This morning we had a great breakfast and packed up and left our tiny house. This was seriously a fun little house for our family. I think we all really loved how unique it was. After packing up we headed to Canyonlands National Park. This park is divided into 3 sections, we focused on 1: Island in the Sky. As you drive around this part of the park, it literally feels like you are driving on an island in the sky. This area is surrounded by thousand foot drop offs down to the Green River. Makes for amazing views, great hikes and somewhat panic laced talks directed at the children. In all honesty the kids were mostly really good about staying away from edges so this mama didn't have a heart attack. We drove the entire Island in the Sky area. Here's a compilation list of what we did today:
Hike to Mesa Arch
Hike to Grand View Point*
Ate a picnic lunch at the White Rim overlook
Hiked to the first and second overlooks at Upheaval Dome**
Walked the short trail to the Green River Overlook.
*This was one of the most unique trails we have ever done. It was mostly in the sun the entire time but the hike takes you along a ridge with stunning views. Amazing trail!
**Another awesome and unique trail! This hike was actually the best part, the overlooks of the Dome weren't the best we've ever seen. But the trail itself was worth the hike!
*Warning: Picture overload*
