December Miscellaneous

December proved to be a fun with a mix of unexpected (seems to be a new way of life for our family). I took the kids to the ward Christmas party where we had a live band, yummy food, and lots of fun activities. Our YW's group was in charge and set up a really fun graham cracker house building station. Trey made a fun house but unfortunately they were out of grahams by the time I got over to the table with Kayla and Andrew. So we improvised and mad ea house of cereal! It actually turned out really cool and I love the way it looked!

Scott and I actually managed to get a date! Feels a bit rare lately. A good friend of ours, Bob Kramer is a member of the SLC chamber choir and their Christmas concert was tonight. We went with some other couples and had a wonderful time at dinner at the Blue Plate (DDD) and then had a magnificent time at the concert!

I don't know hwy this is blurry but it was the cutest thing ever! Skyler reading to Livvy and she was just captivated!

A cool view of the inversion (smog) that settles in the valley. That line of "clouds" in front of the mountains... not clouds. Its nice to live where we live and feel like we live above the smog.

We were so excited to have miss Livvy home with us that we took a bunch of  girl pics!

I love the relationship these 2 have. They are the best of friends and are so good to each other

first (maybe 2nd?) time at the dentist

The Grinch house! How cool is this?

For Christmas we got "family adventure" book. It has scratch off adventures that you do as a family. Tonight we had "lip sing and make a music video, kids verses parents. Parents choose 2 songs for the kids and vice versa." For the kids we picked A Whole New World and Eye of a Tiger. For us they picked Love is an Open Door and Guns and Ships. We had SO much fun and had lots of laughs!

Girls Night

Tonight I was able to go with some friends up to Park City and enjoy and AWESOME and a much needed girls night out. My friend, Sarah, organized and hosted this. We gathered at a condo and just talked and relaxed for a while. Sarah had made each of us a "favorite things" bag with a bunch of her favorite things. It was so fun and I had a wonderful time with these amazing ladies.

After talking for a bit we went to eat at an awesome pizza place (a Diner Drive-ins and Dives) and then a fun ice cream place with a cow theme, including giant cows and tables with cow legs, which was rather hilarious!

San Diego Trip (Day 1)

For Christmas this year we really wanted to take the kiddos on an airplane ride. After looking for cheap flights we settled on San Diego. Needless to say we have been SO excited for this trip. We purchased the city pass and picked some fun activities to keep us busy and off we went.

Riding the shuttle to the airport

Our flight got delayed.... no fun, especially with 5 kids

Finally got on the airplane!!! YEA!!!

Our kids LOVED the movie watching and snacks on the airplane. I have to say this flight went off with out a hitch. We didn't have seats all together but we made it work and everyone loved the plane experience.

When we arrived in San Diego we decided to use one of our city pass activities right away. We headed to downtown and got our tickets for a 1 hour bay tour. We explored for a bit and then enjoyed our tour out in the ocean.

Our cruise ship-the Hornblower

We saw lots of cool navy ships

and this amazing bridge

After our cruise, we walked around downtown-saw this cool ship and a really fun playground that the kids enjoyed for a while.

We ate at a DDD place called Hodad's and it was pretty awesome! Their onion rings were out of this world!

We made it safely and easily to our rental which is just adorable!
