Four score and seven gears ago, this small town bought to fruition a dream of a President stature of epic proportions.  And all was good... until the next town over built that Cyberpunk John Wilkes Booth.

Illustration: Molly McGuinness

I'm a huge fan of Brian Kesinger's art, but I think he's outdone himself in his recent comic.
"this was my first entry into the world of comics. this was published in an anthology book produced by the story artists at walt disney animation studios. the book is called where is dead zero and each artist had to tell a different 8 page story using that same title.  my story centers around a crypto-entomologist  named molly mcguinness who travels to the new world in order to return a lost butterfly to it’s native habitat. it was a lot of work but very fun to do. i penciled each panel out on paper and then inked and colored it digitally."

Tech: Ragnar’s Revenge PC Case

This beauty is the winner of Bit-tech’s annual awards for both best casemod and custom case as well as the winner of German Casemod Championship.  Ali Abbas calls his Viking-themed wooden case Ragnar’s Revenge, and it is a sight to behold.  It features mechanical swiveling wings that reveal the system's interior.  The design isn't exactly nautical, but it's primary purpose is conceal the PC’s components behind eye candy.  Check out the video and photos below.

3D Print: Steampunk Iron Man Hand

"Steampunk Iron Man Hand" by Jacky Wan (Valcrow)

Jacky Wan is an incredible designer, collaborating with Ultimaker in creating various projects. He recently combined two of his passions, movies and helping those in need. Inspired by e-NABLE’s noble mission of creating 3D prosthetic hands, Wan wanted to create a 3D printed prosthetic hand that would look “more cool” than what is currently available. He wanted to make something that a child would be proud of or be the envy of others. He also had the desire to change this disability into something that was “fun in its own way.”

Wan used the Raptor Hand design as a base in creating a steampunk style Iron Man prosthetic hand. The snap-together construction of the hand ensures each component is useful, including the gears on the back of the hand. Wan has made the design available on YouMagine for free download, and it has already been downloaded more than 500 times.
"While many of the printable prosthesis designs have come a long way in proving it's function. They still have a long way to go in aesthetics. This iteration focuses on building upon that base but making it more creative, fun and acceptable to children to alleviate the psychological stress of having to use a prosthesis.

This is a first version. Most of the aesthetic and base structure is complete. A level of refinement & revision towards the function and usability is required. Future improvements include: variable finger tension, rotatable thumb."

Steam Hellsinki, the first steampunk bar in Finland opened on March 13th, 2015.  The menu at Steam Hellsinki includes almost 40 varieties of gin (soon to be to 70), served alongside cucumber sandwiches and tea served in vintage tea pots.  The bar is one of several managed by a company well known in Helsinki for its themed restaurants, but by all reports, the popularity of Steam Hellsinki has exceeded all expectations.  Evidently Scandinavians love a good Victorian theme.

Interior Design: Submarine-Themed Pub

A year ago, 6th-Sense Interiors came up with the idea of a themed pub meant to faithfully render the interior of a submarine for one of their clients. The vault shaped ceiling as well as the wagon shaped space divided in two different rooms seemed perfect for this kind of design.

The Romanian Sub pub, in its final form, would have a large and small room, each with its own bar according to their size, together with a small booth. The pub is designed in industrial style with steampunk features. According to the concept idea, the design was supposed to include several details that are commonly found inside any submarine: control panels, periscopes, visible pipes, bolted metal doors, torpedoes, radars.  It's not quite "steampunk," but it's still a sight to behold.

The small room is called the Engine room,  because of the big propeller powered by engines."
