In memory of Orlando

So many tragedies have recently happened in Orlando including many precious lives being taken at a nightclub, a singer being killed by a deranged fan and a young child being killed by an alligator.  Such sadness and tragic deaths that none of them deserved.    Hugs and prayers to all those affected and wishes for peace and reason in a time of anxiety and chaos.

Holley's View Archway Angel

 Here's my card using a stunning Sweet Pea stamp called Archway Angel from artist Karen Middleton. Isn't this image beautiful? I love this angel, she just pops right off the card and I can imagine her flying away with the butterflies.  I used some embossed cardstock with butterflies as well, which I sanded to show the white core.  Then I added simple butterflies all around her.  I used a vellum sentiment "He is with us" to go on the card.

Here's the gorgeous stamp, which is currently available in both rubber stamp and digi stamp format.

Check out all of Karen Middleton's amazing designs over at the Sweet Pea store. She has the most gorgeous lady stamps and the cutest little animals, then drop by our Facebook page at Sweet Pea Friends and Fans and share your latest creations with us!

Cheers, Holley

Angel Card

Sharing a Sunday Angel card. I haven't shared an angel card on Sunday in a while, so I decided to make one this week.  I hope you like this sweet angel. I can't think of who makes this stamp, so if you recall, let me know.  Hope you love this card. Many blessings everyone!

Special prayers out to those in need.  If you leave a prayer request, I'll add you to the prayer list.  Had lots of fun at the Scrapbook convention this year. I took three classes in card making. Usually I don't show the cards, as they are not cards that I designed myself, but this year I thought I would scan in a couple of them to let you see what they are teaching (and let you know which companies taught the classes in case you are interested).  Keep an eye out for those in an upcoming weekend.

Hugs, Holley

Cute Little Calendars

Here's some more of those cute little calendars. I must say, at church esp, I have people telling me all the time that they have these little calendars now and they think of me everytime they look at them! What a quick and cute little gift to give someone.

It's a great way to make a gift that gives all year and doesn't break your bank, it actually fits inside a card you would mail to someone and depending on how fancy you make the topper, might not even cost you additional postage!

Cheers, Holley

Fall Angel

Here's a wonderful new image from artist Sandra Caldwell called Fall Angel.  This stamp is going to be released this week at the Queen Kat Store!  Be sure and check out all of Sandra's wonderful images.  I think this stamp is just perfect for fall as well as December.  Anything with pumpkin on it just makes me think of all those delicious Pumpkin goodies I love:  Pumpkin pie, Pumpkin cheesecake, Pumpkin bagels, Pumpkin muffins, pumpkin bread, ....yum!

This card is using a couple of nestabilities to cut out the image as well as the metallic die cuts and also using some great fall trees with their leaves gone.  I colored Sandra's stamp using Copic Markers and mounted it on metallic paper.  I can't wait to see all the other fall designs she made!

Cheers, Holley

Earth Angel

Here's a card I made for this week's Squigglefly Challenge using wonderful papers from Paper Temptress.  The challenge this week is Music theme, so pick something music related in topic or perhaps make a card song related.  I chose this fun image for the song  "Earth Angel."
Earth angel, earth angel
Will you be mine?
My darling dear, love you all the time
I’m just a fool, a fool in love with you....
This image is part of of a two image set, as you might recall, I showed the adorable "devilish" woman a few weeks ago on a card.  The image set is called Inside Outs Good Girls and Bad Girls.
Papers used on this project are from Paper Temptress.  The background cardstock is a wonderful metallic shimmer Copper Mica;  I paired that with a great textured blue ruche paper called Sky Blue Crepe.  The image is a digital stamp and was printed onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80 lb.   Often when I am stamping images, I prefer to use Heavenly White or the 110lb papers, but I have only a compact size printer at my house, so printing images that are digital requires a slightly lighter weight paper.  I use the 80lb thickness for my printer.  As you can see on this card though, it prints wonderfully and still colors beautiful with copic markers.

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Paper Temptress);  Digi Stamp (Squigglefly);  Ink (Colorbox Chalk);  Border Punch (EK Success);  Bling (Jesse James);  Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue Dots, Glue All);  Color (Copic Markers);

Magnolia Angel

Here's a sweet angel card from an old style stamp from Magnolia stamps.  Isn't he a cutie?  I suppose I could have colored up this image differently and made this image a girl all the same, but just felt like a boy stamp when I made this card.  Wishing everyone a blessed Sunday today.
Project Materials:  Cardstock (Bazzill, Neenah);  Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk);  Stamp (Magnolia);  Die Cut (spellbinders Nestabilies); Butterfly (Recollections);  Fibers (JoAnns);  Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All, Ribbon Glue, Glue Dots);  Color (Copic Markers);

Paper Temptress Angel

Today I am showcasing a great Angel stamp from artist Ava Shwark of Addicted to stamps using wonderful papers that I got from Paper Temptress. This stamp is called Angel 1 (Click here). I colored the image on Neenah paper from Paper Temptress which works great with copic markers.
You can run this paper through your computer printer, so it's perfect for Digi stamps! I got some great die cut tools that have a mix of funky flower shapes and odd circles from Lifestyles (formerly Quikkutz). I chose two sizes that would match my card. For the background of the image I chose a great lightweight blue paper called Blu Raspberry. The card base is a wonderful Glossy paper that I also textured with a sizzix tool and then added color using a colorbox inkpad called Peacock Blue. I added final embellishment with Prima flowers, fun buttons, and Bo Bunny brads.

Isn't she a beauty? Be sure to read a few entries down to hear about the blog hop. Paper Temptress is going to sponser a wonderful gift certificate of $20 during the games in Feb! Woo HOO!! Grab a photo of the prizes and post about it on your blog. Drop me an email and let me know in order to sign up for the first contest (htondre@aol.com)

Squigglefly Challenge

It's time for a Squigglefly Challenge! This week's challenge is to follow a sketch. I used a wonderful Digi-Stamp from them called Angel Maisy. She's super cute. On my sentiment, I added a single word brad that says "Faith", but you could also do many things such as handwritten text, a sticker of words, a rubber stamp, digi-stamp, typed up text, or anything thing else you can imagine!Go over to the Squigglefly challenge blog and check out the sketch you should follow. You will notice that I turned the sketch sideways when I did mine. If you use a Squigglefly image, you are eligible for a wonderful prize! If you don't have any Squigglefly images, you can buy one at their store. These images you simply print out on your own computer. They work great and are resizeable! If you would like to try one out first, get one of their free images! You can even use a freebie image in their contest.
