36 Weeks

This was written before having the baby. I went into the hospital at 36 weeks 5 days, so this info is leading up to that time, not beyond.

How Far Along:
36 weeks - Feb. 9-15, 2014
Size Of Baby?
A honeydew!

Baby is working hard on learning how to breath on his/her own. Skin is smooth and soft and gums are rigid.

Liver and kidneys are working, as well as the circulatory and immune system.

We hit exactly one month until the due date, less than a month to go! Half way through the week, we found out even less!!

Maternity Clothes?
Pants are getting harder and harder to put on, too bad it's winter time and I can't live in dresses and skirts!!

Excuse the renovation mess in the background! Hopefully it will be dealt with soon!!

Stretch Marks?
Still just a small one, but nothing really noticeable.
Gender?
Team Green! But anxious to find out!! I'm starting to think boy more and more?

What the Doctor Had To Say:

"The wheels are falling off my wagon, this baby is coming sooner than later". We had a rather eventful appointment turn into a triage visit. You can read about it here, just so I don't have to type it all out again.

But to summarize it, my blood pressure is climbing, baby is doing great, weighing in around 7 pounds, but we are not going to make it to March! He was talking about inducing this week, but because my blood work came back okay, he increased my meds for a week, and we are setting a date next week (which is actually this week since these posts are a week behind). We are playing it day by day now. My belly is no longer measuring ahead, in fact a week behind at 35, but low and behold it is only because the baby has dropped soo much!

Sleep?
I can actually hear myself snoring! M says he doesn't mind, but it annoys me! Drooling in my sleep is also excessive these days, probably from sleeping with my mouth open.

Tossing and turning trying to get comfortable and the usual 2-3 times up on average at this point. Waking earlier than usual, but feeling somewhat rested when I awake.

I am also getting more pelvic and hip pain, but that's to be expected towards the end here. The heating pad is helping a little with this.

Baby Purchases This Week:
We bought the baby's teddy bear! After behaving and staying put on Wednesday's appointment, we realized we still hadn't bought the baby a special bear from us. So we found just the perfect bear:
M really wanted to get the puppy dog one, so we might have to buy Deacon the Dog by Jellycats. Might have to be a gift from the dogs lol. But that can happen later!!

Made/Done this Week:
- M got the lamp finished!!
- picture frames are painted, pictures printed (although now I have a few more to do)

- outlet covers are up, wardrobe is shimmed up
- bassinet skirt is on
- paint on the shelves and mobile are touched up

Cravings/Aversions?
Angel Food Cake!

Movement?
Baby is still kicking up a storm in there! S/he does not like it when I sit straight up, I think it might be squishing where s/he is hanging out.

Baby had a lazy day on Wednesday during our ultrasound and during our non-stress-test. I think it was just too much excitement for everyone! But once we were home baby was kicking like crazy.

Feeling?
Much better as far as my cold goes! Just a few sniffles here and there, but I've had them the whole pregnancy! My throat is still scratchy :(

- I'm feeling more and more uncomfortable, but in all honesty, I wouldn't trade it in for the world! I've really loved being pregnant and I know my time is coming to an end rather quickly.

- Braxton and Hicks are more consistent lately.

 - I feel like this baby is going to drop right out of me! Putting on pants/socks/shoes is now a chore, just because lifting my legs almost feels impossible anymore!

Highlights:
Just a few finishing touches left to do, like hanging pictures and what not!

Seeing sweet Baby V, hearing how well the baby is doing, now we just need my blood pressure to co-operate just a little bit longer after this weeks excitement. I can't even say scare, because we are ready, we were just surprised that it will be happening soo much sooner than we anticipated! Baby's have their own schedule right?

Belly Button?
It's still in, but.... We saw it pop out! It was creepy! Baby was sitting straight up my middle, and when I went to roll out of bed, while twisting it popped out. M thought it was cool, I was creeped out! So now we wonder if it will pop! I do feel an outer ridge around it.
Wedding Rings?
Off.

Best Moment of the Week?
Seeing Baby V's sweet face. We had always seen the profile, but never front on and this week we got the baby's nose and lips, as well as another profile!
Look at those pouty lips!! We are in trouble!!

Crazy Pregnancy Moment:
Our doctors appointment. M and I didn't go into our appointment thinking we could be having a baby that day, or even this week. After spending the day in triage, we realized just how soon this baby is coming - ready or not. March 1st is no longer a realistic goal. Playing things day by day and hopefully setting an induction date next week.

Bump Pics:
(didn't get one)

Looking Forward To:
Meeting Baby V!!

35 Weeks

How Far Along:
35 weeks - Feb. 2- 8, 2014

Size Of Baby?

A coconut! How fitting, because I wish I was somewhere warm enjoying a pina colada or two! A girl can dream right?

Hearing is fully developed. If baby is a boy his testes have descended. Baby is mostly developed at this point and is just growing away inside!!

Crazy in less than a month this little peanut could be here.

Maternity Clothes?
Mostly lounge again! My shirts seem to be getting shorter and shorter! I did get presentable a few time this week:

It was a struggle finding something to wear for our maternity pictures, but we got it figured out!!

Stretch Marks?
Still just a small one, but nothing really noticeable.

Gender?
Team Green!

What the Doctor Had To Say:
I'm sure this will be my last week off!!!

Sleep?
It's happening on a minimal basis, especially with this cold. Napping hasn't happened much because of the renovation, and having company over during the time I would nap!

I did snag a nap after our maternity shoot with the heating pad and Lux to help warm me up!

Baby Purchases This Week:
I did buy a net for the bassinet/pack and play to help keep the cats out once the baby is here. So far they haven't had any interest, but I wanted one on hand just in case!

Baby did get a gift this week from N:

Made this Week:
Crocheted - just a few more stripes to go! I really need to buckle down and get it done!

Mobile pieces are done, and the mobile is hung!!

Book shelves were cut, built, painted and hung!! Sneak peek:
This will probably be the last peek into the nursery before the BIG reveal!! Which will hopefully be next week, so I tried to distort the image a bit!!

M has started roping the light fixture.

I started painting the picture frames for the gallery wall.

Cravings/Aversions?
Nacho dip!
Donuts again!!

Movement?
After coming down with a cold, I heard a teaspoon of honey helps sooth your throat? So I tried it and man did the baby go crazy!!! Constant kicking for over 20 minutes!! Won't be doing that again before bed!!

Baby also went a little crazy during our maternity shoot in the snow!

Feeling?
I'm coming down with a cold!! I have a scratchy sore throat :( Hopefully it doesn't last long. Other than that I am feeling great!
Took my first longer trek during our maternity shoot during a snow storm, which wasn't as bad as I thought on my ankle. I did find myself somewhat short of breath at time, but trekking through knee deep snow can do that on a good day right?
I feel like I am starting to slow down, it did take me longer than usual getting groceries. I find I don't walk as fast with baby soo low!
Starting to feel a bit overwhelmed with the renovation mess! I feel like it's taking over. M keeps telling me it will be done before I know it.

Highlights:
Our maternity shoot!! Despite the crazy weather, I am sure it will all be worth it when we see how the pics turned out!!

This weeks focus has really been on the bathroom and getting as much of it done as we can.

I sterilized all my pump parts, a few bottles, and pacifiers. So we are ready to go in that department.

Diaper bag is officially packed and ready to go.

I started making freezer meals, chili and lasagna were made this past weekend. I would like to make up some cookie dough and some potatoe casseroles.

Belly Button?
In, but unrecognizable. Hard to believe my belly button could be soo small. It's not out yet, but it feels soo different to me!

Wedding Rings?
Off. And I forgot to put them back on for our maternity pics!! Fail!!

Best Moment of the Week?
Probably our maternity pics!! I am happy to have had the chance to document this amazing time we have had with this pregnancy! I love that we were also able to incorporate the dogs into the shoot as well!!
I don't have a sneak peak at this point to share, but you can bet I will share one when we get it!!

Crazy Pregnancy Moment:

Donuts... must have donuts! I have actually given in to these cravings more that I should admit! Double chocolate donuts to be exact. I was a bit disappointed when I went and got more on Friday and they gave me an extra donut of M's, instead of double chocolate! Okay I was more than a bit disappointed, but I let it slide!

Weekend Rewind

A busy, chilly weekend it was!!

Friday night M did some drywall/mudding in the bathroom before the water membrane could go up,a s well as wired in the fan. He also hung the book shelves in the nursery!! So of course I filled them up right away!!

Saturday M was off to Orangeville with a rental truck to help move some furniture for his Aunt, while I stayed home and started cooking some freezer meals!! Saturday I made chili for the first time! I ended up getting 4.5 meals out of it! So I was happy with that and it actually tasted really good!

Our tiler came first thing in the morning and dropped off all of his supplies and was back around 1 to put up the membrane. Unfortunately M didnt get home until 2 and missed most of the action. With the membrane up, M was a bit of a stand still as far as working in the bathroom because he couldn't disturb any dust and of course there is more drywall to do!

I actually watched a lot of the Olympics this weekend, which I can honestly say I have never been interested in, but it is some what entertaining!! Go CANADA go!

So we assembled the mobile and hung it, he worked on the lamp while I repacked the diaper bag, sterilized bottles, pacifiers and my breast pump parts, so I could pack that bag too! I also got a lot of laundry done. M ran out of rope yet again for the lamp! So he flipped around the bassinet in the pack and play and added the batteries, since we changed the room around a little bit earlier in the week. We found some time to relax during dinner and watched The Time Travellers Wife on TV.

Sunday we were up early, as A as supposed to come at 8 AM, however he didn't end up coming until 2 PM, so that left time for M to package up the chili, head into town to buy the plumbing parts and more rope, as well as some small jobs left in the nursery like switch plate covers and what not. We got the lasagna started, which I finished later on in the afternoon. The tile went up and I absolutely love it!! What a transformation!!

He comes back Tuesday to grout, so M will have to wait to finish the fan, as he can't cut the outside hole due to dust. So he will work on plumbing for the vanity and lighting in the meantime.

Today I have some running around in town to do, but otherwise I plan to focus on my thank you cards, putting away all the laundry I did on the weekend and crocheting. I still have a few more things I want to make for the freezer, like potatoe casserole and cookie dough, but it's most likely not on the agenda for today!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Facts on Friday

Another cold day out there, and imagine this, I was out of the house by 9:30 this morning just to go get some groceries!! Three stores later, I made it home by noon, needless to say with this baby that has dropped even more, I'm not moving the quickest. I also may have left some of the groceries in the car because I wasn't hauling them up a few stairs to get them in the house - especially knowing they are cans of sauces/beans and supplies for freezer meals I plan to make this weekend.

I did stop at Tim Hortons again and got another 6 pack, this time remembering what kind to get M and sure enough they screwed up my order and put in 2 of his, instead of one. Maybe she felt bad for him - but in all reality donuts are the one thing this baby wants right now. That and chocolate... It's soo bad, yet soo good. I've never enjoyed sweets like this before! I know I'll be paying for it later though!

This cold weather is starting to take a toll on my dogs too. Poor Lily has dry skin on her elbow and sure enough it broke open yesterday leaving blood all over my carpet and her bed. Poor girl! We put some cream on it and that seemed to help, as well as some vet wrap, but she refuses to keep it on! Stubborn girl. And Gracie has a cut on her lip, which I think could be from chewing sticks, but her skin is most likely cracking easier too. Granted they still like the snow, just not this bitter cold. I don't like any of it! Our snow banks are higher than some street signs right now.

Yesterday was a happy mail day!! The vanity came in!! Love it!!
(Excuse the chaotic mess in the background... my nesting self is trying to ignore it)

I also got my first ever Zulily order in the mail!!

The words are perfect and define what hope is for us. And bonus being that it matches the dining room pretty well!!

I also got my Walmart order. I ordered a net for the bassinet, just incase the cats think they can use the bassinet with the baby. They haven't seemed interested yet, but I'd rather have one on hand to be safe! While I was ordering, I decided to get some heat spray for my hair. I had no idea people actually used this, but after having my hair done at the convention a few weeks ago, she told me I had split ends. Well as we all know I curl my hair often and this is most likely the problem. So I bought some heat spray to help protect my hair from heat damage, so I just spray it on before curling my hair now!

I did get the baby mobile done, or at least my part... The rest should be done this weekend, along with the book shelves and the lamp, and hopefully the frames for the gallery wall. I didn't end up printing the pics for the frames today, because I forgot the ultrasound pictures! But that is easy enough!

Apparently we shoud pick a winner of the Pink Blush Give Away??

Leigh wins!!!
 photo lovecorssfit_zps8c434288.png
Congrats Leigh!! I will forward on your info and they should contact you shortly!!

This weekend tub surround should be tiled, hopefully M will finished installing the fan, he got half of it done last night before we went for wings with J&B. He should also be able to tackle a few other things in there. I'm also hoping the nursery will get FINISHED!! Can't wait to share it with you all!!

I plan to make a few freezer meals of lasagna and chili this weekend. Although it just dawned on me I forgot the tin foil containers...

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Weekend Rewind

Our weekend was a productive one to say the least. Although we were nailed with yet another snow storm, as in 4 foot snow drifts kind of storm.

Friday night it all started, the productivity and the storm. The recliner for the nursery came in, so we could finally decide on the room layout, as that was the last big thing we were waiting for in there.

We opted to change the room around despite my original plans, but I actually like the layout now. The chair is big, and so very comfy - I will have no problem feeding the baby in in, or falling asleep in it:

Mike had to get up early to take his parents to Toronto for their flight at 5:30 AM. Needless to say I didn't sleep well, knowing he was going out in the storm and it was nasty out. But they made it to the airport alright and M made it back home, just in time before they shut the highway down. However, the next issue was him trying to get into the driveway. We had 4 ft snow drifts on each side (we have 2 driveways).

So he headed straight to the farm to get the snow blower on the tractor and had it blown out in no time. Our little snow blower died last year, so luckily this was available.

By the time he got home, it was lunch time, so with very little groceries in the house, we managed to make sandwiches. Needless to say we weren't about to go into town to get groceries.

Saturday was Brandon's Birthday, but my sister ended up having to postpone it due to the weather. So I washed all the baby clothes, swaddles, blankets, towels, etc, folded them and found homes for them all!! I also made the crib all up:

We will have to add some color to the wall above the crib with the babies name, once s/he is here and we decide on one!  I'm sure the mobile will help too. I got a lot of organizing done in the nursery, so that was a great feeling. The only things really left are shelves to hang, bookshelves to make, growth board to make, and books to put away. The one thing with gender nuetral, is that you can't fill all the drawers yet, just the gender nuetral stuff.

With the baby living on the main floor for the first 3 months, diapers will need to be stored on the main floor, as well as some sleepers. I fully expect to still use the nursery, but for convenience it will be nice to have a place for this stuff.

While I was busy upstairs in the nursery, M emptied the bathroom, and started gutting it!!

We made homemade macaroni and cheese for dinner (desperate measures over here) and relaxed in the evening after M walked the dogs.

Sunday I got up and started the morning off with baking homemade chocolate chip cookies (Grandmas recipe of course), actually the dough was frozen leftovers from Christmas, so I really just had to scoop and bake them! I will make sure I freeze dough next time, it was soo easy and I used convection bake on the oven for the first time!!

M was helping my Dad move the pool table and a freezer during the morning. When he got home, we went and finally got groceries.

We headed to my sisters for Brandon's birthday and guess who forgot her camera and has no pics?? Oh that would be me. I also almost forgot my purse when leaving there... Can we say baby brain?

Once we were home, we put away the groceries and relaxed on the couch. I watched the bachelor wedding and Grammies (flipped back and forth).

Today I am working on some more baby projects. Which I started off with building the pack and play and it was rather frustrating. Glad we have a small one to travel with, because I would not want to be tearing this thing apart if I planned on using the bassinet/change pad portion!

27 Weeks

How Far Along:
27 weeks - December 8 - 14, 2013

Size Of Baby?

A Rutabaga? Whatever that is!?

Welcome to the last week of the 2nd Trimester!! Baby should weigh around 2 pounds! Baby's retinas are developing.

Maternity Clothes?
Monday was a husband proclaimed PJ day! M had clothes laid out for me, but I wasn't able to get my PJ pants over my cast, so pajama day it was!!

Ended up getting my Pink Blush Maternity order! Loving this top:

Outfit to Wednesday's doctor appt:

Not that you can tell the shirt is a chiffon baby doll with a crocheted bust area - love this shirt and it was a steal -$6. It is also a high-low.
The cardigan is pre-pregnancy and the leggings are maternity.

Stretch Marks?
Still just a small one, but nothing really noticeable.

Gender?
We will find out in March! We did have ample opportunity during this weeks ultrasound as the tech kept scanning over and showing us the baby's bum and bladder. We didn't "see" anything, but we also don't know what to look for. Haha

What the Doctor Had To Say:
Baby is doing awesome! Measuring a full week and 2 days ahead and a whopping 2.7 pounds!!! This makes me feel much better should I have to have the baby early. We will be having another ultrasound around 35 weeks to help us come up with a birth plan, as my doctor still doesn't want me going over due because of my blood pressure. Assuming it remains the same we can go right up to my due date! Baby was breech so s/he also needs to flip around by then, but s/he has lots of time to do that!

He has no concerns with my placenta functioning, which is great, so we just carry on. We go back in 2 weeks!

We also passed the dreaded glucose test!! I am soo happy about this! I was seriously concerned I wouldn't because I am not used to my sweet tooth. But my number was perfect!! We may have celebrated with some cookies!!

Sleep?
Not going so well. In fact it is horrible. I don't know if it's pain that waking me, my nose, or a combination of the above, but sleep is not happening. Thursday night was my first night of actually getting decent sleep.

Baby Purchases This Week:
I bought a bunch of muslin wrap blankets on sale!!
I also bought the soothers I tried to buy last time, but this time they were actually in stock!

Also picture above is the sweetest journal Tiny Prints sent me!! I just love how it turned out and the colors are so true to form, and will match the nursery perfect!! I plan to write monthly letters to the baby in it for the first year! But I am very impressed with the quality and over all turn out of the journal!! It also shipped soo fast!! Thanks Tiny Prints!!

M bought the first 2 boxes of diapers!!! I told him he wins for being the first to buy diapers! He was excited until I told him what he won! First Diaper Change goes to Daddy!

Made this Week:
Crocheting - its about all I am able to do for now ;(

I have found another project I can work on. I am going to attempt the mobile. I just have to get some supplies - which hopefully this weekend I will!

Cravings/Aversions?
Homemade chocolate chip cookies. The cookies I mentioned from above were not warm or homemade! But hopefully I will get some made!!

Tried to have pork chops again this week and I couldn't eat them! Then I remembered it was like this the last time I tried them - that explains why we hadn't had any for soo long! So they are still a big no!

Movement?
Kicks/ punches are getting stronger and stronger!

We stopped by the fertility clinic this week to drop off our card and chocolates and happened to see everyone we worked with there, which was soo nice! Our RE put his hand on my belly and sure enough the baby gave him a big kick. M was a but jealous informing our RE that he had to wait soo long to feel anything and that he couldn't believe the baby would kick so easily for him. I told M it was probably because of the glucose drink I had earlier. Lol. But I am soo very glad we got a chance to see everyone. Won't be long before we pop back in with the baby, which they made us promise we would.

Feeling?
Like I have really popped! I actually had a stranger ask when I was due! Proud Mama moment, especially when everyone is always telling me how small my bump is.

Back aches are bad from sitting soo much and stamina is lower, as I am not able to really exercise at this time easily and boy do I feel the difference. I definitely look forward to becoming more mobile as my ankle permits. I'm walking more with air cast and without the walker, which feels like a big step forward but in small trips only.

Reflux is back with vengeance this week. So disgusting. Needless to say tums have been my best friend and have controlled it instantly without me needing to go buy Zantac.

Highlights:
On Monday we celebrated 3 months to go and 90 days!!!

This is the last week in the second trimester!!

Belly Button?
In, but it is getting flatter and flatter.

Wedding Rings?
On and really loose.

Best Moment of the Week?
 Seeing our sweet baby again.
Crazy how much bigger s/he is. Seeing the baby yawn was soo cute.

Feeling so incredibly blessed!!

Crazy Pregnancy Moment:
Riding around in a scooter at Wal-Mart definitely wins the boat this week!

I told M I felt like I was waddling, as my belly is so much more out front now, and with the air cast on, it doesn't help matters. His response was: "I didn't want to say anything". Enough said. Thanks Hun! 2ish weeks left with the air cast....

Looking Forward To:
Getting out of the air cast.

26 Weeks

How Far Along:
26 weeks - December 1 - 7, 2013

Size Of Baby?

A head of lettuce or an eggplant apparently.

Baby's eyes have completely formed. Baby can tell the difference between light and dark. Baby can now respond to noises.

Maternity Clothes?
Wearing mostly lounge clothes, as I am not able to go anywhere. This air cast is cramping my style, as well as the fact that M is picking out my clothes right now, with some advice from me. By the end of the week I at least upgraded to jeans! Amazing what jeans can do for making a girl feel a bit more human:

I also bought a few shirts from Pink Blush Maternity during their cyber Monday sale! I'm hoping the one I got will work for Christmas! We shall see!!

Stretch Marks?
Still just a small one, but nothing really noticeable.

Gender?
We will find out in March!

What the Doctor Had To Say:
Well he said fracturing my ankle was one way to control my blood pressure. Gave me a high five for it at least being better and told me to take it easy. I asked him my list of questions, if which he was more than happy to go over, as today's resident was pretty much useless. If my blood pressure remains controlled I will be able to carry the baby right up until my due date, but he does not want me going overdue. If my blood pressure rises or anything else comes up, we will start talking about delivery earlier around 38 weeks, but the plan as it stands is we are aiming for March 9!

Baby's heart rate was same as last week (155-160). My placenta is anterior, which explains why all the movement I do feel is low and to the sides.

Next week we go back for the ultrasound, my sugar test, as well as a follow up. My appointments will be every 2 weeks from here on in.

Sleep?
It's not going very well, but I have no one to blame except my damn ankle and my bladder.

Baby Purchases This Week:
The crib bumper and drawer pulls came in this week!! Soo excited!!! I put the crib bumper in the crib and I just love it! I could sit in the rocker and just stare into the crib! The drawer pull screws are a bit too long, but M says it's an easy fix with washers, so he plans to bring some home.

I received the curtains for the nursery!! Love them!!

M hung the rods and M's Mom came over on Saturday to sew the blackout curtains on to the curtains and helped me hang them! We somehow ended up with grease on them, so we washed it (and it came out), but they shrunk! So now M's Mom is coming back again to shorten the black outs.

I feel like every little touch now just transforms the room more and more into the nursery and vision I had in my head, although some aspects are even better!!

Made this Week:
Crocheting - its about all I am able to do for now ;(

M's Mom attached the black out curtains to the actual curtains as mentioned above.

Cravings/Aversions?
Chocolate pudding. It's all I want... All the time!!  I also want homemade, warm chocolate chip cookies.

Movement?
Luckily when you are sitting still you feel a lot more movement, so there is at least something to entertain me often.

Because my placenta is anterior, I often get most kicks off to the sides or low. The ones in the middle are there, just not as strong as the side ones.

Baby has also taken to dancing on my bladder this week.

Feeling?
Overall pretty well. The pain from my ankle is starting to subside slightly, and aside from some muscle aches in my abdomen most likely from falling or trying to get around and back aches from "bed rest" I am doing well!

Highlights:
I finally got up to see the nursery with the furniture in place! Love it!! I haven't decided on the exact furniture layout yet, but seeing everything in the room, I'm soo happy with it! It's turning out better than I expected. We are still looking for a rug, a rocker/recliner chair and a side table - which we might already have.

I put the hardware on the change table while I was upstairs. What a transformation!! I was unable to take pics, as we didn't have the right light bulb and therefore the lighting was poor.

I'm hoping the doors will end up on the wardrobe this weekend, and the curtains will be hung! I plan to go back up there this weekend and attempt to get some stuff done.

Belly Button?
In, but it is getting flatter and flatter.

Weight Gain?
About 15 pounds (it is hard to get a true accurate with the air cast on)

Wedding Rings?
On and really loose.

Best Moment of the Week?
Seeing the nursery! It was torture knowing the furniture was upstairs and I was unable to see it! And to make matters better it looks better than I imagined!!

Crazy Pregnancy Moment:
It has been really hard relying on others to do things for me, by the end of the day I'm usually a mess, as I struggle with this big time. I know it's all temporary, but I'm just not used to sitting around watching the world go by. M has been so very helpful and I would be lost without him during all of this. He is literally up with me throughout the night when I get uncomfortable, or have to pee, he's helping me get dressed in the morning, walking the dogs, and maintaining our house. Not once has he complained! I have complained enough for him most likely, about how it's not fair for him to have to do everything, but he just reminds me that this too will pass and that it's not worth setting myself back by doing too much!

Weekend Rewind

We got some snow! I had to start with that after seeing how pretty much everywhere has been nailed with a snow storm this weekend. Well we only got a dusting, I did see a snow plow on our street for the first time this year, just this morning.

Friday night M hung the curtain rods in the nursery, which ended up being too far apart? But we figured we could make it work with supporting the rod better so they didn't buckle in the middle.

Saturday M worked, while I held the fort down here at home. M's Mom came over with her sewing machine and attached the blackout curtains to the new curtains. We are going to have to buy new rods. Somehow we ended up with grease on one of the curtains, so when M got home he took the stain out (he is seriously the best stain remover), threw it in the wash, dried it on low heat and it shrunk by a lot. So we washed the other one and the same thing happened - at least they match now. M's Mom is going to come over today and shorten the black outs. But now with the new length we decided to we will move the curtain rods and patch the walls, we also bought new stronger curtain rods because the black out material is quite heavy.

M also put the doors on the wardrobe. We noticed there are a few paint touch ups that need to be made, but we will do that towards the end of being done moving furniture around, and what not. I was at least able to fold some laundry, which made me feel somewhat productive. Other than that we just relaxed, had tacos for dinner and were in bed by 11 PM on a Saturday night. Neither one of us was were able to stay up to finish watching the movies we had started.

Sunday morning we somehow managed to sleep in until 9!!! We got up, got dressed and headed into town. We grabbed Tim Hortons for breakfast and hit up Wal-Mart. I was able to use one of their electric scooters to get around. M was calling me hot wheels and was sure to take a picture right before I took a corner and split my apple cider! I had a trail that followed me throughout the store. But we got just about everything on our list. And I am just about finished my shopping.

I still have M to shop for, but I'm not able to find his gift anywhere. It's sold out! We also have M's Dad to buy for, but I'm leaving that one up to M, I got my part this weekend.

We decided to hit up Winner's super fast, which meant I was walking with the help of a shopping cart, so needless to say it was a short-lived trip, but we got exactly what we needed. We dropped off the 31 Party orders, stopped at Home Hardware so M could run in and find the light bulb for the nursery. He didn't find the exact one, but one that worked. We finally grabbed Pizza Hut take out for lunch (I've been wanting it for weeks) and home we went to enjoy and put my foot back up.

I ordered the stuff I was unable to get online and hopefully it gets here before Christmas.

We went up to the nursery, I put the hardware on the dresser and it looks awesome. We went into the spare room and started pulling stuff over to the nursery and put some of it away. M took a bin of girls clothes from my sister downstairs and put the other one in the nursery for me to pull out the gender nuetral stuff. I can see the mattress on the spare bed now, but it's still not overly accessible. M vacuumed, put some laundry away, walked the dogs and we sat down to enjoy a nice chicken dinner and had some down time for the rest of the evening.

My plan is to rest today and tomorrow before my next outing, but it was great to get out of the house and to be just about finished Christmas shopping. Wednesday is my next doctors appointment and will therefore be my next outting and it will be just as long as an outting so I will be sore again.

And sure enough I need to add one picture to this post....

We are celebrating a few milestones today!! 90 more days!! 3 more months from today and the baby will be due and this is my last week in the 2nd trimester!! Time is flying!!

High Five Yo!!

Wow Friday has finally come!! I've been saying how fast time has been going, but this week dragged on!!

My week has been pretty boring to say the least, but we made the best of it.

1) sprung house arrest today. Although it was only for a doctors appointment.

That aircast weighs 5 pounds!

2) my doctors appointment went well this morning. Blood pressure is stable and meds are remaining the same! The doctor said this was one way to control it, as I'm essentially on bed rest because of my foot. Huge thanks to my Dad for taking me, even if he used my wheelchair to stop the elevator doors from shutting lol.

3) the nursery curtains came in the mail yesterday, which meant I got to go up to see the nursery!! We didn't have the proper light bulb, so the lighting was very poor, but I will go up again on the weekend to see how it matches, but I am just loving the way it looks!! Felt great to be up there again! I'm hoping to be able to start working in there next week (foot dependant).

4) loving snuggles with this little guy all week:

He takes bed rest pretty seriously, and reading up on pregnancy not so much. His little paws actually opened my what to expect app.

He also lives feeling the baby kick:

M caught him up laying on the nursery rug looking at the crib. He is patiently waiting too.

5) the weekend is here and although I had to cancel my dinner plans with N & M, we don't have much on the go! Hopefully M will catch some downtime!

Hope everyone has a great and safe weekend!!

So What Wednesday

Due to the events that have transpired since last Wednesday we have yet again enough "so what's" to provide another post.
Life After I Dew

So here we go again:

- so what if today is the first day since I fractured my ankle that I actually feel somewhat human? Amazing what putting on a pair of jeans can do for a girl.

- so what if my in-laws found an old walker for me to use around the house... Better than a rolling office chair.

- so what if because of said walker I feel like an old lady instead of a new mom-to-be. But in all honesty it helps.

- so what if the best part of my day is taking off the air cast to ice my ankle. I will spare you the images. (Sorry Instagram friends, although those are nothing)

- so what if I can't even recognize my ankle, between the colors coming out on it and the swelling, it's horrible looking and guess what she ain't getting any prettier.

- so what if my husband has now seen me getting off a toilet, no shame no game? It was bound to happen anyways at some point.

- so what if while on the subject of toilets, when they told me to stay off of my ankle, with the exception of bathroom breaks - they must have forgotten (yet again) that I am pregnant and pregnancy bladders still call whether your ankle is fractured or not! So it turns out I should just hang out in the bathroom for the amount of times my bladder calls to benefit from staying off my ankle.
your bladder: baby's first squeeze toy
- so what if I am considering getting one of those shower stools, right now I am using a foot stool and guess what, a pregnant belly, boobs and knees don't have a lot of room to move all compacted together.

- so what if despite the above issues with the stool, I can't wait to have a shower again tonight.

- so what if my poor husband hasn't been busy enough, and now he has me to deal with, on top of getting everything else done. I feel soo bad, but he reminds me of when he's needed it all from me, although it doesn't quite compare, but he at least tries to make me feel better.

- so what if this new cell phone cover excited me. Aside from sweet baby kicks, that's all I got!

- so what if the poor dogs keep staring me down like I cancelled Christmas because I won't take them walking in the nice weather.

- so what if said dogs decided to empty my garbage can when I sprung house arrest  last night and scattered it all around the living room. Worst part was I couldn't just blame one, they were both to blame. And to make matters better, after that behaviour M ended up taking them for a walk in the freezing drizzle. So we pretty much rewarded them.

- so what if the nursery furniture is all upstairs and the new light is hung, it's not like I have seen any of it anyways. It's just a big tease knowing it's all up there and I am stuck on the main floor. I told M I'm going up when the curtains come in, with his help - I don't care if I go up on my butt. On a plus side I at least got to to see our new car seat:

- so what if my floors need to be washed, I am learning (the hard way) to let things slide.

- so what about all of the above. It could be worse. The baby is safe and in all honesty, it all that matters in my mind. It gets me through the pain, and the frustration.

What are you saying so what to?

25 Weeks

How Far Along:
25 weeks - November 24 - 30, 2013

Size Of Baby?

A Cauliflower!!

Baby has fingerprints! His/her nostrils are starting to open and although we cannot hear it, baby's vocal chords are starting to form!

Maternity Clothes?
Still mixing it up. Found this super cute owl sweater in my closet that was pre-pregnancy and I forgot I had it!!

Stretch Marks?
Still just a small one, but nothing really noticeable.

Gender?
We will find out in March!

What the Doctor Had To Say:
Good news first - baby is doing great, heart rate was 158-160, growth is right on track as far as my uterus goes. Gave me advice for the reflux and told me I could take Zantac.

Bad news: I am now on blood pressure medication twice a day. I had been monitoring it at home (because of my history with blood pressure issues in the past) and sure enough my readings were always 130/90+. The diastolic pressure ranges from 90 to 100 all through out the day. Not cool! I have been getting more headaches, so he decided to start me on a small dose of blood pressure meds to be safe. There is no protein in my urine, so preeclampsia is not an issue, but something we are trying to avoid by treating my blood pressure now. I go back in a week for him to monitor the baby, making sure both mine and the babies heart rate isn't dropping, as well as checking my blood pressure to make sure the meds are working right. Then the following week I go back again, where he is going to do an ultrasound to check on the placenta and make sure it's not having any issues, as well as the baby. Good news is I get to see the baby again. I will also do my glucose test that day as well.

To add to the bad news, I ended up fracturing my ankle, as well as tearing the lateral ligaments and spraining it. Go big or go home? Well it's big and I am stuck at home, with an air cast for 4 weeks minimum. At first it was supposed to be 2 weeks, as they misdiagnosed me saying there was no break/fracture, but then I got a call a day later with instruction for the fracture.

Sleep?
Hit and miss. I usually get up to pee around 3 AM. If M would stop clearing his nightstand and waking up everyone when it all falls on the ground, we would sleep better (4 nights in a row we are talking).

Baby Purchases This Week:
Crib skirt came in! I love how it looks!!

I bought a package of knobs for the change table and ordered drawer pulls for the dresser.

I also ordered the crib mattress and car seat - both of which came in this week, but the car seat is at my sisters.

I feel like I am in constant buy buy buy mode, now that the nursery is coming together.

Made this Week:
 Just crocheted away.

M finished the dresser and bassinet and brought it home. The change table is giving us grief, I think because it is soo old, so we are sealing it with a special primer and then will try painting it again. By the end of the week M had the remaining peices finished.

Cravings/Aversions?
Chocolate pudding. It's all I want... All the time!!

Movement?
Still lots of movement! This feeling will never get old!!

Feeling?
Overall, pretty good. Headaches are back and have been quite bad this week! Reflux is still here. But on a plus side the bloody nose is gone, but the constant drip isn't!

Highlights:
Getting some of the nursery furniture back in the nursery all painted! Love how it is turning out! What a transformation!

I starting pulling some of the stuff I have already for the baby and placing it in the room, but I really need the other furniture! I've got receiving blankets in the laundry hamper up there to come down to be washed before putting away.

Less than 100 days to go!!!

Belly Button?
In

Best Moment of the Week?
The crib went up at the beginning of the week! Now as much as I said "sh*t just got real" when we bought the crib, it became even more real when we put the crib up!

Getting to see Baby V again via ultrasound after my fall! It was reassuring to say the least.

Love how the dresser has transformed from when we first had it handed down to us in our old house to today:

Crazy Pregnancy Moment:
Being a bit disappointed regarding the blood pressure issues. I just want to do what is best for the baby, as well as my well being, but it can be a little scary when things come up along the road. I knew going into this that my blood pressure could become an issue during the pregnancy, as my cardiologist had informed me, but I guess everything was just going well and I got caught up in it and didn't expect the sudden bump in the road.

My laughing/crying hysterics with M in the truck as mentioned here.

Rolling my ankle going down a step was no fun either and it is considered crazy in my opinion! You can read about it on yesterday's post.

Crazy to see the difference between this 15 week photo
And this one below from this this week!! What a difference 10 weeks makes!

Bump Pic:

(pre-fracturing my ankle)

Looking Forward To:
My doctors appointment next week to find out how we are doing.

All the stuff I ordered to come in!!

Becoming more mobile, as I am essentially on bed rest now, only able to get up to use the bathroom. It's going to be a long 4 weeks.
