Day 15 Tags

A second flurry of oriental tags for the #fabtag30day challenge.

And I decided to change colours, blue and white and black embossing.

A smaller one.

More gold embossing on a black tag, with a hint of red and blue.

Heavily gold embossed in oriental script.

Vellum on the background tag and a stamped image with black embossing on gold paper.

And finally another blue one.

We are half way through, just another 15 days to go!

Day 13 Tag

I took some photos outside on the grass but then realised you couldn't see the tassels very well on the bottom.

So I took another one inside.

Another tag for the #fabtag30days challenge.

Again playing around with some handmade embellishments.

And I absolutely love how this tag turned out.

Oriental Embellishments

I've been trying to find some oriental embellishments but not had much luck, so I decided to make some myself using my stamps and embossing powders.

Used punches to shape them.

Found some images and printed them off on cream card, vellum and white paper.

And the same again but this time using script images, red card and red text on the vellum.

Vintage Embellishments

I found a free download so decided to have a play with some UTEE.  I haven't used it for ages, not since I last had my melt pot out.  I triple embossed the lower half of the picture with clear UTEE.  I left the top half until I need some more doing, as I figured I might use some somewhere without the UTEE but I did colour them all with distress inks.

Collector of Curiosities

I had to have another go with the correct colour of embossing powder.

Just added a chipboard quote to finish it off.

Atc's

Made a handful of Atcs this morning, I think I was half inspired byBecky and half by Chris. Becky for the atc's and Chris for the tag she did at a make and take on Saturday.

The background for these ones are earthy colours of pan pastel. I sealed them with DecoArt matte spray before I stamped on them. I dug down deep and found my box of wooden stamps that I've not used for a while, it was great to get them out again.

The two purply / blue backgrounds are again pan pastels and the one on the right is gelatos. The images are all stamped in versamark and heat embossed with WOW embossing powders.

And finally, these backgrounds are all gelatos and all the images have again been stamped in versamark and heat embossed with WOW powders.

Altered CD Swap

Over on Mini Marvels FB group there is an altered cd challenge for October. There is also the option of a swap.

Chose some patterned backing paper and glued it to the cd.

Cut around the cd, this is the back.

And this is the front.

Next I edged the cd with black rik rac, added some French themed embossed die cuts and a black rose.

I decided it needed a little something else, so added some white gems around the edge.

To hide the attached piece of rik rac for the hanger, I cut a circle of striped paper and glued it to the back of the cd.

PaperArtsy have a theme of die cuts this time around, so I'm entering my altered cd.

A Crackling in Paris

I painted an mdf plaque with new life chalky paint by DecoArt

Covered it in weathered wood and once dry gave it a coat of primitive from the same range.

And just look at the fab cracks, I haven't created cracks like this for ages.

Another close up of the fantastic cracks with the green showing through.

And this isn't what I had planned but I couldn't bare to cover too much up so I added some stamped and embossed die cuts which Lin very kindly sent to me recently.

I may try another one soon and do what I originally intended to do with it - hehehe!!

All mediums are by DecoArt.

Feeling Blue - Country View Crafts

I decided to create a frame using the negatives from the alteration dies arch and framed postage stamp and also a mini cabinet die.

I created a shadow box back from a piece of chipboard as I wanted to create some depth.

The images are a mixture of PaperArtsy, Lynne Perrall stamps - LPC005, 022 & 023.  The bottom left image is Dina Wakley's grunge tree. The main image was stamped in versamark onto glossy white card and heat embossed with black embossing powder and fussy cut out leaving a very small white border.

The images on the outside of the frame were coloured with the blues of the distress ink markers.  The image on the right was stamped directly onto the frame with black stazon and outline with a white posca pen.

The outside frame was painted with a mixture of beach hut and south pacific freso paint.  The inner (arch frame) was run through the cuttlebug script embossing folder, painted in baltic blue and hi-lighted with PaperArtsy pewter treasure gold.

I re-cut the mini cabinet die with blue paper and mounted it on the chipboard piece.  I cut a piece of patterned paper for the inside of the box and assembled the box.  The mini cabinet was adhered with 2mm 3d foam to give it some depth. The arch layer was placed directly on top of the box and postage stamp frame was adhered with 1mm 3d foam.

This photo shows the depth I managed to achieve using the shadow box and 3d foam.

I joined in with the Country View Crafts blog challenge in April and was lucky enough to be picked out as the winner of their random draw.  I won a £20 gift voucher and the chance to join their DT for June.  So naturally I accepted, the theme is die cuts and my piece has been show cased on the blog here.

Moth Fab Cards

I decided to change tact with my Stampotique characters and move from tags to cards, and from Artbars and pan pastels to distress inks.  I masked off a strip on the card, coloured it with 2 shades of green distress ink, spritzed a Hampton Art letters stamp and stamped it into the distress ink. The water on the stamp lifted the distress ink off the card.

The pieces of green striped paper are hiding little accidents!!!  The images were stamped on to a separate piece of card in versa mark and heat embossed with black embossing powder.  I coloured the images with perfect pearls.  You can't really see on the photo but they really do shimmer.

I haven't added a sentiment yet as I don't know what I'm going to use them for.

Flower Twinchies

This months twinchies theme on UKStampers is flower heads.  I stamped the flowers using adirondack dye inks and spritzed them with water to give them a watercolour effect.  I covered them all twice in clear embossing powder.
