Red Box Games Sorcerer Painted...

I don't know how long I have had this model, partially painted on my desk.  Seems like forever.
I decided to do a little light sourcing on the energy ball in his hands.  Had been thinking about doing that forever as well.
Here you see the back.  I really like how the skintones and robes turned out.

Killer profile.
The energy ball is fairly cool.
There you have it, I think the experiment turned out okay.....we'll be back with some more soon.

A Slaanesh Avatars of War Lord of Chaos

This is one sick miniature, in a good sort of way.  It really has some great character.
I'm not going to lie, its a bit of a pain in the ass to paint, with super fine detail.
The cape just screamed to be painted in skintones.  Little bit gross when you think about it.
I decided to keep the snake-ish body in skintones as well.  The scales I went with some greens., maybe should have done that in a different color.
The icon is a weird riot to paint.
So there you have it, one of my crazier chaos painted models.

Barbarian Marauder - Avatars of War painted

I'm not sure why years ago that I bought this miniature.  Its certainly not one of my favorites.  I think it was originally sculpted by Gary Morley, not one of my favorite sculptors.
There are certain views of it though that are very cool looking, like this head on view above.
The shield is pretty cool, but the cape below like the Lord of Wrath model sucks.
The other thing I really don't get with the model is the decapitated head that he is standing on when the model is armed with a flail.  Oh well, fantasy.

Avatars of War - Lord of Wrath!

Avatars of War does have some very cool looking miniatures, and this one is one of them.  I did convert it with a different head, as I actually have two of these miniatures, the other one is in work and in a blue paint scheme.
The fur cap is the only real let down to me.  I think if I was building a gamer convention army, I would likely dremel a bunch of that fur off and resculpt it myself.
Some of the ornamentation on the armor is a little funky and hard to paint.
I love the detail on the chest, the weapons, the greaves.
As always more to follow.

Sometimes you are Chosen! Chaos

I've always thought this was a rather cool looking figure, but I never liked its left hand.
So I replaced it with this 40k chaos bit, instant improvement that made want to paint this model.
I painted him the same time as the Khorne Lord, hence the paint scheme.  The chain cape is cool looking as hell, but certainly not practical, but cool nonetheless.
Mark another one of my list of wanting to paint.  Don't have a use for him, so it will go up on Ebay.
Much more to follow.

Harry the Hammer - My version

Chaos miniatures in a fantasy setting from Warhammer always have this cool look about them.  They are just barbaric in appearance.
This model has that look.
The cape and sword sheath are really the only major let downs in my opinion.  I have had this model for ages, and have no real use for him since GW got rid of their game.
That's alright, I really don't have time to play and many of the places make it hard for me to play with some of my physical impairments nowadays.

As always more come....keep painting.

Khorne Lord - Sangre para el Dios de la Sangre - Bloody Painted

I seriously do like the Khorne characters in a fantasy type setting.  They are truly brutal figures and cool looking.
I have had this model for a very long time.  Certainly wanted to paint, even though I no longer have a use for the model.
I think it turned out alright.
Tons of skulls all over him.

That axe is just brutal looking.  Love the look of it.
Much more to come.

NEW Chaos Spawn!!!

This is inspired by a Mike Butcher Chaos Ogre that I saw years ago.  I really loved the look of it and I had this Rat Ogre and some Tyranid pieces around and thought, this would make a cool looking figure.
The figure is massive.  You can see the tentacles from the spawn kit coming out of its back.
I gave it a fleshy color scheme.
 With some torn skin.
The upper part of the head was is an ogre bit.  The lower part is a Tyranid jaw. With the overall body being from the rat ogre kit.  All blended together with green stuff.
As always much more to follow.

She comes from the North and is part Barbarian....newly painted Avatars of War Figure

I originally bought this figure to be a part of my Mutant Marauders Warhammer force a long time ago.
Its an Avatars of War miniature.  The sculpt originally looked very cool minus the paint.  But as you paint it you find the incredible flaws in it, from the weird right elbow to the spindly leg that disappears in a weird way
The fur looks like something I'm able to sculpt which doesn't say much.
Then there is the weird hide or fur or whatever the hell that texture is on the inside by the left axe.  I painted it like a torn tanned hide color.  Not a great sculpt, I do not recommend the sculpt to anyone.  Despite that I think I painted it alright.  Much more to follow....
