Weekend Rewind

Happy Leap Day!!

A long weekend for us, as it was potty training weekend for Noah, on top of having an OB appointment Friday that M and Noah tagged along for! So we will rewind all the way back to Friday morning:

We left the house by 9, after Noah helped me dry my hair:

We hit up Costco first, then headed to Toys R Us to return a humidifier and the fish Noah got for his birthday because he didn't charge. We managed to replace both things and I'm happy to say they both work! We also left with a new ball and the little people's airplane - which we will give Noah as a big prize after successful potty training.

The dollar store was next to gather prizes and supplies for potty training! I also bought myself an adult colouring book, since Noah is taking more interest in coloring lately. We grabbed some lunch, stopped at my moms quick and then headed to the hospital. I had an ultrasound first, which was fun seeing the baby again, it was also neat seeing Noah's reaction to the baby on the screen! He insisted it was a girl and was sure to tell anyone else we saw that day! The doctor was next - more on my appointment in this weeks bump date. Then we headed home, ended up having to drive around a bit since someone fell asleep later than planned and we hoped for him to get in at least half an hour!

First things first, check out the new book he picked out at Costco:

Then we had to watch the fishy swim in the sink and before we put him away until bath time, he had to give him a kiss:

The rest of the afternoon we just focused on playing and family time! When it came to bedtime, this little guy was soo excited to have a tub with his new fish!

After he went to bed, I decided that I would head out to lens mills and get the fabric I needed for a few projects coming up. I also hit up the grocery store. Apparently my phone was on silent and M thought I was gone to long, forgetting I wasn't just grocery shopping and began to get worried. I walk in the house for him to tell me he reset my Apple ID because he couldn't remember my password and wanted to track me down to make sure I was okay.

I watched a few episodes of Fuller House and went to bed!

Saturday was all about potty training, I managed to get some house work done, got the baby clothes soaked and laundered and then during naptime I finally made my valances for the kitchen window and foyer door while watching more Fuller House.

We had homemade pizzas for dinner which were delicious, thanks to our serious little chef:

After Noah went to bed, I needed out of the house, so I took Gracie for a nice walk. When we got home, I folded some laundry and watched more Fuller House - I'm kind of torn on whether or not I like it. I mean I liked the show as a child and now I'm watching it as an adult, so clearly it's a different experience, but I mean I keep on watching more, so I must not hate it.

Sunday morning was an early start thanks to potty training, but we will take it. So I managed to get all the baby clothes washed and put away in the nursery, M muddled the wall in the nursery, and I generally just got more things put away and organized, but there is still soo much more to do.

Clearly we had no plans this weekend because of the potty training, and despite my to-do list ever growing, we were really limited as to what we could tackle while Noah was awake, as we were giving him our fullest attention. During naptime though we managed to rearrange the great room and put the fireplace back in storage, since I'm pretty sure the coldest days of winter have passed. Our two week forecast looks pretty amazing.

When Noah woke up, we decided to take advantage of the amazing weather (14 degrees) and played outside for a bit. I sent the boys and Grace out ahead of me so I could get the floors washed with ease and started some laundry before heading out! We were outside one minute too long and ended up with an accident, but he did really well and we all just needed some fresh air. It's hard to let these days pass us by without taking advantage of them.

That pretty much sums up the "weekend", even though today we are on Day 3 of the Potty training. It has been a good family time project, which I find myself craving more of before this baby comes. Wish us luck today, every day has been better, I don't know that he will be 100% trained by today, but we are soo much closer and will keep it up, as he is doing well with it. I think part of it is that he just turned two, however he was queuing he was ready, so I don't regret trying now despite the negative comments people have given us for doing this "too soon". I've just gone into it all with the mindset of if it works, great, if not, he's only 2! But we are pretty committed now and I don't see is going back to diapers anytime soon! Each day is better and overall he is happier out of diapers.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

New Years Week+End Rewind

Since I have jam-packed this week with a catch up of posts, I will recap our New Years weekend and what has gone down this week today for you.

M worked until about 3 PM on New Years Eve. On Wednesday last week Noah was having a rough day and to make matters worse, we couldn't find his pacifier in bed, so to bed he went without out it and surprisingly he didn't seem to care! However we have since learned there are repercussions to him not having it which include 30 minute naps and early wake ups in the morning!! So needless to say on New Years Eve, Noah was not up late, but we tried our best to make the best of his early evening with a special tub celebration! He wasn't too sure at first, but then loved it once he saw it was a light in the water and it changed colors!

Once the little guy was in bed, M and I tidied up a bit and I watched the movie The Intern on the box. It was really good!!! M was working on his new smoker and then played some xbox games I'm sure! I went to bed around 11:30, but stayed up in bed and watched the ball drop with M. I was asleep shortly after!

New Years Day was super laid back in comfy clothes all day long! We really just spent the day as a family, which was nice and low key! We also attempted our first family selfie of the year... I won't tell you how many shots we had to take to get this mediocre one, but it's us. Gracie is only looking because we said who's here and Noah is yelling Grandpa - meanwhile Grandpa is nowhere near being home..

After Noah went tthe bed, I conned M into playing Dice Poker wth me and sure en go I started the year out with a win!!

Saturday morning M had to run and do a job for a farmer, so he dressed Noah up in his coveralls and off they went, giving me the morning to work on laundry and some other things around the house!

Saturday late afternoon we had some friends over with thier 3 boys for dinner. M was itching to try out his smoker, so we did up steaks, and roasted potatoes on it and then did green beans and a Cesar salad as well as a fresh loaf of bread we made. J & S brought dessert which included this delicious cheese cake with fruit and cupcakes for the kids. Check out my new dessert plates!! Not that you can see, but they say "have your cake and eat it too".

They left just before we started Noah's bedtime routine, but it was a nice afternoon/evening and dinner was pretty great!

Sunday morning we baked bran raisin muffins for breakfast, as well as put on another loaf of bread! We worked up in Noah's room hanging shelves and got his laundry put away.

I ran into town to get some groceries, which was crazy busy - no wonder I don't grocery shop on weekends if it can be helped.

When Noah went down for his nap, I decided to tackle a little DIY project for book shelves in his room, since I was struggling with finding the right baskets. I had b get this fabric months ago, not sure what I would use it for and then I realized it was perfect for Noah's room. Our theme is Noah's favorite things, so you can expect to see baseball, trucks, tractors, dogs, outdoorsy stuff, boating, etc. I know it sounds crazy, but it's really coming together!

I'm really proud of how these turned out. I'm not the best sewer, so when they ended up the same size as each other, I was really impressed! I will say the only downfall is the amount of books they hold. I thought it would hold more. So are trying to figure out a way to remedy this. But here they are:

M's parents came over for dinner and of course Noah loved playing with Grandpa! We have to try to get in as much time this month with them before they head south!

After they left I decided to bake some banana muffins too!!

Monday was back to work for M. I got the call from the dentist informing me I would need to see the dental surgeon. I ended up with an appointment Tuesday to see the surgeon.

It wasn't the best news, it's still gotta come out sooner than later, but it all has to be cleared by my OB next week. Booking the procedure was super tricky for this month, as we have a lot on the go and are trying to plan vacation for February. But we found a potential date that would give me a week recovery, so once it's all cleared by my OB, we are good to go with that.

I will say Noah has been a champ this week with his behaviour. He is back to normal, apparently our rough week last week has resulted in a little boy with working listening ears, that and we are past Christmas haha.

Wednesday night we had dinner at the farm, set up their box, and fit bit and then I worked with my MIL to learn how to do the books and payroll while they were gone. It feels nice to have something to focus on aside from maintaining the family home and Noah!

Last night was the first night of the 21 day fix for myself and second night for M. I'm hoping to get in 4/5 workouts a week if I can, but even if I get 3 in I'm happy.

A Pre-Christmas Weekend

What a super fun weekend we had around these parts!! Noah experienced soo many firsts and M and I loved being there right along with him to watch! It was great!! Oh and another great thing - we didn't cook dinner all weekend!!

Friday morning I took Noah to the doctors since I forgot about his appointment the day before! Oops!! Luckily they were able to get him in because I had feared he was coming down with croup. He had a cough start up over night that I had never heard and he has had a cold before! The doctor said it is likely due to the dry house, as his lungs sounded great and she gave him a clean bill of health. So we put a humidifier in his room and that was it!

Friday night we were supposed to goto a Christmas Party, but M worked later than they planned and therefore it was just too late to go with Noah, so he grabbed dinner on his way home. We had a nice quiet evening, which allowed me get some more work on a Christmas present I am making!

Saturday morning started off with a hair cut for M!! Then we headed over to the firehall to have breakfast with Santa!! My sister and get kiddos joined us too!! Noah did great with Santa!!

And we decided to do a family photo too!! We loved seeing Noah's reaction to Santa and were happy that it went well!! This may in fact be the only smiling one we get for a while, although he has never made strange with anyone yet.

We tried to get one of all the cousins together, but we failed. Brandon wanted nothing to do with Santa!

After breakfast, we went home and Noah had a nap right up until it came time to head to the farm for a Christmas gathering!! Noah did great at opening presents, actually unwrapping one and he loved pulling tissue paper out of the bags! I took my camera and failed to use it! But I did steal these from Mike's cousin:

Noah enjoyed Turkey for the first time too!!

We headed to the Santa Claus parade in the village after dinner. Noah seemed to enjoy yet another first and luckily it wasn't too cold out!! Daddy was in the parade with the fire department!

Noah had one busy day and went to bed great!

Sunday morning we got ready for our family photoshoot!! Noah was in a great mood for it and was super smiley!! I can't wait to get them back this week!!

Afterwards we went to the farm to pick up a Noahs presents:

Sunday afternoon was spent tidying up the mudroom, doing and putting away laundry!! I swear this job is never ending!! I managed to get Noah to bed myself!! We are going through a stage right now where he will only let Daddy put him to bed, so we are working on fixing it and actually had success lady night! We will see how it gives tonight when Daddy isn't actually home!!

After Noah was in bed, M and I watched Brian's House together while I finished up a few projects, including bathroom curtains:

I'm soo happy with how they turned out!!

I will fore warn you that this week is super busy again, but I am going to try really hard to blog! My cousin from out west is home and I finally get to meet sweet baby Briar!! I am also going to see The Social this week, which will also include my first train ride!! Stay tuned!!

Hope everyone had a safe and fun weekend too!!

Weekend Rewind

What a gorgeous weekend we had and I cannot help but to say it is about time!!! If only it was supposed to last!!

This weekend zoomed on by! Friday night the ball team took another win! They are on a streak now!!

This little man lasted longer than I thought! But with that being said he did have a nice 2 hour nap in the afternoon!!

Saturday M was busy doing a backhoe job around the corner, so Noah and I hung out all day long! While he was napping I finally finished his rag quilt:

More on this to come with a tutorial!

M came home for lunch, with extended an invitation from the people he was working for to come hang out poolside and meet his wife and kids. So Noah and I got into our swimsuits and walked back down with M! It was great meeting another SAHM in the village and her 2 little boys! Noah and I did enjoy a swim, as the weather was nice and hot!! I even put on my brave face and dunked Noah in the pool!! He did well!! He cried afterwards, but I think it was out of shock that I actually did it! He didn't gasp for air or anything! He calmed down shortly after, but did flash his stink eye at me:

Noah went down for a nap in his stroller while I continued visiting. I decided I better get this snoozing baby home soon and get supper going, as M figured he would be finished shortly, however he ended up being longer than he thought!

We decided on burgers since they would be quick, but just as they finished M got a fire call, so there I found myself trying to get the burgers off the BBQ with a screaming baby, who was upset Daddy left! Little things like that seem like such a big deal to Noah when he is tired! This only two naps a day makes for a long evening!! I finally got Noah calmed down, ate dinner and just as I was considering bathing him myself, M got home! As the 2nd department on call they were able to deem it controlled (it was just some smoke from an electrical panel) and the primary department could handle it!

Sunday started with a sleep in, heck even Noah slept in until 6:45 and then 9:45!! I was up before him! M and I didn't waste much time, laundry was going, after I fed Noah, M took Noah out with him to do some running around, brought back Keg (the dog we are watching this week) to play with the dogs for the day. I shaved both dogs down! Hard to believe they still have hair:

Since it was grooming day, we ended up bathing Keg too! He is just such a big dog (Great Dane crossed with a Saint Bernard). M loves having him here!! He is a tall persons dog, that is for sure, as he is taller than my waist:

Excuse my lazy Sunday attire haha

I had such a long to-do list for the day for us both to complete and although we didn't get around to everything, we did get a good chunk done including M fixing the one gate on the deck that I cursed at every time! I started making my maternity photo book, got some laundry folded and put away, we enjoyed a swim with friends - yes I actually went in our pool for the first time this year!! It was 75! Brrr! But I vacuumed while I was in there! We enjoyed a nice steak dinner and then an evening walk:

Gracie and Lily look soo small beside Keg!!

We settled into our evening bedtime routine for Noah and then enjoyed some downtime!

Today Noah has his 6 month shots! Wish us luck!!

5 on Friday

Thank goodness it is Friday!! That is about the only good thing to come of the weekend so I hear, because we are about to get nailed again with more bloody snow! I know it's winter and all, but we haven't had this much snow in.... Years!

So M and I decided we better hit up the hardware store this morning and get whatever supplies left he will need. So be picked out faucets for the shower, bought drywall, flooring underlay, a cool blind cleaner (It was $1) and I hate cleaning blinds, so if this makes my life easier it was a well spent dollar!

I will be happy when these hardware store trips are done. Oh and maybe the decisions too!! I just have paint to pick now!

The bathtub came out last night. We found a live electrical box behind the shower... That's safe!! Soo glad we are doing this now!!

We also stopped at Walmart so I could get my list of postnatal supplies (and maybe some M&M's) so I can get my hospital bag packed!

I finally got in front of the sewing machine yesterday and made a diaper bag change pad:

as well as pack and play change pad sheets:

On today's agenda... Burp cloths and tank top strap conversion to nursing straps, because I haven't found a nursing tank I love yet.

This weekends plans are just more organizing in the nursery while M is working in the bathroom all weekend!!

22 Weeks

How Far Along:
22 weeks - November 3 - 8, 2013

Size Of Baby?

I actually had to look up what kind of fruit this was, as I didn't recognize it! A papaya!

Baby weighs a pound this week, can see light and dark and hear things going on out in the real world! Some websites are saying I am in my 6th month now, although I thought I was 5 months at 20 weeks? Soo confusing!

Maternity Clothes?
Still mixing in the odd non-maternity shirt! But I will be sticking to my maternity jeans. I have been try to take outfit of the day pics, but I'm not great at it, so bare with me!  I did wear a whole non-maternity outfit this week as well:

I hate the lines maternity jeans leave:

This shirt is non-maternity! Love making older options work still!

Non- maternity sweater that I paired up with a vest afterwards:

Stretch Marks?
None yet.

Gender?
We will find out in March!

Sleep?
The pregnancy wedge is back in use. I have been tossing and turning a lot as well, just unable to get comfy. I also think the baby enjoys wedging itself into my sides, either that or I am growing! But sleep has not been great. As soon as 3 AM hits, I am struggling to fall back to sleep.

Baby Purchases This Week:
My Tracy Anderson Pregnancy Project finally came in! Although I am more than half way through my pregnancy, I figure no time like the present to start it, as it goes by month anyways.

I decided to order Baby V a chevron crocheted blanket, since I can't figure it out and it is done and being sent my way:
Meg from Life Of Meg made it!! Check out her etsy shop here!!

These blankets:

I've been eyeing them up since we found out we were expecting and saw them as the last ones on the rack, so I scooped them!

Needless to say baby will have a lot of blankets, which I am a fan of, nothing better than being cozy! Hopefully the baby likes blankets as much as me!!

Made this Week:
I made my infinity nursing scarf. It might be a bit big, so I may need to move the seam in, but I figure I will wait until baby gets here and go from there, as it only took a few minutes to make!

Still working on the baby blanket I am crocheting!

I also made baby a blanket with chevron minky fabric and cotton anchors! Love the combination but the fabric was a pain in the butt to work with!

Cravings/Aversions?
Loving me some grilled cheese!! I went a whole day without any candy! I shouldn't be bragging about that, but it was a huge accomplishment! I've been horrible about it lately if I am being honest! The box is almost gone and I am actually happy about it!! Cheesies came home again this week!

Movement?
Still kicking up a storm and leaving me guessing what's a kick, a punch and I think I figured out a roll! Also saw my tummy distort in front of my eyes - that was interesting! M felt the baby move again, and this time he was sure! He was soo excited!! I loved that very moment!

Feeling?
The runny nasal drip is back, as well as the sneezing, luckily its not as bad as it was with allergies on top! Oh and nose bleeds that make you wonder if you will bleed out through your nose... Sorry for the TMI but it's bad!

Back pain is back but in my mid-back this time which I'm sure us due to my changing body.

I also started to feel what I believe to be Braxton and hicks contractions, which are entirely normal at this stage. Nothing major or painful, just uncomfortable, but luckily they are quick and don't last! More or less a tightening feeling in the wave of cramps.

Highlights:
This week has been pretty straight forward, just the way I prefer it!

We had a few long days at the beginning of the week, and by the end of the week, I was done on all grounds. I was physically, mentally and emotionally drained!

Making some of the baby projects has been fun though, since the nursery is on hold until M is able to finish painting it!

We hit 120 more days to go this week!!

Crazy to see we are more than half way through the 2nd Trimester too!

Belly Button?
In

Best Moment of the Week?
M feeling the baby kick again, it had been almost 2 weeks since he thought he first felt it and would run over at the chance to feel it, but the baby would stop! Baby ALWAYS kicks when I go to bed, and that is when M finally felt it! It was such a sweet moment, one I will remember forever!

Crazy Pregnancy Moment:

At one of my Mom's doctors appointments at the hospital, the doctor decided to nit show up, soo we ended up leaving to go to another appointment, but before leaving I was sure to tell the receptionist that although it wasn't her fault, if she could pass along the message that this was highly unprofessional and a down right waste of our time and parking money, and that we were not impressed. I tried to remain polite through it, and she assured me she would let the doctor know and asked if we would stop by on the way out of our next appointment to reschedule/ or see him then. So I agreed to that. However Mom's appointment upstairs was 2 hours long, which we were not impressed about. My sister calls me and tells me that this very nice doctor called her at home trying to find mom and that he had missed his appointment with her earlier and was apologizing and was now waiting downstairs to see her if she was still at the hospital. My opinion at that point was good.

Then we go meet the doctor and he was SUPER nice! Part of me hoped that the receptionist didn't let him have it, like I instructed her! Turns out is was a miscommunication between his staff and himself. I actually felt bad!

Bump Pic:
I feel like this dress doesn't photograph well, as I got a lot of compliments in it, but to me this pic doesn't do it justice! I usually wear a belt with it, but with my bump sitting higher it wasn't comfy!

Baby is moving on up, as you can see in this pic!

Looking Forward To:
Getting the blanket in the mail, as well as a special onesie I ordered for the baby!

What a Week!!

Thank God it is Friday!! This week has been one I am glad to see over, not that anything dramatic happened, it was just long!!! Too looong!

Monday was a photo shoot that I was wrapping up for a corporate company, but the staff didn't show up on time, so I was stuck waiting. I was home by 7 PM - shoot was for 3 PM with only 4 people... that should tell you how it went. I'd love to say I was snapping pics the whole time, but that was not the case either. Enough said.

Tuesday I had appointments to take my Mom to and they were long, one doctor didn't show up for the first appointment, but then ended up calling us and meeting us after her other appointment, equaling to another really long day! I left the house at 11 AM and was home by 7 PM. M keeps joking that I am working part-time.

Wednesday I vowed to stay home, and did just that, although I did a ton of housework, as well as some baby crafting!

Thursday I woke up to find that Jazz had peed on the dogs bed. Her first time since being medicated. I was not a happy camper. We had just started her weaning off the medication and was down to every other day. Turns out she will be taking them everyday for life... I called the vet and then went and picked up more of her pills. Jazz has been heavy on my heart lately.

Thursday evening, M attempted to help me with pinning my blanket together to sew, and we were having issues, because when I pre-washed the fabric it must have shrunk to a weird size. We were both super frustrated!

Today, my nose is crazy from nose bleeds to being super sensitive to smells. My scentsy smell that I usually like smells like a cleaner, the cat and dog food is just horrible... the list goes on. It is also snowing again today, mixed with ice pellets, luckily it isn't sticking around. The good news is I went grocery shopping and they had cheesies in stock! They also had these super cute blankets for the baby! I had wanted them since we found out we were expecting! I grabbed the last one on the rack!

Other good news is that we have picked a winner from the give away we were doing for my sister's jewelry. The winner is fellow bump buddy, due just a few weeks before me: Hilary!!! Congrats!!!

This weekend M is in training again for the fire course! Last one! I have a little guys first birthday party to go to and photos to get edited.

Have a great weekend!!!

Weekend Rewind

Weekend One down without M around - one more to go! But we made the best of the weekend with the time we did have together!!

Friday night we had a Halloween Party to go to, M and I usually go with a couples costume and this year was no different! I have waited 4 years to dress up a pregnant belly!! A milestone we completed this weekend!

M was a chef and I was the oven

and Baby V was a BUN!

Although we weren't able to stay late, we were happy to be able to partake in the event!

M was up super early on Saturday and off to his fire training!

It was a cold, rainy and windy day. Not as windy as it was on Friday - that wind snapped my ornamental tree in my front garden! I am actually upset about this!

Back to Saturday - I luckily got dressed in the morning instead of staying in my jammies, because M's friend J stopped over with their dog and wanted M to go on walk with him. So I decided to go in his place, despite the dreary weather, I knew the dogs would love it! Luckily the rain held off while we were out! We had a nice visit. I was less than impressed when we arrived back at home to find Gracie in a damn mud puddle. What is with this dog and mud!?

I edited some photos, showered and got ready to go to little K's 2nd birthday! When M got home, he changed and we headed over right away as it was pretty much 6:30. We stayed and visited while she was opening presents and then headed out for dinner with M & J, just to the pub here in town, as they had not eaten either.

Sunday M was gone again super early. Of course the clocks all turned back, which took some adjustment, but I still managed to get a lot done around the house.

I finally finished the laundry and we no longer have a contamination room!! We have a laundry room again!!

The pets were reunited with their toys, Lily was happy to have her favorite toy back:

I popped into town to meet my sister to grab the fabric she had picked up from the post office in the US for me!

Then I finished editing a photo session, which I am always happy to have completed.

Dinner was on and when M got home, we took the dogs for a chilly walk while supper finished cooking. We managed to relax the rest of the evening.

Today I plan to make an infinity nursing scarf, now that my fabric is in:

And then I have a photo shoot this afternoon!

Remember to enter into my give away! You don't want to miss out!
Go HERE and enter! Please!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!
