I decided to try and make some moulds from the wooden wings I'd order recently and then I put some clay in them and they turned out okay. As they are only very thin they didn't take very long to dry and I also put them out in the sun. The shrine shape is actually the bigger of T!m's houses with a panel cut out the front. I used DecoArt products to decorate it and all the embellishments.

'A' Layers and Layers
I took a cardboard substraight in the form of a letter A and gave it a coat of media tinting base.
I added modelling paste, crackle paint, crackle paste and texture sand paste mixed with ultra matte varnish very randomly all over the A.
Next I started to apply different colours of media paint starting with paynes grey.
And yellow transparent oxide.
And after lots and lots more layers.
And same for the other side with lots of quin gold.
Next I added metallic lustre.
I used champagne, orange flicker, turquoise and black shimmer.
I was very sparing with the embellishments as I didn't want to cover too much up!

Rusty Skull
This piece kind of happened by mistake. We bought a box of oranges and the lid was a sturdy wooden figure of 8, so once in my hands idea started flowing! Above is an mdf skull which was bought for me from MDF man at one of the shows. I needed a large focal point, so decided to use it by giving it the mega crackle treatment, followed by the rust treatment.
I added all sorts to the back panel until I got what I wanted, then went on to add stenciling in white gesso and then an Andy Skinner dirty wash to tone it down. I also added rusty wire and some charms which I'd also rusted.
The metal numbers started off as a bright silver, but again I aged and rusted them.
Rusted more charms, a skull, flower and couple of leaves.
Rusty corrugated metal for behind the eyes!
And there, finished, or was I?
No, I wasn't! I decided to add a couple of chipboard nuts to opposite corners.
And the rusty heart was looking a bit plain, so I added some stamping in black stazon.
And then I was finished!!!
I've just seen over on the That's Crafty challenge blog they have a theme of flower power and your project has to feature a flower, so I'm hoping this will count as I have a flower on the heart.

Texture Atcs
I threw everything at these atcs, modelling paste, white crackle paste, white crackle paint, tar gel and corrugated cardboard to create a background of texture.
Once everything was dry I used Dazzling metallic paints for the base layer, second layer was several colours of metallic lustres until I liked what I had. Lastly I added a touch of black carbon media paint.
Painted a wooden cog, added a prestud and a metal charm
Close up of the texture, using the carbon black to hi-light
Wooden ruler painted silver, metal embellishments and a mini bulb added
Again, carbon black added to hi-light the textures

Textured Tags
I have thrown everything under the sun at these two tags! I started off by adding the following DecoArt products, clear crackle, matte medium and white crackle paint. I smeared them all over the tags.
Next I used the heat tool and made all the above products bubble to create some texture. I painted the tag with chalky finish paint in lace, then dazzling metallic silver sage, then black shimmer. Next I added metallic silver from the Media range along with a coat of paynes grey. Finally I added gold, blue, violet and magenta interference paints again from the media range.
This was done in exactly the same way except instead of the paynes grey I used carbon black and as you can see, the interference paints show up much better on a darker surface, hopefully you can see the texture.
I took a couple of cardboard mounts and added a mix of ultra matte varnish and texture sand paste. I like to add some of the varnish to the sand paste as I find it helps it stick to the project better.
Once dried, I added paynes grey, transparent yellow iron oxide, quinacridone violet and magenta and interference violet all from the DecoArt Media range.
Close up of the textured sand paste.
And finally I decorated them with metal embellishments.
I had forgotten about the strips of metal that I bought at the Version Scrap show in Paris way back when.
And the mini bottle tops with the letters I got this year from Hobby Lobby.
All products are from the DecoArt range.

Andy Skinner Style Frame #3
Had another play with some chipboard and a frame.
I switched this one around and did the modelling paste and stamping on the inner frame. I only took one photo as the process is exactly the same as it was in the previous frame posts, but I did use different colours and missed a couple of stages out.
Dry brushed and outside edges darkened.
Unfortunately you can't see it too well here, but I added interference blue and turquoise.
Hopefully you can make out the shimmer.
Onto the outer frame which was gesso'd and painted with three shades of green media paint.
Weathered wood and white crackle paint.
Lots of greens, blues and a purple painted over the top of crackle until I was happy with the colours.
After putting it all together, I decided the outer frame needed a little something else, so added some stamping in black stazon.
Rusty washers added to each of the corners.
The chipboard die cut heart was crackled, painted with antiquing cream and most of it removed to enhance the cracks.
Stamping on the crackle and the modelling paste.
All products used were from the DecoArt Media range.
