Another Easel Card

It's my nieces 16th birthday at the beginning of November, so I decided to have another go at an easel card.  I made this one 6" x 6".  I created some more backgrounds using Dy's spray inks and eco friendly paints, cut this A4 sheet up and used it for the bottom and front of the card. The CI image is stamped over eco-friendly paint which has been crackled.  I cut out the flourish, the numbers and the fancy diamond from black card using the bigshot.  I cut another piece of the background and placed it inside the diamond shape.  The writing was printed onto safmat.  I used 5 gems to hold the front of the card in place.

Sunday Stamper - Wings of a Dove

This is my contribution to this weeks Sunday Stamper challenge which has the theme of 'wings'. The background is alcohol inked in various colours. The birdcage stamp is from the PA hot picks plate. The dies are T!m's Alterations and the words were printed onto safmat.

All at Sea

Background paper is from T!m's new range, and of course I had to have the green set, ermmm I think it goes by 'retro grunge' . I used the 'on the edge' scallop die for the top and bottom. The cogs were cut from sand paper as suggested by Deb. I covered them in walnut stain and black soot distressed inks, dried them with a heat tool and they bubbled!!!! I put some rock candy stickles on them too and it was like paint stripper, it stripped the colour off on the large one, so I was more careful with the smaller two. Again I heat dried them and they went really limp!!!! The image is from Lisa's Altered Art. The font used for the words is 'OgdredWeary' and it was printed onto safmat. I finished off by threading a piece of ribbon through the holes in the top made by the scallop die.

Tags & 4 x 4's

Been playing with my silkies again, but this time I used them as a background. I splodged a bit of each of the 4 colours onto a craft sheet, took my brayer, loaded it up and rolled. The colours came out too bright and the stripes were too clean, so I spritzed it with water and got a much more muted effect. I'm not sure if you can see or not but because they have mica in them, they sparkle!!!! The background image (stampers anonymous - diamond collage) is clear embossed on all the pieces.

I am entering the one on the right into this weeks My Time To Craft challenge as the theme is pretty pearls. I don't know if black ones are be classed as 'pretty', I can but try!!!

*** Edited ***

It was sunny this morning, and I've done some close ups, so I'm hoping you can now see the mica which gives it the sparkle

You may need to enlarge the photos to see properly

On this one there are two stripes across her dress that are prominent

Day's 11 & 12

Well sadly these are the last 2 days of my version of T!m's tags. This is only my 2nd attempt at the grungepaper roses and I'm quite pleased at how they've turned out. They are more green than I would have liked, but then that's me all over isn't it - green!!!!

I have to say day 11 was for me, was the least inspiring. I really, really didn't like those home made brads, so I used prestuds for my flower centres instead

Anyway, it's all over now for another year!!!

Playing Catch Up

This is my version of T!m's day 6 tag. I had to improvise and draw the tree myself, I think it could have done with being a tad bigger!!!! Oh and I didn't have any of the white flufy stuff either so I used white dabber paint

This is my version of day 5's tag. Didn't have any round fragments so have used the square ones instead and the images are from CI. My pine needles are a feather stamp from Paperarsty!!!!

And finally day 2 as I found a greeting stamp that I'd forgotten I had. Didn't have any mustard seed embossing powder though so had to use tea dye and it hasn't quite worked the same. Also didn't have the metal flowers and corners, and the mixing of the perfect pearls and flicking was easier said than done!!!!!

T!m's day 3 tag & a card

This is my version of T!m's day 3 tag. Loved doing the background and I stole the idea of the 'robin' from Alison, but I'm sure she won't mind!!!!

I got carried away and made Martin's birthday card the same way, but exchanged the robin for Fraser!!!

Altered Tin

Maz gave us all a tin to alter, but unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of it naked!!!! Been as though it was given to me by Maz I thought I would carry through the theme from the step. I cut the letters using the cuttlebug, stuck them onto the lid and covered it in sticky backed silver foil. Using a paper stump I carefully smoothed out the foil and traced around the letters. Using meadow, juniper, lettuce and willow alcohol inks I coloured the lid. Once dry I used my black stazon pad to hi-lite the letters.

The inside of the lid is covered in a piece of road map, and the quote is stamped directly onto it, again using black stazon. I then masked this off and stamped the hands over it (again carrying on with the step tradition) using olive green stazon. For the bottom I stamped the same car image 3 times and decoupaged the car and stamped journey down the right hand side in peeled paint distressed ink.

Hilda kindly sent me some printed words on Safmat, so I used 4 of them around the edges of the tin - journey, dream, travel, destiny

....... life is a journey

Tag Swap

I'm hosting a tag swap on Lotstodo forum. It's an open theme, so anything goes!!! Left I've used distressed embossing powder, middle has been run through the cuttlebug and for the right one I've used the water droplets on distressed ink

Week 22 - Lotstodo Challenge - Travel In Style

This is one of my scrapbook pages from our recent DIY holiday to Canada. We picked the truck up from the airport and did a bit of travelling around to different ski resorts. We've enver done it this way before but really enjoyed it. We saw more of the lovely country this way.

Lotstodo Week 8 - The Eyes Have It

The background for this piece is the same as last weeks entry using the acrylic dabbers and corrigated cardboard. I coated the 'red' plastic frame with pearl acrylic, left it to dry, added some copper wire and beads and printed the quote 'seeing is not always believing' onto safmat. I stamped the eye image, using black stazon, onto a piece of background paper that I'd prepared when playing with my leaves and adirondack colour washes, for technique click here. The flourishes and moon are die cut from a coke can and the button has been painted silver. I meant to give the metal a bash with my textured hammer but I'd already stuck it down before I realised I'd not done it!!!!

Get Well Soon Dawne

In her haste to open the door to the postman Dawne fell down the stairs and broke her ankle. She still managed to get her goodies from the postman though, then went to hosptial. Unfortunately, a week later, she is still there and can't come home until at least Wednesday. So to cheer her up I've made her a 4 x 4. I run a piece of acetate through the cuttlebug, and used alcohol inks to colour. Used my new stamp from Paper Paradise as the main image, mounted it onto gold card. Coloured the metal flourish with gold alcohol inks and added get well wishes using a piece of safmat.

Lotstodo Week 5 - In Stitches

I really struggled with this theme and I'm still not over the moon with what I've produced, but never mind. I punched holes around the outer edges and stitched my cord throught the holes. I got a new wizard die, which fits perfectly through the cuttlebug although you do need the tan embossing mats, and this die had 3 different buttons in the set. So I sewed my buttons onto the card and finished off by printing the saying 'a stitch in time saves nine' onto safmat and stuck it to my skinny.

Luggage Label

When I was making my tags and book marks for the Lotstodo swap Hilda is hosting, Martin made a comment. He actually liked the bandana technique. So, we decided after failing to get some luggage labels from a travel agent, that I would make some that were easily recognisable. So here it is, I made 10 in total. I used safmat to print the logo and stuck it to the label.

Lotstodo Week 39 Challenge - Music

Front
Back
Made a tag for this weeks challenge. Used my new Nick Bantock Damson Plum ink pad. Run the tag through the cuttlebug, used the music notes embossing folder, added a treble clef symbol. For the back I just swirled the ink pad direct to paper and stamped a few music notes with my CI music stamp using black stazon, which incidently Fraz pinched, chewed and is now in bits!!!
