The ridiculous lengths the media will go to in order to keep Obama ahead in the polls.
So, a few days after the mighty Democrat convention, the Washington Post's polling shows that Romney and Obama are in a statistical tie...
...so long as in the general election the electoratecontains only 23% Republican voters!
This is ridiculous. The Republican turn-out will be in the mid-30% range at least.
The only thing that the liberal media cares about getting right are the headlines.

Obama Anti-Romney Ad gets 4 Pinocchios from the Washington Post.
Closing paragraph:
Closing paragraph:
The Obama campaign fails to make its case. On just about every level, this ad is misleading, unfair and untrue, from the use of “corporate raider” to its examples of alleged outsourcing. Simply repeating the same debunked claims won’t make them any more correct.

Fallout from the Wedge Strategy.
Robert Royal cancels his Washington Post subscription after it follows the New York Times' lead and publishes the bigoted Freedom from Religion Foundation advertisement calling on liberal Catholics to leave the Catholic Church.
Royal points out that the mainstream newspapers are dying. He also laments that there was no reaction against the bigotry expressed in publishing that advertisment. He then observes:
Welcome to the real counter-culture.

When you hear about people “bitterly clinging” to religion, guns, and their own values, what you are hearing is the voice of a smug progressivism with contempt for the people. It would be fine if that attitude had not taken over institutions from government agencies to the local kindergarten.
But it’s now everywhere and regards itself as the only conceivable public morality in our day. Do not be deceived. One way or another, whatever you do, it will touch you.
On June 1, Andy Garcia’s new film, For Greater Glory, will be released (it’s already appeared in Mexico). The official website offers a surprisingly frank summary: “A chronicle of the Cristeros War (1926-1929), which was touched off by a rebellion against the Mexican government's attempt to secularize the country.”
Let’s pray that it doesn’t come to that here. In that heroic struggle, hundreds of thousands died, persecution and other injustices became a regular part of everyday life. You can read about it at a personal level in Graham Greene’s The Power and the Glory. I give an account of the whole thing in the first chapter of my Catholic Martyrs of the Twentieth Century. America, whatever we may think, is not exempt from human history.
The bigoted secularizers in America may seem to be winning. The forces of resistance appear weak to non-existent. It was that way under the Soviets too – but history can take sudden turns. Take a look sometime at Vaclav Havel’s essay “Living in Truth” if you want to see how small acts of resistance can bring down tyrants.
However desperate it all looks, the game is not over while there are still some willing to say: Viva Cristo Rey!
Welcome to the real counter-culture.

For the "Media Bias" file:
Young Joe Biden was a bully.
The "Romney was a bully" Washington Post article is part of the "Hey.Look.Squirrel." strategy, and has the additional benefit of potentially running up Romney's negatives.
The Washington Post should be embarrassed.

Washington Post going the full Dan Rather.
Along with making a stealth correction of its defamatory claim that a witness knew about the alleged bullying incident prior to being informed about the purported incident by the Washington Post, apparently the family of the victim never heard about the incident until the Washington Post brought it up:
I'm amazed that I can still be amazed at the partisan hackery and dishonesty of the mainstream media.

But it gets worse. Tonight, Christine Lauber, John Lauber’s sister, said that she didn’t know anything about the bullying incident. More importantly, she said that the story had factual inaccuracies. Betsy Lauber, another of John’s sisters, told ABC News, “The family of John Lauber is releasing a statement saying the portrayal of John is factually incorrect and we are aggrieved that he would be used to further a political agenda. There will be no more comments from the family.” Said Christine, “If he were alive today, he would be furious [about the story].” Jason Horowitz, the reporter on the Post story, did speak to both sisters and quoted them in the story – but apparently still botched the facts.
I'm amazed that I can still be amazed at the partisan hackery and dishonesty of the mainstream media.
