Weekend Rewind

Happy Monday friends!! What a happy Monday? Well it's a Happy Birthday to me Monday - we will see what the day has in store for me. In the meantime we will rewind the weekend:

Friday night M burnt our burgers to a crisp! I thought Noah was just saying "FIRE" but the BBQ was legit on fire! Guess M will have to clean the BBQ! We ended up having grilled cheese for supper... M had baseball, so I was on solo bedtime duty. It didn't not go down well at all. At one point they were both screaming. Emilya isn't napping well at all with her new teeth coming in! She is definitely getting a bottom tooth (it's poked through already), but I am convinced that it won't be long before the one beside it comes up. This is soo crazy to me, becaus Noah didn't get teeth until 9 months!!

I did end up getting both kids down and by 9 PM! So it was half a mommy win! I decided to rent a pay-per-view since Bell offered me a free one. I chose Mother's Day, since the cast was loaded with big actresses like Jennifer Anniston, Julia Roberts, etc. It was alright, maybe I just expected better because of the fully loaded cast. I was glad I didn't pay $6 for it! But I will say the renting process was super easy!

Saturday morning M and Noah went to the farm to get the pressure washer and the backhoe. They
had a small job to do in the morning. While they did that, Em and I worked upstairs for a bit. I took an inventory of Noah's wardrobe and I think I bought the wrong sizes for fall! Let's just say Noah has a whole bunch of 4T clothes... Like I won't buy another thing in that size and not so much in 3T... - the size that fits. Oops!! I will go through his drawers and get a better idea on the situation and see just what he needs.

When the boys got back, Em was napping, so I went outside and quickly came up with a new plan for the front porch! We need to repaint the porch and the one side of the railing was actually rotting. So, I decided that I would like an opening to come off the side of the porch instead of walking around to the front. So M ripped off that part of the railing and will have to fix up the posts and build a new step going up to it! I think it will look great! I got started with power washing. I always wondered why
people cleaned thier driveways, etc. but this made a night and day difference! Our house was filthy! I've got a lot of painting coming up in the nearest future, after we give everything a light sanding. But our screen door (wooden), rocking chair, front porch, garage door trim, and front door all need some paint and we will reseal the front porch deck.

The day literally flew by with M and I taking turns watching the kids as we tackled various jobs around the house, with power washing being mine, his was cutting the lawn, working on the pool, and working on the deck railing. I managed to get just over half of the house and porch power washed before we decided to make a run into Home Depot. Emilya screamed the whole time - over tired for sure, but we got everything we needed except sand paper!

We grabbed Swiss Chalet for dinner and headed home to eat! This kid was spun!! So we played for a bit before bedtime!

Pretty sure I went to bed early!

Sunday morning we just had some good old fashioned family time! Playing, waffle breakfast and then we planned out the day, as we still had a list of things to accomplish!

I finished power washing the house, with a few breaks to hang out with these two.

Check out the difference...

M and Noah went into town to pick up my birthday cake (ice cream cake - my request) and brought home lunch. After lunch the kids napped. While they napped I finished the power washing and got my work out in! I missed two days... Technically one if you count one of the missed days as a rest day! Sometimes life just gets to busy, although I am sure I made it up for it on the days I missed!

M went swimming to try and find the hole in our liner and was successful!! Then he headed to ball!!

When the kids woke up we headed down to the ball park just as M was finishing his ball game! So we played at the park for a bit instead!!

We came home, had a spaghetti supper and then went back outside to work on the new step for the front porch! Best little helper around:

Next thing we knew, it was bedtime!!

Today we are hanging around home and then heading to the farm for my birthday dinner and ice cream cake!

Weekend Rewind

Likely the most boring weekend rewind in a while - just sayin!!

Friday night Noah was off to the lake for his first weekend sleep over!! M and I ordered take out from the restaurant and hung out in a quiet house before he headed to ball and I headed to hang out with the ladies with Emilya! She stayed awake the whole evening and flight sleep like a champ fort he whole girls night, but she was at least happy while doing it!

Saturday morning we all woke up at 7:30, I got some laundry started and we picked up the house a bit. We face timed with Noah to see how his first night away on the boat was, and it went well, aside from waking up early!

We packed up for the ball game and headed out!! I will say Emilya travelled not to badly this weekend!! Fingers crossed she's growing out of it or getting better at entertaining herself! Once we got to ball park, I put her sleep and enjoyed watching the whole game, interruption free without worrying where Noah was! They won that game, but had a huge gap inbetween games, so we welcomed the team back to our house inbetween games.

The kids swam, we ordered pizza and relaxed for a few hours. M and and I at least enjoyed getting the photo updates of Noah's weekend away - my one request haha.

The guys won their next game and then didn't play again until Sunday at 12:45! I had a pounding headache, thanks to his head cold M shared with me, so we picked up supper and came home! I enjoyed a soak in the hot tub, which helped my headache and then we had a quiet night! Pretty sure I was in bed by 10 PM!

Sunday morning we were all up by 7:30 again! M and I decided that a full weekend away from Noah is just too long, plus then M doesn't get any time with Noah! We will stick with overnights instead!

I finished making the zucchini loaves - the zucchini our neighbour gave me made 8 loaves in total!! We are going through freeze them! We hung a few pictures in Em's nursery, cleaned Noah's room and I had a quick shower before we headed back to ball!

The ended up with only 9 players and got mercied!

So we headed home with a tired Emilya and while she napped at home with M, I ran into town and grabbed groceries! I also bought a dual DVD player for the car to see if it will help distract Emilya by giving her something to focus on!

Noah didn't get home until 6 PM! M and I were pretty antsy to see him and we did get the biggest hugs when he got home. We had dinner with M's parents, and played for a bit before they went home and we got everyone ready for bed!

This little lady was especially happy to see Noah, although she learned how to make up for the noise she was missing and was constantly chatting all weekend!!

We all sure missed this squish this weekend! But he did have fun at the lake with Grandma and Grandpa!!

So there you have it, a rather quiet uneventful weekend it was, and as much as it was a nice break, just too long!!

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!! We are having a quiet day today!!

Weekend Rewind

Clearly weekends are not long enough, especially now that M is in the middle of the spring rush and working Saturdays! But it just means we need to make the best of the time we do have together as a family!

Friday night I left Emilya with M (she was in bed for the night - love the schedule she has made for herself already) and I headed out to spend some time with the girls. It had clearly been too long, as we burnt our appetizers, but it was a great night out with them full of much needed conversations for us all!

Saturday morning M was off to work. We had a cartoon Saturday morning, as Noah was upset Daddy wasn't home. Luckily he played more than he watched, but it made him happy. M's Mom came over to take Noah out for a surprise shopping trip. He has been asking to go shopping lately, and I am not ready for that task yet. Noah had a great time shopping and came home with flowers for me and a package of cars for himself. While he was gone, I managed to get 2 totes of fabric and craft stuff out away, laundry on, pull out some hand me downs for Emilya and get most of the kitchen cupboards wiped down. We had lunch when he got home and next I knew it was nap time!

We all had a nice long nap and M was productive when he got home and worked on some stuff in the basement. When we all woke up, M took Noah into town to return the wrong trim we bought and ended up picking up Swiss chalet for dinner! We played for a bit after dinner and worked in getting both kids bathed. Noah was a big help with bathing Emilya. He is such a great big brother!!

Sunday morning M was up early to volunteer his time for the firemans breakfast. Noah actually slept in until 7:30, which was a miracle, since he has been getting up at 6:30 lately. We think it is because the sun rises and comes right in his window, despite the black out curtains, we might need to get a blind after all.

Emilya got up at 7:15 and I am happy to report that we all got dressed and out the door before 9 AM without any tears!! Emilya slept through breakfast and Noah sure did enjoy it, although he was really upset to leave Daddy. Poor guy isn't quite used to the new spring schedule and misses his Daddy time.

M came home early around 11:30 because we had company coming over to meet Emilya. We got the floors properly washed in great room and all dusted. It makes me feel so much better getting the main floor cleaned post reno, as the dust sure can build up.

M's aunt came over for a visit and enjoyed some sleeping Emilya snuggles! When they left, I fed Emilya, Noah was napping and we managed to get a few more things done off my long to-do list, including pick which carpet color we wanted. I had it narrowed down to 2 choices.

When Noah woke up from his nap it was time to take out his staples. He handled it like a champ, with no tears! It did make this mama queasy with the thought though.

We all headed into town after that. We picked up a plasma car from a lady who had bought one for her son a few weeks ago, but he didn't care for it. As soon as I put it in the truck, Noah was calling it an airplane. M dropped me off at winners with Emilya, while the boys headed to Home Depot to do somemore returns. I would do anything to avoid a hardware store these days. Check out Emilya's haul:

I also got this canvas for the new craft/office/toy room. Love the encouraging words! I haven't picked a color to pop the room with yet, so it's very monochrome right now.

After M picked me up, we headed to Walmart for groceries and then home for dinner. Emilya slept the whole trip, which left M and I nervous for how our night was going to go. It was not her best night to say the least.

After dinner we took M downstairs to play with his "airplane" aka plasma car and he LOVES it! As if these smiles don't say enough:

It was bedtime before we knew it!

Icey Easter

Wow, we survived this past weekend and I am still pregnant!!

Let's rewind back all the way to Thursday... The ice storm. Luckily the roads were not bad and we were still able to get Gracie to her grooming appointment. That definetely made this mama happy because the groomer was booked solid all of April if I couldn't get in on Thursday and Grace needed to be groomed something fierce. Right before leaving the house around 10 AM, the power went out. Mike had started getting fire calls for lines on fire around 6 AM, so I had got up and turned the heat up just in case.

I dropped Noah off at the farm, headed to drop off Gracie, picked up my sister and we grabbed some groceries and lunch. Gracie was a trooper for her appointment and looks fantastic all cleaned up!!

I stopped at home before heading to the farm to see if we had power and to drop off the groceries and sure enough our power was still out! It was estimated to come back on by 8 PM. So we had dinner at the farm, came home to grab bedtime stuff for Noah just in case. Then the power went out at the farm too! Luckily M was able to get the generator going just intime for bath time and we eventually put Noah to bed at the farm.

The ice storm was not easing up, the roads were still fine, but the trees were covered in ice and only getting thicker as more rain came down. So around 11:30 I made the call that I was going home to sleep and M would stay at the farm with Noah. I prefer to sleep when it is cool anyways, so Gracie and I headed home where I would be more comfortable.

Turns out a transformer blew around the corner from me and the road ended up getting shut down, so I had police lights in the windows all night, along with various hydro trucks flashing their lights. I probably got the same amount of sleep I normally do as of late - which isn't much lol.

I headed back to the farm in the morning, Noah was a bit cranky, but we just had to distract him. So Grandpa read him one of his favorite books.

After breakfast M and I ran home to get stuff out of the fridge before it spoiled and checked the basement for water. Luckily no water and the freezers were still good, so we just had one basket of food to take to the farm. When we got back to the farm Noah was out with Grandpa, off to town for something.

When the got home we decided the ice storm wasn't going to hold us back from our Easter fun, so we got right to painting eggs! I will say this entertained Noah longer than I expected it to. We all had fun painting eggs together before lunch time. It was around this time that our power came back on at home. So we waited until after lunch to head home before nap time so that the house would have time to warm up from the lovely temp of 11 degrees!

Our road was closed by the police, but we were still able to go home luckily. The village is just a mess with limbs and trees down, hydro lines, etc.

We put Noah down for a nap and I ended up napping as well. Turns out we slept a lot longer than planned and didn't have time to decorate the cookies as we had planned! Oops!!

Saturday night we folded laundry, vegged and I got out my crocheting basket and did up a few dishcloths, as my uncle mentioned he needed a new one! M and I hit up the hot tub before heading to bed!

Come Saturday morning I felt such relief! The baby had dropped a bit!!

We headed to the village Easter a Egg hunt! Noah had a great time. He picked up eggs one by one! It was chilly, but the weather was better than last year!!

While Noah napped, we made cherry cheesecake for our family dinner at my aunt and uncles. Once Noah woke up it was party time! And this little man was ready to party!!

This was his Easter outfit for this year!

We got to meet my cousins new little guy named Hunter. Noah was soo cute with him. Here are all the cousins together:

And prepare yourself for baby fever... Thank goodness our baby is due any day, because I would want a baby otherwise right away after seeing these:

Noah got to practice his big brother skills and man did it melt my heart!! It makes me look forward to introducing him to his new sibling! Luckily it won't be long now!!

Another late night for him, but he is a trooper.

Sunday morning we set up Easter eggs all throughout the main floor! Noah had soo much fun hunting up the eggs!

Up next was his Easter basket! He found Peppa Pig, peppa pig books, the fisher price airplane and a fort building kit! Peppa Pig was a huge hit:

His evil little smile...

In all honesty, Noah just had a rough morning. He played well with his new toys, but potty training was a disaster and his sassy attitude was in full force after 3 busy days off schedule. I managed to get the baby's bag packed, most of mine packed, aside from the stuff I will have to throw in, like hair brush chargers, etc.

After lunch we decorated Easter cookies, but first we tried out the bubble wrap that came in the box!

This bubble wrap gave him quite a bit of entertainment even after we decorated the cookies.

I think Daddy was in shock with how much sprinkles and icing this little man conned his way into. He's got moves!!

All done!!!

After nap we headed to the farm for Easter dinner, which included Grandpa's very own Easter egg hunt!!

Noah loved hunting up the eggs and would shout out "I see an egg" and go running! He was not a fan of the nesting though and would end up making Grandpa dig out the small eggs from it!

Too busy looking to stop for a picture!!

We were lucky enough for a nice warm day too!! Here is Noah with Grandma and Grandpa:

And our family picture:

We decided Noah needed to stay outside until dinner was ready to run off some of his sugar, so he ran up and down the barn hill, quad rides and of course Kubota rides!

My Dad came for dinner too!! Noah was on cloud 9 with both Grandpas and the Kubota! He is such a grandpas boy!! Check out this silly grin....

And for the proper pic haha:

Dinner was great, we had ribs and baked potatoes with fresh green beans and cherry cheesecake. Noah was seriously spent and his sass was coming back, so we let him go for one more Kubota ride and headed home for tubby time and then bed. It didn't take him long crash at all!!

Needless to say I am pretty sure today is going to be a gong show, as I intend to get back on track with our schedule. But he does tend to surprise me, so we will see. It's supposed to rain all day, so we will cooped up a bit, but I'm hoping for the best!!
