Weekend Rewind

Our weekend was pretty boring from an activity stand point, but productive in a DIY/renovation stand point.    Friday night M surprised with a date night!!! It was nice, just a night out with the two of us, we enjoyed some live music on a patio, then went for ice cream and home!

But I will let it be known that M and I are soo over renovating with children around. It all started when we painted the kitchen cupboards during our first week of holidays, we tried to strategize our coats around wake times and sleep times and it took all week. A project that should have taken 48 hours! But it was fine, we kept the kids entertained and all was well.
When it came to doing the floors in the great room/kitchen all hell broke loose! The biggest problem was this was our main living space and we had to completely disrupt it!! Helping us was fine during the tear out/clean up....

But when it came to laying new floors, there wasn't much they could do. I was cutting the boards and M was laying them. We literally just had to power through, while trying to keep them half happy.

Pets and kids don't like change. I don't like messes... so the quicker we got through this the better, so we put in a long day Saturday and then finished Sunday afternoon, so we could just have some much needed family time.

Everyone survived, it was chaotic, everyone's patience was running short and we concluded that we will do the remaining floors in evening intervals when the kids can go to the farm for a few hours while we work. The other rooms are also at the front of the house where the bedrooms are!    I will be posting a big reveal when we are done, but we still have some trim work to do and what not!

A DECADE

10 years

A DECADE

We've made it soo far, gone through soo much, and today we are stronger than ever!

When I look back at our 10 years, I have a hard time grasping that it's been 10 years, it doesn't feel like it! Are you sure it wasn't just last year?

But let's look at how far we have come...

10 years has brought us through many hellos and goodbyes of family, friends, and pets.

10 years has brought us through sickness and health and IVF and infertility.

10 years has brought us to our second home and SEVERAL renovations.

10 years has brought us on road trips and travels near and far.

10 years has opened new doors and closed others.

10 years has finally given us the children we have prayed for.

10 years have given us one hell of path, I don't think we could do that path again even if we tried. No one can walk the same road we did, it's OURS! WE choose the path for our future. We may not know where we are going or how we will get there, but we have each other and there is just something soo calming and relaxing knowing that with my hand in yours, we have got this crazy life we were given.

10 years has brought us to today. Tomorrow is not promised, but what is promised is that I will continue to love you like it is my last. No regrets.

Our sorries are followed with I love you. We aren't perfect, but what is??

In my eyes we are perfectly imperfect and I'm good with that.

Happy 10 years Mike.

Thank you for asking me to be your wife. I am the lucky one.

Thank you for all that you do and for putting our family first.

Thank you for helping me be the best me I can be. I couldn't do it without you.

Thank you for being you.

Summer Pre-School with Lovable Labels

This little man had his first day of the summer pre-school program today!!!
Of course he gave me the whole "I don't want to go" but drop off went seemingly well, with a bit of whining, but no tears!! The biggest change this time was the whole no pull ups, which means no accidents... I was super nervous about this, as he isn't THAT familiar with his teacher and likes his privacy. But he did amazing with it! I showed him where the bathroom was and made him go before I left. His teacher said he ran off during gym time and so she followed and he said he just needed to pee, but that he was having soo much fun and wanted to get back. She said she loved hearing him articulate his feelings!!

Overall he had a great day! He will be going every Thursday for the next 4 weeks, then he will have a little break and start back up in September going Thursday's again. I'm hoping come the new year that we will be able to get him in Tuesdays and Thursdays.

I will look forward to my mornings with Emilya, although this morning wasn't all that fun, with a drive to London (40 minutes away) to get a new ear mould impression done. Em was NOT a fan at all... she cried, no wait - screamed right up until we left!! But we had success!!

Last night I was busy labelling all of Noah's stuff for pre-school!

Lovable Labels makes that soo easy!! I've been using these products for years, but now using them for the kids stuff makes life soo much easier. One mishap with winter boots is all it took!!

No magic markers, heck there isn't even tags to write on these days, just a quick sticker on whatever it is, from lunch boxes, to coats, shoes, and bag tags.

Lovable Labels sent me the back to school pack (which is on sale right now) and it came with:
    • 15 Sticker Labels 7cm x 1.5cm (2 ¾" x 9/16")
    • 80 Slimline Labels 5cm x 0.7cm (2" x ¼")
    • 12 Shoe Labels 3.8 cm X 3.8 cm (1 ½" x 1 ½")
    • 60 Press N' Stick Clothing DOTS
  • 20 Medium - 2.6 cm x 2 cm (1 1/8" - 3/4")
  • 40 Small - 2.2 cm x 1.6 cm (7/8" - 5/8")
  • 12 Square Labels 3.65cm x 3.17cm (1-7/8" x 1¼")
  • 2 Mini-Metal Tags 5.3 cm x 2.9 cm (2 1/8 x 1 1/8)
That's 181 labels!! Soo pretty much everything I will need over the next school season!! I let Noah pick his labels and he picked the sporty pack!

Fab Fit Fun - Editorial Box

Well I took the plunge and decided to try the Fab Fit Fun Box! I'm not a big fan of surprises, but this subscription box is really fun and I haven't gotten anything I didn't enjoy!! Here is what came in my first box which was the editorial box.

1) The Gypsy Round Towel:
Value: $50
I love the idea of it, not too sure how I will use it, maybe for snack time by the pool? It's not a towel material, it's very lightweight, so we will likely use it for a picnic blanket.

2) Real Her Playbook Shadow Palette:
Value $28
I love the colors and they are actually colors I would use, very neutral, nothing too wild. I'm really starting to enjoy doing my make up, so having some extra products to use is a bonus at this stage.

3) LUV AJ Full Bloom Lariat in Rose Gold:

Value: $75
I love this necklace!! I have always been interested in getting a rose gold piece, but was always to chicken. But it pretty much goes with anything. The length is great, even for this tall girl and is adjustable. Not to mention I love Swarovski crystals.

4) Spongelle Bulgarian Rose Body Wash Infused Buffer:

Value: $16
This is an entirely new product for me to try! I have never used a buffer or a sponge in the bath - I'm a loofa kinda gal!!  They say it should last 14 uses and it smells soo good!!

5) Rifle Paper Co. Herb Garden Set of Coasters:
Value: $14
This is an item I actually needed! We pretty much have no coasters and coasters are not an easy thing to find in store, so this was a real bonus for me! They are lightweight, kid friendly, not to mention cute! They likely won't last forever, but by then I will be ready for something new I'm sure!

6) Marrakesh Hair Oil
Value: $23
I have actually had time to use this product and I did like it! At first I wasn't sure how to use it, but my hair has been super dry lately (and in need of a colors and cut) so any hair therapy is welcomed and I think it did help. I applied it while my hair was wet and it did seem to help and thbonus was the shine it gave.

7) Anderson Lille's Sicilian Tangerine Beach Body Cream
Value: $24
This cream is paraben and petroleum free. It smells amazing and I don't find it greasy at all!! We use a lot of hand cream in this house, especially Mike, so the true test will be how M likes it!!
  8) O.R.G. Skincare Mineral Face Peel
Value: $44
I really wasn't too sure how to use this product, but after reading the instructions, it appears to be an exfoliating face scrub that is supposed to take no time to work. As a busy Mom, fitting in skin care can be tricky, so quick is great!! I look forward to trying this!

9) FabFitFun Coloring Book & Pencils
Value $14
I actually look forward to using this. I have one other adult coloring book and some metallic pencils, but I haven't taken the time to use them yet. Noah is not quite into coloring yet, but I want to encourage it more, so this gives me a little something to do while he does!

The total box is valued at $288, not bad for only spending $40! Yes, that is American, but it's still a good deal and shipping wasn't too horrible!! If you follow me on Instagram, I have been posting more on there lately instead of my blog (it's just easier), but I have been doing stories of the boxes I have gotten. I will do a post on my second box soon!!

We have been on holidays hence the 2 week hiatus, but I am working my way back here, we just have a lot on the go, so find me on Instagram (lifeasiknow09) to stay up to date and I will keep touching base here.
