Halloween Atc's

I started off with stamping the webs in versamark and heat embossing with black wow powder. I coloured them with pan pastels and sealed them with a spray matte varnish.

The pumpkin is a rub on, the cat is a die cut and the spider is a piece of chipboard.

The skull is a piece of chipboard and the bats are die cuts.

I have made them for an atc swap with the theme of Halloween and I'm also entering into this weeks That's Crafty challenge of Friday 13th part 2 as I also entered into part 1 earlier in the year.

Happy 18th

It's my nephews 18th soon so I decided to make him a card. Background is embossed cogs on black card coloured with all the metallic colours of pan pastels. The image is embossed using wow powders in platinum and blueberry. The 18 is coloured with lumiere blue pearl and black fresco paints.

He won't take any notice of the front of the card, he'll just want what's inside!!!

I'm linking up to the PanPastelUk challenge which is celebrations using metallics.

Cards

Same technique as the previous cards but used Newt with Lunch Box character.  Again embossed and coloured with perfect pearls.

Heartthrob was stamped onto the card, masked off and Hero Arts birthday surprise stamp was stamped in salty ocean distress ink.  The same stamp was used in the panel of blue to lift off the ink.  The happy birthday is also a Hero Arts stamp.

Day 9, Tag #9

Hmmmm....tag 9, not overly impressed with this one either, but .... I loved Ted's attempt, so decided to go along those lines instead.  And OMG, how much bling.  For those that don't know, I don't do bling, but this tag was just crying out for it.

Fly By Tag

Angela has set this weeks challenge over at the Stamp Man and she has chosen butterflies and or dragonflies.  I only have one of each stamp so I was slightly limited, but I think I did ok with it.

Over on Grungy Monday #11 this week we had to use t!m's faux batik technique which meant heat embossing and then removing with a hot iron.

Try it on Tuesdays are asking for a tag and some butterflies, so this also fits the bill quite nicely.

I used weathered wood distress stain and pine needle, faded jeans, peeled paint and old paper distress inks to create the background.  The 'fly' images were clear heat embossed.  The flower images were stamped in denim adirondack ink and the words in olive stazon.  The melted embossing powder was taken off with a very hot iron and brown paper.

Things with Wings

This week over on Dragons Dream Tag It On, the theme is wings, so I couldn't resist as wings is one of my favourites.  I also got my new steampunk stamp this morning, so of course had to test it out.  The two guys are cut from part of a paperartsy stamp.

The Craft Room Challenge - 1

Zoe has teamed up with Julia from The Craft Room and set up a challenge blog.  They've been gentle on us with it being the first week, they've kicked off with a free theme.  The challenges run for two weeks, so still plenty of time to get your entry in.  It's well worth entering as there is a £10 voucher to the winner of the random draw to spend in the on-line shop.  Be sure to read the pesky rules though, as you need to display the logo and create a link back to your blog and the like in order to qualify.

Right to my piece then.  I die cut the wings, cogs, clock hands and circles.  Stamped, heat embossed, big shot embossed and painted the pieces.  Once assembled I added eyelets and hung the stamped image with a couple of pieces of chain.

Grungy Monday #9

Over on Grungy Monday, this weeks t!m technique is shabby chic.

Both the flourishes on the main background and the words across the front are done using the technique.

Write it - Post It - TIO

This weeks Dragons Dream - Tag It On theme has been chosen by Zoe.  I white embossed the main image and it came out really white and bright.  Normally I don't have that much success, so when I wanted it to look shabby, it's turned out near perfect.  I coloured the tag with various distress stains.  Stamped a set of pen nibs and postage marks.  Added some tape and a postage stamp.  Edged with black soot and added some fibres.

Simon Says Stamp and Show a Hand

Simon Says Stamp challenge is asking for a hand this week.  I decided to make an atc using the hand stamp from the Spirit plate by Creative Expressions.  I used distress inks crushed olive, tea dye and old paper to colour the background.  I stamped the image in black soot and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I created a mask and stamped the text from the same plate using rusty hinge over the top.  I mixed some copper perfect pearls with water and painted it over the hand to give it a sheen.  Not sure if you can see from the photo.  I distressed the edges with a paper distresser and inked with walnut stain.

Grungy Monday #3 & The Stamp Man

This week over on Grungy Monday they are offering a t!m product challenge, so you have to use the actual product and not a substitute.  So, yeah you guessed it, it's adirondack colour wash or should I say 'color' wash!!  I only have 7 of the colours so was slightly limited.  Mine is the old stuff in the 4oz bottles, but I'm sure it's more or less the same stuff else they would have changed the name.

The Stamp Man is asking for embossing this week, so I'm entering my tags into this challenge too.

Anyway I decided to create some tags.  The left one was firstly sprayed with butterscotch, the right one with terra cotta.  I then inked my new grungy alphabet stamp with clear embossing ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I sprayed over the tags again, the left with denim and wild plum and the right with cranberry.  I dried them off and wiped over the embossed areas with kitchen roll.  I restamped the grungy alphabet in pitch black adirondack ink on the left one and used stamps from the Urban Tapestry plate on the right and middle one.  I used black soot, rusty hinge and walnut stain distress inks to edge the tags.

The middle one was initially sprayed with lettuce, dried off and then stream was applied to to top and bottom of the tag.  The bird image was stamped with clear embossing ink and embossed with black embossing powder.  The top and bottom images and word were stamped in denim.  Hemp was tied around the tag.  It was edged with pine needle distress ink.  Fibres were added to all tags and a pin and disc to the middle one.

Brown & Pink

This is the set of atcs I've made for a brown and pink swap on KCUK yahoo group.  The backgrounds have been swiped with tattered rose distressed ink and pink sherbert adirondack ink.  I was very limited for choice as they are the only two shades of pink that I own!!!! No surprise there then!!!  The images are stamped in timber brown stazon, tea dye and walnut stain distressed ink.  I've also used.....wait for it.......Mother's Day Pink........embossing powder!!!  Obviously this is very old and it was one of the first embossing powders I bought, I did have to go and hunt it out!!!  It's got a bit of glitter in it too.  I think you can probably just see it down the right hand side of the boys forever atc, bottom left.

Triangle

My mate Maz obtained some triangular card and gave me a few sheets along with her Avant Garde stamps to try out which she got at the Doncaster Racecourse show back in July.  I slightly tinted the background of the card with antique linen distress ink. The sun, alphabet, one eye, two hands and the face in the circle were all stamped in versamark ink and embossed with T!m's distress embossing powder, vintage photo and tea dye.  I then went back in with tea dye and walnut stain distress inks and added more stamped images.  The word and the question mark images are from a paperartsy plate.  I coloured a piece of lace recently sent to me by SueP with walnut stain distress ink.  I sandwiched it between two sheets of card.  The bottom and right sides were paper distressed and edged with walnut stain distress ink.

Atc's

The backgrounds for these atc's were created using Eco-line inks.  The hand on the yellow one was stamped with black soot and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, the background was stamped in fired red distress ink and Vermillion Laquer ink from the Nick Bantock range. Top right was stamped with saddle and timber brown stazon ink. The edges were distressed witha  paper distresser. The frame for the bottom one is a prima stamp and was stamped in black soot.  I masked the frame off and stamped the art journey image inside of it with olive green stazon.  I stamped the diamonds along the bottom added the metal embellishment with a brad and used diamond glaze over the journey letters at the top.

Alphabet Page 'S'

I've ended up with 2 pages for the letter 's'!!!  The snowflakes are stamped and heat embossed with white opaque embossing powder.  The background is a mixture of faded jeans and broken china distress inks and denim adirondack ink.  The 3d snowflakes were cut on the cricut and covered with silver and turquoise stickles.  The letters were cut from the hippy chick alphabet plate.

The background is spiced marmalade distress ink with water spritzed on whilst still wet and blotted off with kitchen paper.  The outside edge stamp is from a green pepper plate, as are the skull and hat.  They were stamped onto white card and cut out.  The hat was stamped again, the ribbon, feather and safety pin added to it and it was layered onto of the first using silicone to give it some depth.  Large clear gems were used for the eyes.  A web and a few spiders were stamped from the Lavinia range in black soot distress ink, as was the letter 's'.  I distressed the outside edges with a paper distresser and inked with black soot. So I guess this 's' can be for spooky, skull and spiders.

Susan, thanks for your comment, I've now linked the 2nd page up to the Haunted Design House Challenge which this week is Elegantly Evil.  No sure it's elegant, but there you go!!!!

Alphabet Pages - P, Q & R

I'm hopefully starting a couple of courses around the middle of September, so I'm trying to get my pages done early so as not to hold anyone up just in case there is lots of 'homework' to do!!!! So here we have P for Prince, Q for Queen and R for Remember.  These are not due until January 2011, so I'm well ahead now!!!!

Autumn Coloured ATC's

This set is for another swap on KCUK group.  The theme is autumn colours.  Sorry the top two are so dark, but it's raining, the light is flat and I can't get a decent photo!!!!  And the middle one is caught in crystal so it's a bit shiny anyway.

Again I hope they are ok as this is the first time for a swap.  Stamping has to be evident and no peel offs!!!!  Think these fit the bill!!!!

Postcards

I have acquired this really lovely glossy card which is just about postcard size give or take a couple of mm's and I can't stop playing with it, hence all the postcards.  I used the paler shades of the alcohol inks for these ones.

Kath if you didn't think the previous one was a 'Sam' one then you won't think this is either!!!  I didn't buy the stamp, I was kindly given it, so thought I ought to use it.

The background image is clear heat embossed over black soot distressed ink.  The words have been shadowed with lake mist.
