Texture, Texture, Texture

Over at Out of a Hat Creations this week they are asking to see 3 types of textures in our creations.  I ran the tag through an M-bossibilities circles folder and coloured with purple pan pastels.  I die cut the umbrella man from chipboard and painted him black. For the final texture I cut a piece of honeycomb paper to create the canopy of the umbrella.  I stamped the words, cut them out and coloured them with a blue pan pastel.

So, just to clarify, my three textures are:
  • embossed background
  • chipboard
  • honeycomb paper

Whatever the Weather

Over at Stampotique this week Sue has chosen the theme of 'weather'.  I found this really difficult hence the reason I'm just getting in on the nick of time!!

I used the brolly from the TH umbrella man alterations die and honeycomb paper to create the canopy part. For the background I tried to re-create the colours in a storm (not sure if I achieved this or not, but I liked it anyway!!!) using the distress stain marbling technique.  Then of course there are the little Stampotique characters hiding under the brolly from the rain.  The rain drops are petals from a few flower gems which I'd never use!!

This is the brolly canopy from a different view.

One for the Boys

This week over on the PanPastel challenge blog their theme is 'one for the boys'.  The card was run through T!m's brick texture fade and coloured with various colours of pan pastels.  I die cut the umbrella man and gave him a honeycomb umbrella.  The nestie was die cut and stamped with T!m's quote.  The edges were lightly coloured with distress ink.

This week Simon says stamp & show has the theme of 'anything goes' so I am also entering this piece into their challenge.

Artful Times - Challenge 1

To get the Artful Times new challenge blog off to a flying start we decided to go with a free for all theme but whatever you chose it must be created on a tag. I used various mediums to create the background, dylusion sprays, glimmer mist and distress stains.  I stamped the grunge alphabet over the tag and hi-lited some of the letters with a white pen.  I cut the umbrella man from chipboard and painted him with black acrylic.  I used honeycomb paper to make the top of his umbrella more prominent.  I stamped one of T!m's mini quotes onto a nesties panel and inked the edges in black soot distress ink.  I coloured a piece of material with distress stain to make my own ribbon.

A closer look at the honeycomb paper.

Hop over to the blog to see what everyone else has created and if you feel inspired, why not join in.
