Weekend Rewind

Likely the most boring weekend rewind in a while - just sayin!!

Friday night Noah was off to the lake for his first weekend sleep over!! M and I ordered take out from the restaurant and hung out in a quiet house before he headed to ball and I headed to hang out with the ladies with Emilya! She stayed awake the whole evening and flight sleep like a champ fort he whole girls night, but she was at least happy while doing it!

Saturday morning we all woke up at 7:30, I got some laundry started and we picked up the house a bit. We face timed with Noah to see how his first night away on the boat was, and it went well, aside from waking up early!

We packed up for the ball game and headed out!! I will say Emilya travelled not to badly this weekend!! Fingers crossed she's growing out of it or getting better at entertaining herself! Once we got to ball park, I put her sleep and enjoyed watching the whole game, interruption free without worrying where Noah was! They won that game, but had a huge gap inbetween games, so we welcomed the team back to our house inbetween games.

The kids swam, we ordered pizza and relaxed for a few hours. M and and I at least enjoyed getting the photo updates of Noah's weekend away - my one request haha.

The guys won their next game and then didn't play again until Sunday at 12:45! I had a pounding headache, thanks to his head cold M shared with me, so we picked up supper and came home! I enjoyed a soak in the hot tub, which helped my headache and then we had a quiet night! Pretty sure I was in bed by 10 PM!

Sunday morning we were all up by 7:30 again! M and I decided that a full weekend away from Noah is just too long, plus then M doesn't get any time with Noah! We will stick with overnights instead!

I finished making the zucchini loaves - the zucchini our neighbour gave me made 8 loaves in total!! We are going through freeze them! We hung a few pictures in Em's nursery, cleaned Noah's room and I had a quick shower before we headed back to ball!

The ended up with only 9 players and got mercied!

So we headed home with a tired Emilya and while she napped at home with M, I ran into town and grabbed groceries! I also bought a dual DVD player for the car to see if it will help distract Emilya by giving her something to focus on!

Noah didn't get home until 6 PM! M and I were pretty antsy to see him and we did get the biggest hugs when he got home. We had dinner with M's parents, and played for a bit before they went home and we got everyone ready for bed!

This little lady was especially happy to see Noah, although she learned how to make up for the noise she was missing and was constantly chatting all weekend!!

We all sure missed this squish this weekend! But he did have fun at the lake with Grandma and Grandpa!!

So there you have it, a rather quiet uneventful weekend it was, and as much as it was a nice break, just too long!!

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!! We are having a quiet day today!!

Weekend Rewind

This weekend was jam packed with soo much family fun and spent making memories!!

Friday night I was supposed to have the babysitter come again, however it ended up storming out, so M's game was cancelled out! We were considering going out for drinks for M's birthday, but knowing how busy our weekend was going to be, we decided to stay home!! I might end up leaving Noah with the sitter yet right?? This is the 2nd time this has happened!!

Noah had us laughing so hard - when it thundered out, he was quick to tell us in his take caution voice that "the dinosaurs are comin". Soo funny!!

Saturday morning was a super early start in this house! Thanks to a thunderstorm rolling through at 5AM... M was with Emilya and I went up to Noah. He doesn't usually wake up to storms, but he is such a light sleeper in the mornings, we weren't surprised. So I laid in bed with him for a while until the storm passed, however M ended up needing to go up again and got him to fall back asleep. He thinks it is play time when I try to put him back to sleep, but apparently Daddy means business... I can at least put him go bed for naps and bedtime!!

The crummy weather at home didn't hold us back from heading to the lake for the day! And you know what, we had perfect weather all day. Our car rides getting there were disasterous - thank you Emilya, but we had a great day out on the water. When we got back to the dock rain started and it thundered during dinner, but we had a fantastic day!

The fun didn't stop on Saturday though, we had a fun day planned for Sunday!! We decided to hit up  African Lion Safari!! Although it was pricey, it was soo much fun!!

We decided to drive through the safari in our truck instead of taking the bus, which was awesome!! The animals were all pretty active, as it wasn't too hot out! We got up close with the male lion, who came right up to the truck window! The giraffe walked right in front of the truck, which Noah was the most excited for!! He's had giraffes on the brain for weeks!! He thought the monkeys were pretty funny, didn't want them on our truck! The ostrich was pecking at the window and he didn't love that, but over all he really enjoyed the experience!!

He saw a stuffed giraffe on our way into lunch and wanted it, but we managed to get by without it! We had a good lunch and then hit up the splash pad!! What an amazing splash pad!! It was huge and Noah was just tall enough to be able to do all the slides!! And that he did, over and over "again Mommy?" He had a few mishaps ending up head first, and right after I ended up catching him, a big bucket of water dumped on us, soaking my dress... I did have my swimsuit on under, but man was I wet!! So M was on Emilya duty and I was on Noah duty! Luckily the water was warm! We played there for over an hour until Noah was starting to get physically tired - not that he would admit it! He didn't want to leave, however a certain Daddy promised him a giraffe if he did!! So we went to pick out a giraffe and Emilya got a sloth!! I was hoping to get her the flamingo, but she cried when I showed it to her! I showed her the sloth and she had instant smiles and giggles!!

M and I were soo proud of Noah for how good he was! He listened like a champ, heck he even held our hands and walked instead of ran. He was a perfect 2 year old!!

You bet he fell asleep on the way home with Henry... Yes, that is the giraffes name!! And he is no small giraffe.

We managed to convince him to continue his nap when we got home and he slept for 2 hours! We had to wake him for dinner, since we had to eat a bit earlier because M had a ball game!

He was pretty good at the ball game too!!  However we knew it was bath and bedtime by the time we got home!! Both kids went to bed really well!!

Today we are having a quiet day at home! And tonight this Mama is getting a much needed hair cut and highlights!

We have a busy week ahead of us!!

Labour Day Weekend Rewind

We had an excellent weekend to say the very least, but let's be honest you know me and I am not one to say the least, so here is what went down:

Friday was birthday. I meant to post, but found myself not quite ready to reflect on being 30!! Wow! That will be coming your way maybe tomorrow!! I had a nice low key day, the weather was nice, we went to. M's ball game, which they won and then out for wings after!

Saturday we had an appointment with the bank regarding this insurance claim renovation, which went great and then we did a grocery run.

When we got home, we had a tired little boy who went down for a nap and did some housework and yard work while he napped for (2 hours) - I put that in brackets because we could hardly believe it!! Haha.

Carrie and Steve came over for a visit and dinner, which was great because we don't get to visit often enough with them living all the way up North!! Noah enjoyed his visit with them both, especially when. Carrie shucked the corn haha - he would laugh soo hard at what we are assuming were the noises? Not sure, but we were all laughing by the end of it!

Carrie brought these delicious mousse desserts from St. Jacobs market and I am needing to go there myself for more!!

We had a great visit and can't wait to see them again in a few weeks!!

Sunday we stuck around home, as it was hot but gloomy! We did spend sometime outside on the swing set and we tried the pool, but Noah was not in the mood for a swim! Noah did try blueberries and loved them!

Still can't believe he is 6 1/2 months old!! Wow!!

And to top my disbelief he started sitting all by himself! He isn't 100% sure of it yet, but craves that independence!! We find the bumbo must be helping with strengthening his back! He also had some quality time with the dogs when he was supposed to be doing "tummy time" but just rolls over instead! Little stinker!

Sunday night we had a nice roast beef dinner, and settled into a normal bedtime routine since Noah has been off for a few days with the my birthday, ball, company, etc.

Yesterday we decided to head down to the lake despite the gloomy skies and raining falling. We packed up and headed down and by the time we arrived the clouds were breaking and it was a gorgeous hot day on the water!! Noah actually enjoyed himself too, which made it a lot better!! I will let some pictures do the talking:

Noah's personal "pool" on the boat:

Our family photo attempts, with hot and humid crazy hair on my part:

Grace trying to convince me to take her for a swim:

And of course some snuggles:

Of course Noah protested napping aside from on the boat ride in and out, so needless to say he was tired. Our drive home was rather chaotic with a few stops and a fussy baby, a car sick wife and tired pups! We were all happy to be home and grateful that the lake is only 45 minutes away, although it took us a lot longer to trek home this time!

A storm was rolling in, so we enjoyed a few snuggles with Noah before putting him in bed! He thinks laying in M's spot in bed is the best thing:

Overall it was a fantastic day ending a great weekend!!

Long Weekend Loving

Wow, it's August and the first long weekend is done and over with!!

We had a fantastic weekend!! Friday started off with a win for the ball team. Noah was fast asleep in the stroller so we went and grabbed a beer at the pub here in the village afterwards.

Saturday was nice and low key! We attempted to start cleaning out the toy room, but it was too hot and our air doesn't circulate the upstairs properly, so we decided to give up! The weather was pretty gloomy and it was stormy all around us, despite being hot, but we managed to sneak in a walk.

Sunday morning we packed up and headed down to the lake for Noah's first sleep over on the boat! We went out on the water, and it was gorgeous! We could see storms on land, but none of them reached us!

Noah on the boat is hit and miss. I'm sure he gets a bit of motion sickness, as he is waaay more pukey on the boat, but he doss well. The water is too cold for him, but we are working on figuring out a way around that. The sun was another big factor, because not only is it super sunny, but there is a sun glare in the water too!

Sunday night was pretty stressful for us all, M went to put a super tired Noah down to bed on the boat and Noah lost it. He was sooo upset, so we kept him up a bit longer after finally calming down, I put my music on my phone on and we took the dogs for a walk and came back with a sleeping baby! Success!! However getting him to settle on the boat was another story, part of me wanted to pack up and head home. But he finally relented and slept all night long.

Monday was much better!! We attempted to make Noah a little pool since the lake water was too cold for him, but he still wasn't a fan after some time if trying it!

Grandma and Grandpa gave M and I some down time and watched Noah while we relaxed for a bit! It was great!!  I'm glad Noah was more co-operative on Monday! I think he was starting to get used to it.

Still can't believe it is Tuesday!

{weekend rewind - lake style}

We had a great weekend, not quite as productive as I would have liked, but we did our best!!

Friday we had the structural engineer back out, they cut a hole in the roof and well... It doesn't sound good!! But instead of stressing about it, we will wait and see what insurance says - although if you know me, I'm stressing about it!!

Friday night - baseball... Noah wasn't a fan of the cold weather or the fact that they lost!!

Saturday morning M worked, but Noah and I got some house work done. And some playtime:

When M got home, he attempted to install the new dishwasher to learn half way through that we needed a part to install it. I had lasagna going, sowe had to finish cooking it first and put it I. The oven before we left, so M cut the lawn instead while he waited!

Once we could put the lasagna in the oven, we ran into town for the part, came home and the lasagna was ready, we enjoyed a nice dinner and then M hooked up the dishwasher!

Once Noah was in bed, he went outside and got the pool pump hooked on so we could finish filling the pool! I'm hoping to have it up and running this week!!

Sunday was M's first Fathers Day! We all enjoyed a sleep in, even though I had to force Mike to sleep in. We put the new dishwasher on - love it!! Quiet and cleaned really well!! Then we packed up and headed to the lake!! Noah's first trip to the lake!!

We got M a hot stone massage for Fathers Day!!

And now I will let the lake pictures take over:

We stopped for dinner at KFC on our way home!

Today Noah is 4 months!! 4 months??? Can you believe it?? I can't!! Daddy came with us today to get his shots and this Mama did much better!! Actually Noah did better this time too because they did two shots at the same time - less traumatic!!

Happy Monday friends!
