Gothic Style Shaker Plaque

After watching a 'free' youtube video class by the lovely Anna aka Finnabair, I made this.

A shaker plaque made from recycled wood and a plastic dome.

Close up of the shaker part of the plaque.

The bat looked a bit plain so I added a rub on.

And the image of what is in the shaker is revealed.

Spooky Junk Journal

I made a junk journal type book for a friend out of recycled used envelopes.

These are the first couple of pages.

I tried to keep it fairly light hearted and not as gruesome as it could have been.

Some of the pages are really plain, but room has been left for journaling.

I incorporates some die cuts and some resin mould pieces.

I didn't want to make it too bulky as I didn't put a closure on it.

These two pages house some tags.

And this is the right page with the tags removed.

These are the middle pages.

The envelope pocket flips out on the right page.

And there are 3 tags / journaling cards in the pocket.

These are my favourite two pages.

This is a double spread page with a piece of white netting between the pages.

The netting is covering the left page in this photo, it's very subtle, but a nice effect.

Again very plain pages, but writing space if needed.

Nearly there.

The back inside cover has a pouch with a tag in it.

There is another pouch on the back of the above tag which houses a journaling card.

And finally, this is the back cover.

This is the removable tassel that is attached to the spine with a safety pin.

I hope she likes it as this was part of a 9 day course I am enrolled on with Anna aka Finnabair.

Santa of the Dead

I covered a skull with a mix of powertex and different sizes of sandballs.  I added a couple of flowers in the eyes, but they have kind of got lost, so did the mouth, so I was playing around with some hardware in the shape of nuts, bolts and screws.

Once I was happy with the mouth/teeth, I then started playing around with pieces for the nose and eyes.

Added a gem to each eye socket and some red roses.

I then added hand charms and some chain.

Due to all of the nuts and bolts at the front, I needed to add some 'weight' to the back so it would stand up on the wooden spool.

I actually love how he turned out. He is for sale in my on-line shop.

Date Stamp Plaque

After watching Anna's video and finding a not so old date stamp, I made a bit of an arrangement with some resin, lace, metal and wood pieces.

Once everything was stuck down I added some colour and sprayed with water until I was happy with what I had.

And once I'd photographed it outside, I decided it needed to be darker.

So I grunged it up a lot more, decided to change the colour of the moon and the handle of the date stamp.

I like it much better now I've gone darker.

Inspired by Finnabair and her latest video.

Decorated Vodka Bottles

Raspberry Vodka Bottles - great shape

Was quite please how this came out. I painted with powertex, then painted a couple of gold layers, then a coat of watered down pva gule, then a coat of black powertex and I use the hairdryer to crackle it.

Got some quite nice cracks showing the gold through.

Next I had a play around with some resin pieces, deciding where I wanted to place them.

Coloured the embellishments with shades of gold metallic paint and a blue one to make the key feature pop.

Close up of the back of the bottle.

I decided to use corrugated, beads and some lace on this bottle.

I filled the gaps in with kitchen roll for added texture.

I added the lace and gave everything a coat of black powertex.

Close up of the decoration so far.

Once it was dry, I dry brushed with silver treasure gold.

And from the back.
