Long Weekend Rewind

Vacation has officially started and the fun hasn't stopped!!

Thursday evening our company for the weekend arrived. They brought supper with them, which we enjoyed poolside, they set up thier trailer and the kids swam and played. After we got the kids in bed, a few more friends joined us and we decided to do a fire, being very careful of course, becaus you bet they posted a fire ban for the weekend because of how dry we have had it, so we kept water on hand just incase. We were crazy and stayed up until 2 AM!

Friday morning everyone seemed to sleep in until 8 AM. It was a rainy morning, which was much needed, although not enough fell.

The kids colored, we made cupcakes and just had a bunch of fun.

We had more company come over for dinner, they set up the tent before we headed to ball park for their first ball game.

While they were playing ball, the kids dance was on at the park! Noah had a blast dancing the night away. He even scored a trip to the playground with friends of ours! He managed to stay up until 9:30, but boy was he tired! We put him right to bed and there wasn't much movement after that! A couple other friends came over and we had a bonfire and hit up the hot tub after getting the kids to bed and stayed up until 1AM!

Saturday morning we attempted to do our strawberry waffle breakfast, but everyone kind of ate in shifts. M had to leave early because he was in the parade, so we cleaned up, got ready, another team mate and his family arrived and we all walked over to watch the parade at our friends house!

Noah was so excited, I loved seeing the excitement, I'm glad we watched it instead of going in it! Emilya slept most of the time, but I ended up having to wear her, as she did not like the sirens.

And yes, Noah insisted on wearing his fire chief hat to the parade instead of his ball cap!

When we got home after the parade, this guy was so busy! He ended up having a quick shower and didn't want to get out:

We went down to the park for lunch and Noah had a blast in the bouncy castle - soo much fun that M had to go in after him! Of course M has the video to go with this, not that I can load a video on my blog anyways (not sure how). We had lunch, watched M's game and then came right home with one tired little boy. I stayed home for the next game, as it was naptime around these parts and that is just something I am not willing to forego!

They ended up winning the game I missed and had a 5:45 game, which put a damper on the dinner plans. M had been smoking brisket all day! But we managed to keep it warm during the game! This time I decided to bring trucks down to the game to entertain Noah and keep him with me. I definetely learned why I don't take two kids to the ball game, although bringing the toys made the big difference for Noah.

They ended up winning the C division! It was great to see some wins under the teams belt now, since they had won any games all season so far!

The team came back to our place after the game for supper, the kids swam and everyone seemed to have fun! We had one person bounce through our patio screen, which was humorous. Time seemed to fly by, because next thing I knew, it was well after 8 PM and we ere scrambling to get the bed.

I did make up a new drink I'm calling "Moms Night Out", which was passion tea lemonade (similar to Starbucks - made at home, with either raspberry vodka/rum or sour puss. It was soo good!!!

We had a bonfire again, lots of laughs and fun and everyone had gone home by 12 AM, and that is when the real fun began - when we started a water fight with the neighbours behind us, by filling up 150 water balloons - thank you to the bunch of balloons hose attachment that fills them up automatically and ties them! We had them made in no time! Turns out they had their kids out still, so we had to be careful! The clever neighbours had a hose that reached all the way to our yard, so needless to say, we did get wet!

We had some left over, and there was a big dance going on down the street at the ball park, so we decided to sit on the front porch and launch water balloons at those walking home. Clearly this wouldn't fly in a big city, but in our little village, it was all fun and games. Even when 2 people brough buckets of water back to throw at us!! We did see a lot of interesting things, but my favorite was the 2 drunk guys with a beer on a bike trying to double ride. It was clearly 15 minutes of pure laughter for us as they tried to figure out how to make it work. That was another 2 AM night.

Let's just say, I was really happy to have kids that sleep well and sleep in this past weekend!!

Sunday morning was the firemans breakfast and Noah insisted on wearing his fire hat again! Our house guests tagged along and left just after lunch, when my Dad arrived from camping.

Let's just say, I had nap when the kids did and when we all got up, Noah was soo happy to play with Grandpa!!

After we put Noah to bed, my Dad, M and I sat out on the front porch and watched the fire works with the perfect view!!

It was an awesome weekend filled with soo much fun and laughter. Despite how busy we were, and having company around all weekend, I was really proud of how well Noah handled it!!

This past week I will recap eventually. We are off to the cottage tomorrow for a week and will be without the internet, but you can keep up with us on Instagram :)

Weekend Rewind. Tuesday Edition

Tuesday... Where the heck did Monday go? Must be December because we are super busy over here!!
Let's rewind to Monday:

Monday we had play group. The people who used to organize every weeks program are only coming twice a month now, so a bunch of other moms, including myself are picking up the slack and working with the church to continue the program weekly. Which means advertising, scheduling activities, story time, etc. Its a bit hectic to start with, but I know it will be worth it in the end to have our very own village activity group and not have to go into town to hang out with other parents and tots! We named our little play group "Kip Kids". We also have songs and stories at the library too, but that isn't as much of a social event, but a planned activity.

The rest of our day was pretty typical, aside from Noah being a bit of a grump, but that's to be expected with his two bottom teeth coming in! At 5:45 PM, I quickly called M to see when he would be home, because I forgot the holiday train was coming through the village. It doesn't stop here like it does in the city, but it is still neat to see. M got home in time, and off we went to the tracks in the truck (it was cold out) and we waited and waited but with good company as friends came down too! My picture doesn't do it justice, but it really was neat to see!

We came home, made grilled cheese quickly and M was off to fire practice and Noah and I started the bedtime routine. And that is when it all went downhill. Noah was in no mood for sleeping. This is the second time I have not been able to put him to bed. So he was up until 10 PM when Daddy put him down. Oh and the best part... In 5 minutes!! What??!! I couldn't believe it! Mom fail!

Moving on to Sunday. Sunday Noah turned 41 weeks! What?? We started with taking his picture for our Christmas cards, which I then ordered right away! M brought up all the Christmas bins and after Noah's nap, we started Christmas-a-fying up just made that one up) the house! Noah loved helping with tree, and especially loved the train:

I just love watching all his firsts, his excitement, the pure awe in his expressions as he experiences. Christmas for the first time and he is at such a fun age to do that! Ya, he won't understand gifts yet, but in all reality that isn't what it is about.

Sunday night we ordered dinner in because we forgot to get something out in the afternoon and then M took a few hours to get Noah down. Once he was down we hit up the hot tub and then off to bed we went!

Saturday morning M was working. The guys came and finished our siding. I got some much needed house work done! I know I promised pictures of the new space, but I need to get some electrical outlet covers first! My Dad popped by with some glasses I ordered for him to engrave. They turned out great!
Noah enjoyed his visit with Grandpa too!!

Then in the afternoon it was time to get ready for the Fireman's Christmas Party! I tried a new hairstyle and failed at taking a pic, but I will redo it and hopefully remember! The party started off with a bang, literally... They ended up with a firecall and the excitement didn't stop there, when one of the doors came down on one of the trucks as it was leaving. Luckily no one was hurt and the damage was minimal.

I will say that Somersby and Sour Puss are really good together, although I really wanted my wine! M's parents were babysitting, so we came home just after midnight.

Friday I partook in some Black Friday online shopping!! Crossed a few more presents off the list!! Now if only they came wrapped??

And back to today... I'm off to the grocery store to get supplies for our cookie exchange tomorrow night!!

Soo much work to do lately and not enough time to do it!!

{ oh HEY Friday }

Today I am trying out a new link up from The Farmer's Wife

This week has zoomed right on by and has been busy, which only makes it go faster!! Next week isn't much better!

1. Noah tried carrots this week and had his first major food meltdown. Not a fan, but he is coming around, either that or he has clued in to the fact that I am going to keep offering it to him! He doesn't mind it mixed with rice! Here is the stink eye that he was throwing my way:

Up next is avocado (which I do not eat) or bartlett pears (which I bought instead of making myself)

2. Loving these new summer spritzers:

I will say the pink can, the name drew me in, but the fact that they taste like raspberry ginger ale is a big bonus!

They are amazing and I have yet to try the moscato one!

3. Noah had a play date with his birthday buddy! Of course Noah was off yesterday from waking up so early and nap protesting, so he was not the smiliest, that is for sure! I am nicknaming him "no nap Noah". But I love seeing these two grow:

4. I made peanut butter chocolate chip cookies last night, but apparently I didn't have regular chocolate chips, but the mini hershey's kisses. I was a little disappointed, but actually the cookies are fantastic with them!

5. We are home sweet home this weekend, although M is doing a backhoe job, but the weather is supposed to be gorgeous, so I am ever hopeful we can get in some pool time this weekend!! It has not been a good pool season that is for sure with our weather being soo cool for us! I also need to make my maternity photobook that I have been putting off!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

What I Am Loving Wednesday

Happy Hump Day Friends!! This week is flying by, just as I expected it to with it being soo busy!! I figure it's been a while since I shared some of my current loves!!

I love that my baby is sleeping right now!! And it's been longer than 30 minutes!! Yay me!!

I love that Binx keeps sleeping in this basket - seriously how cute! Now if she would only stop putting her (luckily it's just a toy) mouse in my shoes I would be even happier! Crazy cat!!

I love that we have been having some super HOT days, despite the storms that have been coming with them, along with the tornado warnings/watches, but better to get that out of the system before the long weekend!! Our yard work is piling up, as it has been storming/raining every night. The dogs would also like bathes!

I made delicious peanut butter chocolate chip cookies yesterday!! This little man just played on his mat while I did so!!

This new gem is finally in my dining room!! I've been looking for something like this for over a year now!!

I have a pedicure tomorrow night and my feet are sooo looking forward to this!! It's been well over a year since they have been shown some love!!

These drinks are currently chilling in my fridge awaiting the long weekend!! Can't wait to try them, as I have only heard amazing things about them!!

I love reading this book to my little man! The first page makes me tear up every time with this line:
"I wanted you more than you will ever know, so I sent love to follow wherever you go." Perfection! Love Nancy Tillman books!!

from the New York Times bestselling author of On the Night You Were Born -- Wherever You Are by Nancy Tillman

I love the strawberries that are growing in my planter!! They are soo good! I don't get very many, but when I do, they are delish!!

Can someone please tell time to slow down??
18 weeks on the inside and the outside!!

A little humor:
So true!

It's true!

That's all I got! Noah and I have some errands to run now!!

Weekend Rewind

This weekend was super super busy, but filled with family and friends, so it was perfect! Heck even the weather was perfect!!

Friday night was ball, which was actually here in the village this week. They tied!! Not a loss!! Way to go team!! M had to work Saturday, so we went right home after ball.

Saturday morning I tidied up the house, bathed Noah for the first time:

Then I got us ready for my cousins wedding. Unfortunately M wasn't able to make it to the wedding because of work. The wedding was nice - short for a Catholic wedding. We had some family photos before my family came back to my place in between the ceremony and reception.

M was home shortly after we all arrived, we sat around, had a few drinks, ate some snacks and had some fun!

We headed in to reception and partied the night away. M's parents came and picked Noah up from the wedding around 8:30 PM, so M and I could stay later. So we grabbed a quick family photo - Noah's first wedding:

That sangria fountain behind me was delicious! I am still not sure how I didn't end up sick since I started with drinking beer and then switched to liquor...

I drank these:
and most likely some more....

Photo-bombed this:

And the rest of the photos will not be posted... but what I will say is that as the night went on, the messier it got and the worse the pictures got... and I decided this morning while reviewing the photos that cameras should be confiscated off dance floors...

We had a great evening, had some drinks, danced the night away, coming home around midnight. Noah was a doll and slept in until 7 AM, instead of 5!

Sunday we had Mike's Aunt Barbara's burial. A nice short service, a luncheon after with family, although the drive home felt like it took forever, but I think it was because we were tired from the night before!

We came home, had a nap, dropped the dogs off at the farm, where Lily refused to wait for M to lift her off the tailgate and when she jumped she fell into a ditch. She is okay, just limping a bit today. Gracie did enjoy the truck ride though!

We went in and grabbed a few groceries and pizza and went back to the farm for dinner.

Then we came home, bathed Noah, put him to bed and we both went to bed too!!

It was a great weekend!

That's A Wrap

Another weekend has came and gone!

Friday I sat out in the sun and have started to get some color and some more freckles...

M stopped home and got the puppy pool out for the dogs. Which of course they loved! They were in it before it was even full:

Gracie was a riot with the hose this year as well. She may have been soo excited that she did puppy sprints around the yard. She also worked on running and jumping into the pool.

I popped down to J's for a glass of wine and then came home to find M home early! So we got dinner going, got ready for ball and headed out.

I may have finished said bottle of wine in a tumbler with a straw at ball.... I added ginger ale - that makes it not soo bad right? Lol. They lost the game anyway! Clearly they should make wine glass tumblers - just sayin'.

Saturday I did some house work and laundry - the housework mainly consisted of filling the new vanity. I actually have drawers in there now and I haven't figured out what is going to go in them yet! Love the extra storage!!

M striped the pavement off our driveway to get it ready to hook up to sewers (we have a septic tank) and I went and babysat Miss Tessa!

When I got home I touched up paint in the bathroom so the counter back splash can go up! M stained the new side and it all just about finished! I'm hoping tomorrow night. I would like this project finished before the sewers get done this weekend - hopefully.

My sister finished my anchor necklace finally!

We popped into town for some groceries and had to stop at the grand opening of our new ice cream joint!

Sunday we were up way to early. We headed down to the lake for Fathers Day, although the weather wasn't boating weather, we enjoyed a dock day. I couldn't take the dogs to the lake again without a swim, so we took them to the end of channel and let them swim. Lily didn't want to get out and Gracie loved jumping off the cliff to get in! The day was pretty perfect, we played some dice poker, euchre, cleaned the boat, headed home and had supper at the farm.

I was wiped and went to bed at 10!

Last Minute

Another weekend has come and gone and this one was pretty busy!

Friday: I meant to blog, but ended up going to London last minute. I managed to get my gel nail supplies from the beauty store, and a new brush which I have needed for a while but had never found one that was just right! I got home just in time, managed to try out one of new nail polishes in dark purple, which I almost spilled all over my new counters when the phone rang! Luckily I grabbed it with my hand before it hit the counters and my hand was a purple mess!

I had a friend and her sister coming over to look at my front gardens to give me ideas! I need to re-home a BIG lilac bush that invades my front garden, move things around, and plant some peonies in the front garden because the sun is burning off my hydrangeas! M came home and we ended up going for dinner at the golf course last minute for dinner! And guess what I found? A new drink that I LOVE!! I typically have a hard time ordering drinks at restaurants for several reasons, one being I don't drink often, two being I don't like beer, strong drinks and I am picky. Well the same thing happened to me, so I just ordered a gingerale to be safe. Then a friend of ours ordered a Somersby Cider, he suggested I would like it knowing how picky I am, so I tried it and sure enough I did love it!! It was delicious! I figured that cider tasted like beer as well, since it can be found on the beer menu! Soo impressed! I am sold on this:

Saturday: I was up early, not as early as M, he had to leave at 6:30 for his last day of fire training! M's Mom and I decided to go shopping for 8:00 at a sale in a near by town. Where I bought this:

I have always wanted one of these since I was a child. It is just like the ones from Cracker Barrel! I got it for a steal of a deal!!

Then I went into work with M's Mom and helped with inventory.

M didn't get home from his course until 7:30 PM so we just had a nice relaxing evening because Sunday was going to be just as busy!

Sunday: M was supposed to be up for 6:00, but that didn't happen. He made it out of the house for 6:30 and off to the fire hall for the Fireman's Breakfast! I was there for 8 to help out and surprised to be the only wife helping out! It was pretty busy. My Dad and sister's little family came out to support as well as M's parents, so we all sat down for breakfast. The school was doing some fundraising as well, so I took M's truck for a truck wash.

I made an appointment in town at Pet Valu for the dogs to have baths! This was amazing! For $15 each, we bathed the dogs and dried the dogs in their facility, which was just amazing! We were able to do them both at the same time because they had 2 BIG tubs! No sore back afterwards, because they were in raised tubs, no 2 loads of towels in the laundry afterwards, no clogged drains, no wet dog smell and the dogs are soo soft, smell great and look great! We are definitely utilising that place again!!

Lily is getting dried

Gracie was loving it!

M and I were soo impressed! We also bought a scrubber for down at the lake! I had no idea they made those, but it took out soo much hair!!

Last night we tried a new chicken! We followed this recipe and it was pretty good! I found it on Pinterest last night:

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
