Chaos Space Marine Converion - Wolf Killer

Well this is the last one for the foreseeable future.  I have no more Chaos Space Marine bodies left in the bits box, and I don't plan to replenish anytime soon.  I mounted this one on a converted 40 mm base.
I also gave him a Space Wolf back piece.
Below is a shot of the base, composed of broken pieces of Apoxie sculp, HO Scale Railroad ballast, and Italian Seasoning.
This miniature along with a number of the others that I have recently shown will be going up for auction on Ebay for cheap later today.  I'll post an update with the auction listings later.

Chaos Spacemarine Conversion: Bottom of the Bitz Box

Scraping the bottom.  These are some of the cooler bits that I have left.
Several years ago you would have had to cut up lots of things, done a bunch of insane sculpting to get things like this.  Now its just slap it all together.
A lot of the bits are so good anymore, it makes it very much harder for someone like myself to sculpt conversion pieces for things, as I'm not as good as these guys that do it for a living.  I guess some of the luster is gone for me on converting things like this.....

This mini like the others that I have been showing will be auctioned off later on ebay.

Chaos Conversion: Newest Iron Warrior

Getting ever closer to the end of my chaos space marines.  I've had thiese bits in my box forever it seems.  So I decided a Warsmith was in order.
The model is really just a whole lot of bits and relatively minor conversion work.

I did add a partial skirt of mail to the model.  When sculpting mail, I use a ball stylus.

I think the base turned out really well.  A standard 40mm round, but dressed up with slate chips, HO scale RR ballast, and some pieces of sprue resin.

A New Nurgle Space Marine....

....to join the legion of pestilence.  It's been awhile since I have done a nurgle anything.  So I thought as the last of my chaos space marines were getting modeled up that I had to model one with this cool looking head from the Bugman and Battle Road.
I then added some nurgle effects to the armor, and also that extended boltgun that I found in my chaos bits box.  Not sure when or why I made an extended bolter but it was a cool bit.
Above you can see some of the nurglely details.
Below is the left side.  Most all of the nurgle effects that I do are by using a ball stylus sculpting tool and a mechanical pencil after smoothing some greenstuff over the area that you wish to nurglefy.  The reason I use greenstuff for this type of sculpting is that it is the best in my opinion for holding these more organic (putrefied) shapes than say brownstuff or Procreate.
Below is a straight on shot of the marine.  You can also see the mail that I sculpted in the front.  Greenstuff is great for this also.  The other thing that has to be said about GS, at least for me is that I can see it easier.  The neutral gray of Procreate is very hard on my eyes, and the brownstuff is also hard to for me to see well.
And to cap it off is this base, something that was in an Adepticon gift bag.  Don't know who's base it is but it certainly has that chaos look to it.
This piece will eventually go up for auction on ebay.

Chaos Space Marine Conversion

Well as I'm finishing up the aborted Bretonnians, I decided to finish off the last of my chaos space marine models from my bits.  When these are gone that will be it for my Chaos Space marines.  Well except for the army that I built many years ago that is sitting in a box somewhere.
This one was a quick conversion.  I like this head and the running pose.  It needed a tabard.
Not much of a stretch on the conversion.  This model and the others along with the Bretonnians will be going up for auction soon.

The Whole Shibang....The Big Batch of Converted Chaos Space Marines

That's right the whole dug-gone batch of converted chaos space marines over the past couple of months is wrapped up.  Each one converted with what was left of my bitz box pieces (not to say there won't be a couple more, it was a deep bitz box).

Every last one of that group is currently up for auction on Ebay, starting at a relatively paltry sum to clear them off of my desk.  Discounts in shipping will be included if multiple models are won.  I normally do not ship internationally, but will make exceptions for these as listed.

If you are interested you can find them by putting in the Madhouse Workshop in the search engine or at the following link.

I've also listed some additional things and included some more of my bitz box.

Another of the Khornate Space Marines

Last of this batch.  I'll probably assemble the group for a photo and put them up on Ebay very soon.  I'll announce that in case any of you are interested.

On this one I used some of the Khorne brass etch.  The brass etch is very fiddly, I used alot of it in the past on my Khorne Demon Army.
If you don't bend it just right, and even if you do, it does not always fit properly.  Hence the gap you see on the power fist.  That can be filled with a bit of greenstuff and made to look smoother.
So I corrected that after I saw the magnified photos.

Chaos Undivided...attention to Conversion

This boyo is a different sort.  An imperial space marine backbanner with a chaos icon.  I do like this icon.  The head is an OOP head, I believe from a raptor, but its one of the coolest chaos heads out there.
The arm is from an OOP terminator.  Again a simplistic conversion, but one that looks and feels like a cool character.
After looking at last months Old Stuff Wednesday and my wargame against Butcher's Nurgle Legion, I knew I had to model something with a back banner.  I'm definitely going to carry that over on my loyalist when I get a chance.

Another Chaos Spacemarine Character Conversion

More or less an excercise in use of special left over bits.  As with a couple of this batch not really using a lot of GS.  These are relatively straight forward conversions.
This one will also go up on Ebay with the rest of the group in week or so.  No paint, just the converted model.  I'll make that announcement when the group is all ready to go.  I'm currently running some auctions on some of my left over chaos spacemarine bits, more of that will follow.  If you are interested....checkout my listings... http://myworld.ebay.com/madhouse_workshop

Next Chaos Space Marine Conversion...Iron Within...Iron Without

I had an Iron Warrior in mind while doing this one.  Bionics and mail.  An old OOP metal horned head.  Possessed legs.  The axe is a leftover Chaos Warrior Champion bit from Warhammer Fantasy.  Some metal piping from Dragon Forge.  Not much of anything in GS.  Don't always need GS.
Won't be painting this guy.  And again there will be auctions of the individual figures once I get this group all done.  I'll announce that when they are ready to go.

Chaos Space Marine - Slaanesh Conversion...Come Get Some

I've had these Slaanesh bits for years and never really had a use for them until now.  I love doing poses like this one.  It screams chaos and come challenge me.
Again you don't always have to go completely over the top with green stuff sculpting to make interesting characters.  Lots of times using the right bits in combination make for a very unique miniature.
Only a few chaos spacemarines left.  Matter of fact I've begun putting up what's left of my chaos space marine bits on Ebay in my Madhouse Workshop Account.

Follow Me! Next Chaos Spacemarine conversion

I said follow my long fingers.  The possessed bits are very awesome looking pieces.  I don't follow Bolter & Chainsword as much as I used to so I don't know if a lot of chaos players use them for normal marines or not.
I thought this made for an interesting pose.  And I do like this head.  A lot times your conversions do not need to be completely over the top.  Very subtle ones often work, and give you that dynamic that you are looking for.

Next...Slaanesh Chaos Spacemarine

I don't know how long that I've had the Slaanesh champion backpack and sword arm.  Its sat in the box for an extremely long time.
I have a slaanesh spacemarine head that is a bit different, it will get used on another conversion.  So I decided to make a head that looks similar.  You also notice if you closely that this model actually has a set of abs inside of the GS girdle.
Plasma pistol from the berzerker sprue.
The GS girdle / belt uses techniques shown in my GS Tutorial for making armored plates. Found at the following links:

http://psychosispc-themadhouseworkshop.blogspot.com/2009/09/continuing-armor-plate-tutorial.html

And again a draping on the leg.  The next Slaanesh mini will be in a much cooler pose.

Chaos Space Marine Conversion...The Basher

As with the previous marine, I'm digging deep in the bitz box and found this power maul.  Very appropriate for bashing thos Imperial Loyalists.
I also love this head, it screams chaos to me.   The drapings like the previous one are using similar techniques to my tutorial on sculpting cloth with GS.  http://psychosispc-themadhouseworkshop.blogspot.com/2011/12/green-stuff-cloth-tutorial-space.html
The rivets/pins that look to be holding the cloth are done with a mechanical pencil.  The spikes are favorite thing of mine for adding to the backpacks, they come from the chaos vehicle spike sprue.

Khorne - Chaos Space Marine Billy Bob

We are entering the home stretch on my Chaos Space Marines.  My bitz box is getting very small, less and less pieces all of time.  Once gone I have no future plans to do chaos space marines.

As I was building the Crusaders and doing the tutorial on tabards and other cloth things in green stuff, I did up a bunch of little conversions.  This is just first of that group.  I used the techniques demonstrated in my tutorial for both the tabard and the draping on the leg.

More of these one shot chaos space marines to come.  What will I do with them?  Every last one will go up on Ebay in the Madhouse Workshop account after the first of the coming year.

Old Stuff Wednesday - December ... Cerulean Templars vs. Nurgle

A long long time ago (circa 2004) Mike Butcher and I played this epic game of 40k in a local store, with tons of miniatures on the board, nearly every last one of them converted in some manner. I don't really remember the outcome other than I lost, but I took a number of photos.  Most all of the pics are after the unpacking.  Dig the craziness of the conversion work. Nothing like throwing down with really cool miniatures.

 He's phat.

 Help me!
