Happy Friday

Happy Friday everyone!  Aren't we all ready for the end of this week.  I know I am looking forward to this coming weekend.  I just need to start spending some time on the weekend to get ready for the upcoming Scrapbooking Convention in Dallas, TX.  It's a ways to go, but I really want to this year.  I am so looking forward to it.  I hope everyone has a great friday and a happy weekend.

Mini Calendars

Here's some more of the fun calendars that I made for fellow co-workers and church members.  The top image comes from TAC;  I think that adorable bird is from Unity, but I am not sure, if you know, please correct me;  The bottom right image is a Grumpling from Taylored Expressions , it's hilarious, the sentiment says "FIT(ish) Someone who like the idea of being fit but equally likes food."

Be Happy

Here's a sweet giraffe stamp from Whimsy Stamps. I paired him with a great saying from TAC, "If you want to be happy, be." I do think happiness can be that simple at times. Sometimes you just have to let it out of yourself and be happy in spite of everything around you :)

You're a Hoot!

Here's an adorable Owl stamp from The Angel Company. I have lots of funny sayings to go with owls, this one comes from one of the new rubber studio G sets. They are super cute and come as premounted rubber stamps. I prefer them this way, as opposed to the wood mounted stamps. The come with images and sayings together.

Owl's it going?

Here's a cute stamp from Whimsy. I colored him with copic markers and paired him with a cute saying stamp by TAC.No news to report here. I am still waiting on my follow up appointment to find out my operation status. Feeling very optimistic though. Since the decision was made I have had the calmest feeling. (And an amazingly low number of headaches!)

RAGDOLLS!

I can't believe it, I finally got a copy of the retired TAC (The Angel Company) Ragdolls stamp set. I have been looking for this set for YEARS. On Ebay, stamping groups, trade spots, TAC yahoo groups, random internet searches, you name it. The other night I was just happened to do an ebay search (about the 400th time I have done one) and there it was! An excellent condition set! I couldn't believe it. Now here a week later the set is in my hot little hands.

Here's my first card done with the set. I just love the dolls in this set as wells as all the wonderful sayings. You will definitely see more of this set in the future.

As an aside the secondary goal of this card was to make something that's perfectly flat. I love to put the beautiful flowers, dimensional tape and other such accents, but I have also had problems mailing these cards. I have noticed that the post offices differ in their processing. I have one post office that will run their hand over your card and if they feel the SLIGHTEST bump--you get jacked up to package rate! Another has the post office standard mail slots cut out of plastic and they will simply stick it through the slot, as long as it goes through their test slot, it's considered "flat". I don't know why the standards are so different, but package rate for a card seems ridiculous at $1.22 for the first ounce. So, here's an example of a perfectly flat card that will pass any post office test.

Project Materials:
Cardstock (Bazzill); Stamps (Ragdolls-TAC); Coloring (Stampin' Up watercolor crayons); Edging (Colorbox chalk ink-chestnut Roan)
