing the Love" this Beautiful Day 27 of my DSP challenge! I couldn't resist playing along with Global Design Challenge 148 this week. When I saw the challenge, I knew I had to play along, after all this month is all about DSP for me! I adore the Share What You Love DSP, so that my base CASE element, here's what I was inspired to create: I selected a different design, I felt the need for some greens, and Mint Macaron is soooo devine, and paired with Tranquil Tide and Rich Razzleberry it is a pleasure to the eye. I used the Delicate Lace Edgelits on the Mint Macaron layer to coordinate with the pearlised doily . I wasn't in a fussy cutting mood, so I used 2 of the Foliage Frame Framelits to create the feature leaves, layering behind the gorgeous sentiment from the Love What You Do stamp set , and added some rhinestone jewels for a just a touch of bling. Thanks for visiting today, I hop

Love What You Do with Petal Promenade

This is something really special, this paper is so beautiful, just when I thought I had cured myself and was able to cut into my paper stash, Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper came along and made it difficult again!  Firstly, the gorgeous the colours, yes there are pinks, but there is so much more, and each page is sooooo beautiful, and so real.  Here is what I created using just a 2 inch strip of this gorgeous paper. I added mini ruffled ribbon to the side of the dimensional raised panels, coordinating beautifully with the colours and the petals of the flowers. Next I texture embossed Garden Green using the Foliage Frame Framelits (love this colletion of dies) using  Embossing mats , and next added a layer of lighter foliage in Pear Pizazz using the Botanical Tags thinlets - to get the circular pattern I used the top of the framelit with the bird, see the picture below Lastly I used the Love What You Do stamp set for the stitched oval sent
