Every time someone attempts to build a horizontal, leaderless, classless society they face-plant into the fact that the desire of people to associate with those who seem to be like themselves is hard-wired into human nature. Dealing with that fact is one reason why pragmatic Marxists in the 20th Century had to rack up such a high body count as they tried to make their utopian omelette by mass murdering a few tens of millions of eggs.
