Inner Circles

For this project I used the remaining circles from this set I cut.

I wrapped each ring in t-shirt fabric and black powertex. Once dry, I coloured each ring, powertexed them all together and mounted them on a stand.

I could have done a lot more to it, but I wanted to keep it pretty simple and straightforward.

Circles of Life

Using my polystyrene cutter I cut these circles out.

Set up the dining room table.

Added stone art to all the pieces, rubbed in, applied a second and third layer in various places, then sprayed with black bister.

Then I put all the layers together and secured them with wooden sticks. I made a little man to sit inside the smallest one.

Christmas Wreath

I started off with cutting myself a polystyrene ring with my new cutter.  I wrapped it in t-shirt fabric and powertex and left it to dry.

Once completely dried I coloured it with gold pigment to bring out the textures all over.

Then I started playing with some natural elements and arranging them on the wreath.

I didn't have a merry christmas, so I made my own.

I started to powertex bits down and then stopped as I had an idea of how to attach the letters.

Once I'd figured out the letters, I continued to use the powertex to secure everything in place.

Once everything was totally secure, I went over everything again with another coat of powertex.  I also used lime stickles on the letters.

And here is my finished wreath, I decided to go down the green and gold route although I realise you can't see it very well in this photo as it's so dark and still raining!!

And some more.  I used the gold first and then the green on top.

The Merry ended up too far to the left so I made some more holly leaves to fill in the gap.

And again, finally the finished wreath, which I am really really pleased with as I was meant to be going on a wreath workshop tomorrow, but unfortunately due to being in tier 3, it's had to be cancelled.

Halloween - Tea Light Holder

My nephew and his girlfriend have just moved into their first house together, so I rescued some pieces of polystyrene.

And as it's nearly the end of the month, I went for a Halloween theme.  This is the front with webs, skulls and spiders.

And the side with a skull and a web with spiders in.

I left the back pretty simple as you probably won't see much of it, but I did add gemstones in the eye sockets.

A mummy and a couple of skulls on the other side.

And as it's polystyren it's easy to cut into. I cut a hole in the top for a tea light to sit in.
