So these are hold overs from the previous army. Both are metal Foundry models with Warlord shields.
The one has a bit of battle damage and will be going back to the Painting Table for some touchup.
Glad I kept these two models.
still more to come on the Roman project.

Gaius Marius - Foundry Painted Model
This is a model that I wanted to like, until I had one and started painting. Don't get me wrong its an easy model to paint, it is just not a very appealing model.
I like the pose, but the sculpt is too short and squat. And quite honestly its showing its age as well. The head is almost chimp like in appearance if I changed up the paint scheme.
But I do think the miniature turned out pretty good. I have a huge amount of Romans in my collection, but I don't plan on keep this one. There are better models out there.
Much more to follow.

2nd Foundry Viking Unit!!! Painted Glory for Odin....
Yep this the second unit full of character. Gotta love those Foundry minis.
The guy in the center of this unit next to the fat shirtless guy is simply awesome. I love his pose and that beard is incredible.
The fat guy is not bad either.
A bit of close up the eyecandy on the movement tray, and a view of the backside of the unit. We are
nearing the end of this wave of Vikings, then I'm moving on to the rebuild of my Romans.

The first War Games Foundry Viking Unit....
Well more like a just an assembly of a lot of my painted Foundry Vikings. They are fun models.
I do have to say I really enjoyed the beards on these guys, I've always struggled sculpting beards on my guys and they definitely gave me ideas on what I was doing wrong in my attempts.
I decided to give them pretty much all plastic shields from left over Gripping Beast models.
I just think the plastic shields are much nicer. I did see that Victrix is getting ready to release their kit with some even larger plastic shields and I'm going to assume that their scale may be slightly larger than the GB Plastics.
They are old sculpts, but I think they do stand the test of time.
I really like the guy with the white raven shield second from the corner.
They you are, more to follow.

More Foundry Vikings...Finished
These are part of my rank and file Viking army. I really like these old metal miniatures from Foundry. They have a lot of character and I'm adding a huge batch of them.
This one has a pretty awesome shield.
I think the cape turned out pretty good.
Hold on to that doggy.
This is the second time I have painted this one. So I have changed the color scheme.
Went with this burnt orange cape.

3 Old Foundry Vikings...
I have no real interest in keeping these 3 so they are up for sale. They are rather old sculpts and definitely not my favorites when it comes to Vikings, but I think my paint work came out well on them.
The poses are definitely showing their age in my opinion. The Axe man is alright.
I left the flocking off, for next Owner to decide. Sometimes on my figures when I'm selling things off like this, I wonder if I should not just go ahead and floc them.
As always much more to follow.....

Shield Wall.....Spears!!!
Another of the Foundry Vikings. This one I converted. The weapon arm had just an ugly weapon on it. So I used a left over Gripping Beast plastic spear and shield.
Otherwise a very cool looking miniature. It has a bunch of character to it. The sword, the hand axe, the knife and pouch. All fun detail to paint.

More Foundry Vikings finished....
You know when I build armies, I hate repeating poses. I purchased quite a few Foundy Vikings and ended up with a number of repeats in poses. So I'm thinning out some of them and putting these extras up for sale on Ebay. I think they turned out really good. Since returning to painting I have been experimenting with some paint schemes for my next batch of miniatures.
This is includes the varying the leather a bit, some greens, washed out blues, some different metallics, and Secret Weapon washes.
Fun miniatures.....much more to follow.

Viking Swordsman Finished
This is the first of a batch of Foundry miniatures that I'm painting. I don't plan to keep this one as I have a couple of this same pose. This one is currently up on Ebay for sell. Pretty cool miniature to paint. I've recently changed up the way that I paint leather. I have not been happy with the way my leather has been coming out for a while now. For this miniature I used a ruddy brown Reaper Master Series Triad. Definitely liked how it turned out, and it is how I plan to do leather in the future.
I think the red cape turned out extremely well. Much more to follow.
