Weekend Rewind

Wow, another weekend zoomed on by and it was nothing short of fun fun fun!

Friday night was low key. I ran into town to get a few groceries and cake supplies and came home to a child-free hour since M took Noah out with him to do running around. M came home, got Noah ready for bed and then in bed and headed back out to finish running his errands, aka socializing haha. Pretty sure I was in bed by 10:30.

Saturday morning involved a sleep in for me, even though I didn't wake up feeling rested after trying a new pregnancy pillow that I officially hate. I headed up to the nursery and took down all the wall decor so we could see any holes needing to be patched and went through a few bins. Fingers crossed next weekend I get the baby clothes freshly laundered and put away. M and Noah went outside for a bit,  managed to finally get the Christmas decor down from outside.

Saturday afternoon I decided to take advantage of our double digit temps and sunshine and hit up the hot tub for some vitamin D!

Gracie enjoyed laying on the grass since the snow miraculously melted overnight!! Love warm days in February and I'm soo ready to be done with winter and snow and bring on spring!!

I made Noah's cupcakes and my Mom showed up just in time to help tame our wild child... He was just hopping from one thing to the next... A little reading one minute...

Cleaning the next, which I will never complain about!

He had a melt down when M left to help set up for the firemans wing night, which set off a huge red flag for when I was going to leave. Ever since Florida Noah has had some huge separation anxiety issues. When it came time for me to leave he had a huge melt down, blocked the door, hugged my leg, turned down my bribes of peppa pig and smarties, etc. It was horrible and there is nothing worse than leaving your child soo upset. I finally made it out the door, forgetting my ticket on the fridge... Which I wasn't going back for. I drove around the block for about 5 minutes and called the house to see if it was safe for me to goto the wing night. He had just stopped crying, so off I went! It was fun! Even with M being there, it ended up being more of a girls night out for me because M was busy helping. This baby loved the music and dancing, but I will tell you the amount of Braxton and Hicks I felt that night was insane!! I feel like my belly was constantly tight and I did feel soo uncomfortable.

Believe it or not I made it right till the end and didn't get to bed until after 1:30 AM!! I am still paying for this now! Soo tired and my body is just feeling rested after sleep these days. Noah had a great night with my Mom, which was good to hear despite the rough start. M popped home to put him to bed and brought my Mom some wings.

Sunday morning despite wanting to keep on sleeping, I was up by 9, knowing I had my sisters fam coming over around 10. I had to vacuum yet again because Gracie is shedding like a beast these days with the weather bouncing back and forth. I also had to get the cupcakes iced!! I decided to do peppa pig cupcakes, granted they ended up looking like pigs, not exactly peppa, but Noah got the idea!

I decided to try to use up all my icing and ended up with these swirl cupcakes as well!!

Needless to say we had a great morning with family, it was nice and quiet and peaceful, the kids all played well and was great quality time!

Noah loved his gifts as well! He got the IKEA train sets, a fish to swim in the bath tub (but it didn't work, so we will exchange that on Friday), he got a Gordan track master train and a bus! He loved all of it and enjoyed playing the day away with them all!

His reactions were just the best this year and I'm kind of sad that the birthday celebrations are done because this year he really just enjoyed it all!

We did grilled cheese for lunch (Noah's request of course) and everyone left just shortly after 1, just intime for Noah to have a nap - oh and me too!!

Noah just played the afternoon and evening away with his new toys:

We took advantage of a Sunday Family Selfie. Squinty, tired eyes for this mama!!

He found a way to p,any with all his new toys at once!

He also tried to play with the fishy that didn't work! Hopefully he forgets about it until we can replace it! It is supposed to swim around in the tub with him!

And there you have it! We are back to Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Christmas Weekend Rewind

Ok, after this post, Christmas is all caught up! I just have a few posts to get up that I missed out on like Noah's First Birthday and Travelling Home with a Toddler from this summers trip out west!

So I left off our Christmas post with Christmas Day. My Mom had stayed over, so we had a nice quiet morning playing with Noah. We did jump on a few Boxing Day deals like a new external hard drive for M's xbox, a new garbage can for the kitchen, a birthday present for Noah and a few other small things that I either ordered online or had someone else pick up for us, because I hate shopping in crowds!

I took these photos Christmas Eve day and I just absolutely love his expressions and HAD to share:

My MOH from our wedding came over for a visit in the morning which was perfect as usual! Didn't take her long to get in Noah's tunnel and then my Mom too. Noah thought it was quite funny!

And it isn't a visit with Aunt C without a picture!!

I had a nap in the afternoon with Noah, woke up before him so I could do my part of the lemon meringue pie that M started for me and once Noah woke up we headed to my sisters house to celebrate Christmas!

We face-timed with my Dad while the kids opened the presents he had dropped off before he left for Florida. I will say it was weird without him around for the holidays, but I know how much fun he is having Florida and can appreciate that! Thank heavens for Face Time and our weekly phone chats!

Noah really had the hang of opening presents by this point and was happy so find some go-go smart wheels sets which are his current favorite!

Sometimes you have to get right up on the presents to open them!

By the time we finished opening presents the kids were getting a little hangry, hence the non-smiley photo. This was the best we could get and they are all snacking!

We came home just in time to get Noah to bed and just in time for this mama to try her new foot spa!! I will tell you it did not disappoint! I went to bed just before 11:00 PM and ended up with a horrible tooth ache. I ended up staying awake until 3 in pain, then waking up at 4:30 to see if a shower/bath would help relieve it, which it did while I was in the shower. I managed to get some rest from 5-9. I woke up just in time to get ready as my Mom and I were supposed to be meeting my sister to do a little shopping. I will say I was not great company in pain and exhausted.

We may have spent way too long in one store as my mom possibly tried on the whole store... I did get some baskets for Noah's room, but other than that nothing too exciting. We had another family Christmas that afternoon and I was supposed to make taco dip. So I bought the stuff I needed and somehow my sister ended up with my bag. Luckily M's Mom had taco seasoning, so I sent M over to get some while Noah napped. I quickly made the dip, tried to nap again, but my mouth was just throbbing. Everyone who looked at it said it looked like I had cracked or broke off a piece of my wisdom tooth. My Mom showered and got herself ready in the meantime.

When Noah got up, I quickly got ready, ended up getting sick in the sink from either the pain or gag reflex and then we were off to the family Christmas.

By this time Noah was just Christmas'd out and was happy to head home for a bath and bed:

My Mom left Monday morning after Noah got up and we had a nice, much needed quiet low key day!

By Tuesday the tree was down, as I just wanted the space back and Noah actually started to bother with the tree, which was annoying!

And there you have it - an excellent Christmas 2015 (minus the tooth problem)

Another Tuesday Weekend Rewind

You would think we just skip Monday's all together over here lately... But really they have just been super busy and I've been super lazy come Sunday night to write a scheduled post!

Today we started off with a sleep in till 9 AM, which I knew I would regret later, but hoped it would give Noah the extra sleep he would need to skip his morning nap because we had W's 3rd birthday party! It was actually really nice to have a birthday on a Monday! However, by the end of the party Noah was beat, so I ran some errands, picking up some robeez boots for Noah since his snowsuit has no feet in them!

Then we came home, had lunch, played a bit and attempted (several times) to nap, but they just didn't happen! No nap Noah was in full force! Luckily Noah loves this little people barn I bought used for $15 in like new condition! Great buy! I saw it at Walmart for $50 and I ended up getting extra toys with it!

Our day began to fall apart quickly when Noah decided to use his house as a walker and fell face first in it giving himself his first shiner! I'm sure this is the first of many! Walking is dangerous!

On to Sunday - we had a super busy day! We started the morning off with preparing dinner to take out with us to my cousins and then went through the freezers. That is such a big job and it is suprising to me how much food we have that I forgot about! Now I have an inventory! I also went through Noah's clothes and put them into bins! Soo many clothes! Such a big and sad job!

Then we headed to my sisters when Noah woke up from his nap for Brandon's 3rd birthday! Yes soo many 3 year olds!!

He took blowing out his John deer candle quite seriously!

We left my sisters around 2:30 and headed to Guelph to visit my cousin and meet sweet baby Gabriel! We stopped at Costco first and typically we were in and out, I don't know how we luck out with this every time we go to that one in particular and then we got gas for super cheap!!

When we arrived at my cousins, M got dinner warming up in the oven while visiting of course and I snuggled the sweet baby boy! Crazy to think Noah was once this small!! They were born the exact same weight and length and exactly 11 months apart!

We had brought over ham, scalloped potatoes, fresh green beans and baguette for dinner and I made some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies for Melissa!

Noah began to tire quickly, so after dinner we packed up and headed home.

Saturday morning both M and Noah slept in until 9:30 while I had a nice quiet morning! We had a busy day making lots of baby food for Noah! Pears, apples and carrots! We also had Hannah and Brandon over as my sister had a funeral. Little miss Hannah just wanted to help with everything, so when it came to peeling carrots - something she had never done before, we let her try!

About 2 carrots in she decided peeling carrots was difficult (her words) and that she didn't want to anymore! Mike convinced her to try one more and then it was back to playing! Gracie likes to get in on the playing, so I wasn't surprised to look up to find her in the tent with Brandon:

If you look hard you can see Brandon in there too!! Silly kids! I did laugh hysterically when Brandon found Gracie sitting on his blanket! You bet they had a tug-of-war! Noah had a nap and the kids had some lunch. Then it was time to peel apples! Hannah loved this job! She also loved eating the peels!

When that was done we baked some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies to take to my cousin. The kids loved helping me bake:

After the cookies were done and Noah was finished his lunch we headed down the park to play! Our neighbours were there too with their little girl and dog, so the dogs had fun playing and the kids did too!

After the kids left, M and I finally got Noah down for a second nap and then we headed into town to grab some groceries!!

Friday night was pretty low key!

That's our weekend wrapped up!! Holy long post!!

Christmas Recap

Happy New Year!!!

We survived the holidays here and in good health despite all the bugs going all around us!!

Christmas was fantastic!! And oh so much fun with our little guy!!

Christmas Eve Day was spent literally baking all day!! I made pumpkin pie, Christmas Crack, 3 different batches of muffins, hash brown casserole and peanut butter chocolate chip cookies!

We started a few traditions as well, aside from baking, which I would like to do every year, maybe not soo much, but baking none the less! We had pizza for dinner, which this year we bought since it was just M and I to enjoy it, but in the future when Noah can partake, we plan to have homemade pizza on Christmas Eve! I'm sure there will be some years we order in! We love going to the Christmas Eve service at our church in town, although the time was a bit tricky this year, Noah was a champ!! When we got home, we quickly snapped our annual Christmas Eve photo, set out Santa's snacks, read The Night Before Christmas in front of the tree together and put Noah to bed!!

Can't forget carrots for the reindeer!!

After Noah was down, M surprised me with flowers and chocolate recognizing that it was my first Christmas as a Mom!! He is seriously so sweet!!

Christmas morning M was up early, eager for both Noah and I to get up, which we finally did at 8:15! M is a huge fan of Christmas and I love seeing how excited he was yet again for Christmas, just like he used to when we were first married! Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas too but it really is M's favorite and we are sure it will be Noah's too!!

Noah was all set to get started:

Noah infront of all the presents once Grandma and Grandpa arrived!

Lily picked her stocking right up and was about to tear into it, but we decided we better help her!

Santa brought Noah his own little Lazy Boy:

And then we were well on our way to opening presents before Noah needed a nap!

Heck even Santa brought matching Superman costumes for Grandpa and Noah!!

And I finally finished Noah's blanket and needless to say he LOVES it!!

Grandpa was sure to get Noah ear protection for all the heavy equipment! Just his size:

Noah got Daddy Lego!!

And we can't forget the digger!!

Picture with Grandma and Grandpa:

And of course our Christmas Morning Family Photo

Owe enjoyed a nice lunch before heading to my Aunts house for the afternoon and dinner. My Mom came home with us when we left, as we had Christmas with my parents and sister on Boxing Day.

Miss Hannah:

My Dad made Noah his own little toy box:

Noah is soo lucky to have such a crafty Grandpa!! And loved his new toy box!!

And his new racer set!!

Cousins playing together:

Then after dinner we had the kids help out with the dishes, which they both loved!!

This pretty much summed up our Christmas celebrations! We had one the weekend before Christmas with my Dad's side of the family while my cousin was home too!! As well as one with Mikes side of the family as well!! It was a busy, net super fun holiday season and I am more than sure that Noah's first Christmas was amazing, even if he can't remember it!!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas too!!

I am ever hopeful to get back to regular posting soon!!
