Paper Bag Book

I have a stash of large sized brown paper bags so I decided to try and make a book out of them.

Folded them and held them together with two huge paper clips that I was kindly sent by Becky.

Next I chose some papers and trims.

I used the sewing machine and whizzed around the edges.

Using the largest zig-zag stitch on the machine.

Next I had a play with what I was going to do on the front cover.

As I didn't want to stick the tags in the book and buying self adhesive plastic sleeves was going to work out too expensive, I made my own from A4 clear plastic wallets.

I stuck them onto the pages using double sided red liner tape.

Here it is completed with all the pages tied together using the ribbons.

And this is the back. (Off cuts from the 12 x 12 pages I used for the insides.)

I extended the end piece so it was a better fit and wrapped round the laces.

This is how it looks from the side when tied at the front.

A view from the top.

And just a couple of views from the insides.

I haven't put any decoration on the insides as I wanted to be able to move the tags around easily and it turned out to be bulky enough without adding anything else.

I wanted to make something to put my vintage style tags in from the #fabtag30day challenge.

Vintage Style Toilet Roll Tag Book

Squashed five toilet rolls in half, painted the edges both sides with brown umber, raw umber and titan buff.  I also made five end pieces out of card to house the wires.

Decorated the pages.

Used some of the clusters I'd previously made.

A ticket tag housed inside one of the pages.

More previously made clusters.

Added some of the handmade embellishments.

And the back page.

The inside of the tags with tabs.

And the flip sides of the tags.

From above with some of the tags pulled out their pockets.

Vintage Tag & Postcard Book

Front and back.

Inside with everything inserted.

Tags out of their pockets.

Postcards pulled out of the side pockets.

Postcards with tabs and tags.

Backs, yes I know they are flowers but you won't see them, they are covering the pizza box up - lol.

Fully opened out. All made from recycled or scraps.

Indian Tag Book Part 2

The next thing to do was to put a backing on the tags using another piece of farbric.

And the same on the small tags.

Next was to sandwich the tag between the fabrics with the sewing machine - easier said than done, as you can see I went wonky and too wide down the right, but hey ho!

Having sewn around all the little ones first, I did get a bit better by the time I got to the big ones!

The next step was to add the couching to the edges. I have done this before, but looking back it was about 7 years ago!!

Once they were done I cut them out. I'm sure I could have got closer to the couching but I left a bit of a gap as I didn't want to cut into it by mistake and have it fall off!!

As you can see, I left some of the fabric pieces hanging over.

And here they are with their images on all blinged up (well not too much!).

And here are the little tags to go with them.

And finally all of them together.

I haven't quite decided how I am going to display them yet.

Tag Book

I wanted to play with my new Sara Naumann stamps by PaperArsty.

So decided to make a tag book.  I cut 4 tags to different sizes.

This is the full sized #8 one for the back.

I used distress paints through stencils, and brayered on distress stains.

Added various colours of distress inks and more PA stamps from the minis and LB range.

Idea-ology reinforcements and flicks of white Dylusions were added.

And finally I made a piece for the front with a mini tag attached to it.

And this is the tag book put together. You may or may not of noticed that the front piece is now the other way round. I messed up when I was punching the holes!!

PanPastelsUK have an anything goes theme this week.
