So I'm cruising around the net and came across some Adepticon coverage. Appears my buddy Mike was really busy on his Nurgle and hit them with both barrels. Very cool stuff by Mike. Although I think the display needs some slime and box of Kleenex.
Wish I could be there, but I'm just not up to that yet. But fear not, the recovery is happening and I have some cool stuff done that needs photographed and some stuff in the works.

Old Stuff Wednesday - December: Butcher's Nurgle versus the Cerulean Templars
I don't really remember when I had taken these, but its was in one of those classic battles between my Cerulean Templars and Mike Butcher's horde of Nurgle.
Very cool old stuff.

A New Nurgle Space Marine....
....to join the legion of pestilence. It's been awhile since I have done a nurgle anything. So I thought as the last of my chaos space marines were getting modeled up that I had to model one with this cool looking head from the Bugman and Battle Road.
I then added some nurgle effects to the armor, and also that extended boltgun that I found in my chaos bits box. Not sure when or why I made an extended bolter but it was a cool bit.
Above you can see some of the nurglely details.
Below is the left side. Most all of the nurgle effects that I do are by using a ball stylus sculpting tool and a mechanical pencil after smoothing some greenstuff over the area that you wish to nurglefy. The reason I use greenstuff for this type of sculpting is that it is the best in my opinion for holding these more organic (putrefied) shapes than say brownstuff or Procreate.
Below is a straight on shot of the marine. You can also see the mail that I sculpted in the front. Greenstuff is great for this also. The other thing that has to be said about GS, at least for me is that I can see it easier. The neutral gray of Procreate is very hard on my eyes, and the brownstuff is also hard to for me to see well.
And to cap it off is this base, something that was in an Adepticon gift bag. Don't know who's base it is but it certainly has that chaos look to it.
This piece will eventually go up for auction on ebay.

Old Stuff Wednesday - December ... Cerulean Templars vs. Nurgle
A long long time ago (circa 2004) Mike Butcher and I played this epic game of 40k in a local store, with tons of miniatures on the board, nearly every last one of them converted in some manner. I don't really remember the outcome other than I lost, but I took a number of photos. Most all of the pics are after the unpacking. Dig the craziness of the conversion work. Nothing like throwing down with really cool miniatures.
He's phat.

A new Nurgle infested Chaos Space Marine...WIP
As with the Word Bearer, I'm getting better at doing Nurgle. The Beasts of Nurgle demons that I did on commission a while back using the Forgeworld Nurgle Ogryn, really opened my eyes as I mimic'd the FW sculpting style to blend in the parts.
This is a work in progress (WIP). I still need to finish up the head, adding the gas mask look.
And if you want what looks like an popped blister, as shown on the leg below, use your tooth pick tool to prick it. You really need to have nasty thoughts when doing nurgle.
Normally when I do Nurgle I like to do some tentacle like things coming out of the back pack, but this time I elected not do so.
------
Another Friday night has past, but no Kart Racing report as I was unable to get to the track in time to race last night. So I just helped out with some of the other racers and my dad's kart. And the old man may have sold one of our home-made frames last night. What some of the karting companies sell their karts for is pretty outrageous when you sit down and think about it. And those karts are not any better than what we made in a garage. The old man finished second in our engine class last night in the Feature. But the Animal engines continue to dominate the racing. The mixed engine classes are not working, but I think the goal of the track is too get rid of the Clone and Briggs engines and get us all into Animals. Its kind of like watching a Grand Am or American Le Mans race with the different classes all running at the same time. Well there is always next week.

So this is another of the Nurgle infested ones. Used a possessed bit for the conversion. The tabbard I think adds quite a bit to the model conversion.
The picture below shows the little puss blisters on the shoulder, that was done with the Mechanical pencil. And if you want what looks like an popped blister, as shown on the leg below, use your tooth pick tool to prick it. You really need to have nasty thoughts when doing nurgle.

Nurgle infested Chaos Space Marine...
Seems like I've been on a Nurgle run lately, having fun with all of the different looks. Its quickly becoming my second favorite thingto do with chaos space marines, behind the Wordbearers.
The Nurgle Ogryn conversions I did a while back really opened my eyes to using a few more techniques in creating them. The detail of the Forge World nurgle stuff is simply awesome.
Since doing a bunch of conversions up, using the plastic ork nobs, I have a bunch of these magazines left over, so I thought a drum mag would look on the bolter.
Next up, probably more chaos, but I also have a Batman Space Marine that I'm working on. The Predator will also be coming soon.

Beasts of Nurgle Complete
The unit of beasts of Nurgle are completed. This has been a lot of fun, I'm sure my future nurgle pieces are going to be influenced greatly by this work. The Forgeworld pieces are incredibly detailed and I think I was able to match their style prettty well.
And here is the pic of the complete unit. The models are huge, and were based on the 50mm bases instead of the 40mm.
