Cultural Experience

Our sweet neighbors, the Murthys, are expecting a baby and tonight we were invited to attend a baby shower for them. They are from India and it was so interesting to be a part of their culture for the evening! They are wonderful neighbors and we have so enjoyed getting to know them! 

Diwali

Our neighbors across the street moved in within a week of us moving in and they are from India. They are wonderful and we have really enjoyed getting to know them and learning about their culture. This week they celebrate Diwali which is their biggest holiday. Diwali is a festival of lights. To celebrate with them we made some home made paper lanterns and hung them up in our front yard with lights and a sign that said "Happy Diwali." They were very touched by our gesture and tonight they came over to show us their traditional Diwali clothing and to bring us some of their Diwali treats. It was fun to learn a bit more about their culture!
