A Sneak Peek At The Kitchen

Soo remember when I said M had a fire course this past weekend? Well it was cancelled because they had no power!! Soo many people were without power over the weekend! 4 days... flooded basements and all! But we are lucky! The neighbours across the street - not so much:

But on the upside... it is +18!!! Gorgeous out!!

Friday night rolled around and believe it or not my partner and I won the prizes!! I also found this new wine:

Saturday M started to tear up the old kitchen counters...
Here is a look of what used to be:

Retro...

Topless:

Gracie and Lily did fine with it all until the vacuum came out... 2 beds... 2 dogs.. 1 vacuum
Can you guess who hates the vacuum more? Lily!!

We had to make a trip to Costco to buy a faucet and you can't buy a new faucet without a new sink. Right?

Well I didn't the faucet I wanted, and the sink is a bit overkill:

Everyone needs an industrial size sink right?
So we had to get an industrial size faucet too. We named her!

Introducing Farrah:

She is soo big she needed a name!

I told M as long as he does the dished he can pick what we get. Overall not a bad deal right? And the prices were right!

Don't worry that curtain came down!

M didn't finish until 11 PM Saturday night and was back at it Sunday and I am happy to announce we Phase 1 of the Kitchen Reno is done!! I will get a pic up of it soon!

M took me to the farm store on Sunday as well because he needed new coveralls for work, so I found these for myself!

Some nice new rain boots!! Its soo muddy at the farm I think they will come in handy!

I got a call today from the vet and Lily's blood work came out excellent!! We were all surprised!! Our vet is going to talk it over with an internist and see if we can cut back on some meds!! I almost feel relieved!!

Ugh... It's Vet Day Today....

Today, I have to take the dogs to the vet. I have avoided going to the vet myself ever since this day when I had to leave Lily there! My heart literally broke and continued to break as her health issues unfolded. It doesn't help that the last time I went I had to take Binx and leave her too!

The fact that we almost lost her, and I remained strong and fought back those thoughts, makes me think I just knew it wasn't time. But the fact that we almost Lily still scares the crap out of me! We have our very own little miracle on our hands!

Crazy that it has just about been a year (2 days short) since she was soo sick. But on the flip side, it's almost been a year and she has completely turned her health around! She fought soo hard just to be with us! Dog's don't usually survive liver failure!

But she is here today, she gained her weight back, but she is happy and has energy, is eating, she has finished the hard medications and is pretty much on maintenance now! So here is to hoping she is healthy!!

So I am putting on my strong face and heading to the vets with both Gracie and Lily again today, and I plan to leave with both of the them as well!!

Weekend Recap

Wow... 1 week today and we are on the road!!! Super pumped!! Soo many things are starting to come together!!

Friday night M had ball, and unfortunately they lost - the team wasn't even fun to play against! We were not going to take the dogs, however Lily had other plans and wouldn't let us leave the house without her. She is not a vocal dog, but was barking up a storm at us, which then got Gracie going. Crazy girls! They didn't wanna miss out on Dad's ball!

Saturday M and I went into town and bought some flashlights and laterns, as well as some camping essentials, like toothpaste and what not. We didn't make a list and forgot soo many things! Like a jug of water for the dogs, batteries for said flashlights, you know the silly little things. This road trip really is going to be an adventure because neither one of us has camped in over 7 years! We totally forget what we will need!

We went to the barn dance, but did not stay for the dance, just dinner and it was great!

When we got home, I called Alison!!! It was soo great to talk to her on the phone and she gave us some reassurance for where we are staying, and some touristy tips. We cannot wait to meet them all. The dogs are pumped to meet Cruz!!! This will be the first blogger I have met through strictly blogging and as nerve-racking as meeting someone new is, I feel pretty calm because we talk literally everyday via email or text. I am pretty excited about it all!!! I am sure Justin and Mike will hit it off, they have at least one thing in common: they both love gaming.

Sunday we did some housework before I left for a bridal shower! We had a nice steak dinner and then I ordered my first ever online photo book through shutterfly - hence yesterday's post! Soo pumped!

Today I am editing photos like mad. M picked up the dogs papers for travelling and we got the A-Okay for Lily to travel!!

Oh and M & I are making the switch to I-Phones!! We are pretty pumped about this!

Finale Friday

So has anyone else noticed that TV is beginning to dwindle down for the summer or is it just me!? It seems that this past week quite a few of my shows are airing season finales. Which does not impress me for soo many reasons. How am I supposed remember what happened months ago come September/October?  Although summer gets pretty busy around here, so I will be happy to not have to miss one of my shows!

Wednesday nights is our co-ed ball - which we started this past Wednesday and we lost... but it's okay because we had fun doing it!

Friday nights M has his baseball - they are doing soo well this season!! Although tonight I need to keep score by my lonesome because my partner in crime is busy baking a baby for hopefully another week or two in the hospital. I sent popcorn her way today in hope that she would still imagine our time that is not being spent together in lieu of tonight's game!

Now let's get back to the TV talk...

Hart Of Dixie: What is a girl to do? I kind of like Wade more than George. I'm not Lemon's biggest fan either! Not to mention her name.. Lemon? Really?

90210: Who is going to knock up Silver? And the car accident?! Dixon? Whaaaat?!

Private Practice: I am not sure there was one episode I got through without tears. They dealt with soo many REAL subjects this year. I think Addison should choose Sam obviously! I think Sheldon and Amelia should just date already. Pete and Violet - quit the drama and just love each other! Charlotte, Cooper and Mason - adorable little family! Soo glad Mason has accepted Charlotte, and I loved their moment in this week's episode with him calling her "Mama".

Revenge: Um sad moment when Sammy dies and I am glad Emily and Jack kissed. Not sure where next week's episode is going to turn, with Nolan being caught.

Grey's Anatomy: Okay is it just me or was last night's show graphic? I mean I work in health care, blood really doesn't phase me, but the snaps and cracks... I am even used to that with M's shoulder.. but yuck! So who is going to be left next season? Why did they have to kill off Lexie? And Mark - did he die?

See... my life involves quite a bit of TV... maybe taking a break is a good idea. But there is still The Bachelorette, and Teen Mom/16 & Pregnant - why the hell do I watch this? I am not sure!

I bought a bag of Lily's new dog food yesterday. Luckily the switch should be easy, as I am sticking with the same company (Purina Pro Plan) and the same flavor - Chicken and Rice, but this one is obviously not weight management, because we don't have a weight problem anymore (YaY). However, this food has a lot less Copper in it. I didn't want to put her on prescription food, because Lily and Grace eat the same food. That wouldn't be very cost efficient.

So M and I decided to splurge last night... we bought a pool. No it's not an in ground that we dream of, but it is something we can lounge in and cool down in. Oh and it was on SALE... I saved $50!!! Essentially, it is a kiddy pool for adults!!! I am looking forward to it!! It should work well for White Trash Day too - more to come on that another day!

I am looking forward to a summer full of backyard fire pits, soaking up the sun in the new pool, spending days at the lake, a road trip out west, time with my sweet little family and friends!

Happy LONG weekend friends!!! Stay safe, have fun!!!
