White Bean Soup

Image
I was at one of my favorite blogs, Ms.enPlace  the other day.  Go on over and meet   Michelle  and learn about Louisiana and good food and be charmed by her. She was making her weekly recipe for IHCC . IHCC is holding a virtual potluck in honor of Deb from Kahakai Kitchen . Deb recently lost her mother and in her memory members are cooking any potluck recipe from the numerous chefs, they have cooked from, in past years as well as presently. I saw the white bean soup on Michelle's blog and wanted to make it.  It dawned on me, if I made it, I could also post it and share my condolences with Deb.  Although, I am a week late, not having known about this in time, I still want to offer my condolences to Deb and share this recipe. Thanks to Michelle and to Rick Bayless for this recipe.  We enjoyed it. Even my granddaughter ate it up. White Bean Soup - adapted from Rick Bayless Ingredients: 1 can cannellini beans 3 cups...

Maple Glazed Chicken - Donna Hay

Image
Easy Entertaining is the them of the I Heart Cooking Club - Donna Hay recipes for this week.  I would love to do this one, every week, since Donna makes classy recipes that are easy to make and that is what I want.  After years, of cooking, I faced the truth, I like an immediate response and that is why I look for recipes that are done quickly with a limited amount of effort but with good flavor.  This is the perfect example.  The combination of the chili and pure maple syrup makes this chicken special and I would serve it to guests as well as eat it, like we did on a normal evening. Maple Glazed Chicken     Video is found here. Ingredients: ¼ cup (60ml) maple syrup ¼ cup (60ml) water ½ teaspoon dried chilli flakes (I used m y new sweet and spicy dried spice) ½ teaspoon sea salt flakes ½ teaspoon cracked black pepper 2 x 200g chicken breast fillets, trimmed Method: Place the maple syrup, water, chilli, salt and pepper in a non...

I have a list of recipes, from Nigella Kitchen that I want to make and hopefully, I will be sharing them with you. Right now, I am going to share her meatball recipe which I made, recently.
