Mural: Darth Vader Tree House

Created for Powwowhawaii. Located in Hawaii.

This isn't Wooden Wave's only Star Wars mural by a long shot, but in my opinion, it's the best.  I'd love to see this design turned into a model.

From September 17-25, more than 45 new murals were created as part of  1xRUN’s 'Murals In The Market' festival in Detroit’s Historic Eastern Market district.

45 local and international artists were invited to the city's first mural festival, painting massive walls with waves of colour and cultivating a contagious artistic energy that transformed the city into an epicenter of the contemporary public art movement.

Events included during the 9 day street art festival included intimate talks with legendary New York City documentary photographer Martha Cooper, progressive Parisian street artist Kashink as well as New Zealand’s Askew plus a Featured Artist Exhibition at Inner State Gallery. Artists also participated in the Detroit’s Slow Roll bike ride taking a unique look at the city in one of it’s newest weekly traditions, and took in the sights and sounds of Detroit’s finest musicians at TV Lounge.

Go here to check out more of the murals.

Street Art: Terry Pratchett Murals

London Sir Terry Pratchett Mural by Dr Zadok and Jim Vision
Source: The Telegraph

Painted memorials to the fantasy author, who died earlier this year, have appeared in Bristol and London,

This East End mural was created by street artists (who The Telegraph calls "muralists") Dr Zadok and Jim Vision.  It's located on Code Street, near to where Brick Lane meets Sclater Street, and features author Terry Pratchett, along with some of his best known characters, including Death, Binky, Rincewind, A’Tuin, the Death of Rats, and Albert.  You can check out a progress picture that was tweeted last week.

It's a fantastic tribute, especially considering that Pratchett was notably pro-graffiti, once being quoted as saying, "You ignore graffiti at your peril. It's the heartbeat of a city. It's the voice of the voiceless."
