Christmas in July

Hello and I hope you are having a great week.  Well everyone I notice seems to be sharing at least one Christmas in July card, so here's mine. I made this cute holiday theme card using a wonderful stamp from Magnolia.  Isn't she just precious?

I hope you are crafting away this summer. I would say I was getting a lot of Christmas theme cards done, but that really isn't happening, just this one.  But hey, I did the Christmas in July theme!

Woo hoo.

If I only had a brain

Here's a fun Magnolia image of her as a scarecrow. I had to add a classic sentiment that goes with the scarecrow, "If I only had a brain."  Then, I printed out my own paper in the background using a great brain image from Ike's Art.  I gave this card to my Epileptologist, the one in charge of my brain surgeries right before Halloween along with two trays full of mini brains for his whole office at Austin Epilepsy.

Here's some pictures of the Brain Candy, and I made some fun brain sentiments with the Ike's art image on the top of the containers.

A day later I actually got a nice thank you card in the mail from the office.

Cheers, Holley

Happy Birthday Sis!

Just wishing my sister a Happy Birthday today! Here's a delightful Magnolia stamp with the cutest Tilda on there, she has cute curls, which I always remember my sister having curly hair when we were younger.  Somehow I never knew mine was too until I was an adult and a hairdresser told me that my hair was also curly!  I used to curl my hair all the time when I was younger

Hope you have a wonderful birthday Sister.

Cheers, Holley

Also wonderful news that my brother and his wife have welcomed their first child!  Hugs and prayers to them and their new family.

Sweet and Simple Tilda

Here's a CAS card using the cutest Tilda.  Dream a little dream. Right now I wish we could all be laying down in the flowers and looking up at the sun. I am guessing many of you like me are surrounded by the cold right about now.  Well, cards like this can at least give me a summery feeling....

Are you ready for 2015, don't look now, but it's already here. I know, I can't believe that either!  What I do know though is that we are less than a month away from my FIVE year anniversary celebration. WOW!! now that is something to celebrate.  There's going to be huge blog candy all month long, so set your calendar's as the prizes will start coming and will be handed out all of Feb in celebration of the brain surgeries that saved my life in 2010!!  I am so thankful to still be here, still be seizure free, and still be crafting along side all of you!

Hopefully by next week, photos will start to be posted so you can see the goodies.

Hugs, Holley

Too cute to spook

Here's the cutest little witch. This is one of the very old Magnolia stamps, I have no idea which year this one is from. I do love her though. Too sweet, I have been enjoying a lot of lime green this Halloween. I think it looks good with this shade of purple.  This cuties is definitely too cute to spook.

Hope you are having a great weekend.

Cheers, Holley

Tilda the Witch

Here's a cute Tilda card, she's on her broom and sending scares across the sky. Well, I don't know about scares, she doesn't look all that scary now, does she?  She looks pretty adorable to me.  I added a cute black cat and a big ol' bat there.  But I think what I have been told recently that scares people is all those spiders in the background.  They don't scare me on paper, but I suppose if I saw them in real life, I would be pretty freaked out.

BOO to you!

Praying Tilda

Here's a wonderful Magnolia stamp of little praying Tilda.  I colored her up using Copic markers and added a sweet sentiment from Whipper Snapper.  "God's Answers are Wiser than our Prayers?"  How true is that?  All the gorgeous papers here are from Paper Temptress.  Don't you love the layers?

The base of this card is gorgeous white cardstock Neenah Solar White, this is also the cardstock that the image was stamped on.  I die cut the image out using Spellbinders Nestabilities.   I mounted the image onto beautiful mica cardstock Punch.  I also used the sliver of punch on the edge of the card.  The lovely lace looking paper is from Hambly Studios.  They have gorgeous papers and overlays.  This paper is a small piece of a Hambly Screen Print called Old Lace.  Isn't it stunning?  Imagine how many cards you could make with this one sheet. Have a great day everyone!!

  Hugs and prayers. Holley

Cute Little Calendars

Here's some more of those cute little calendars. I must say, at church esp, I have people telling me all the time that they have these little calendars now and they think of me everytime they look at them! What a quick and cute little gift to give someone.

It's a great way to make a gift that gives all year and doesn't break your bank, it actually fits inside a card you would mail to someone and depending on how fancy you make the topper, might not even cost you additional postage!

Cheers, Holley

Princess Tilda

Here's a fun Princess Tilda. She's in her royal blue dress. I added a great sentiment today "One today is worth two tomorrows." I think many of us who have been through something like brain surgery, other life changing experience be them in our own life or with someone very close to use definitely get that.  You really come to a place where you can be very thankful for each day that you get.

Here's a fun question today...do you like Magnolia?   I clearly just LOVE them, I also love Gorjuss Girls and several other stamp lines that are well known as having their stamps done without a mouth on them or very little.  My husband however, will tell me, he doesn't like these images, he truly thinks they are very creepy without the mouth. What you do think?  big fan, not a fan or indifferent?

I look forward to hearing everyone's opinion on this.

Be sure and check the current winner's list (CLICK HERE) and see if your name is on it...if you name is in Black Bold print, then I haven't gotten your address or email, so please drop me a line at htondre@aol.com.  If you are new to the blog, we are having a wonderful celebration this month, blog candy everyday, be sure and go sign up, esp on Feb 1st as the grand prizes will get picked from that location (click here) then you can go back through previous days (last week) and leave a comment on each day for your chance to win.

I give great hugs

Here's a sweet and simple Magnolia card using Tilda holding a heart and a vellum sentiment "Give Great Hugs"  Isn't she darling?  I must say she does make me want to go and give her a hug.  Find someone around you today who needs a hug and reach out.  During the holidays a lot of people may seem happy, but the stress level for many is very high and many people are actually dealing with family issues, loss of loved ones and financial stress that makes this time of year a huge depression.
So reach out today and give some great hugs.  I think there are a lot of people that you know who probably need one!

Darkness Falls

Here's an adorable little witch Tilda.  I just love that she's using a modern broom, lol!  She's quite "Spooky" now isn't she?  OK, maybe quite adorable is more accurate.  I had to color her up in Halloween purple and highlight the spider web off the top of her hat.  So cute.

Hope you enjoyed this cute little Magnolia card today, have a great day!

It's Batty Tilda

I'm Batty for You!  That's what Tilda has to day today.  Isn't she adorable?  Here's a fun card using a Magnolia stamp.  Now that I am starting to show some Halloween cards, I had to pull out this fun image of Tilda dressing up like a bat. I am sure as many of you may have heard before, Austin is home to one of the largest bat colonies in the world.  It's truly a site that is unbelievable when you are standing on a bridge and watching a million (yes, million) bats fly out at night.  It almost looks like smoke from a distance but when close enough you realize what those tiny creatures are.

If interested, look up Mexican Freetail bats in Austin TX and I am sure there will be a ton of on line photos and videos posted.  A really great thing about them is they primarily eat mosquitos...LOTS of them.  Yeah, bats!!

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Bazzill Swiss, Neenah, AC); Image (Tilda-Magnolia Stamps; Saying-Kraftin Kimmie Stamps); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Die Cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities, Provo Craft); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All); Color (Copic markers);

Thanks a Million

Here's a cute stamp from Magnolia.  Tilda holding a cute puppy. I added a simple Cosmo Cricket sentiment "Thanks a Million."  I also used some of the fun lace that I got from Istanbul, Turkiye.  Lots of people to thank this month, esp the doctors who have done all the work we are celebrating for, and my hubby who helped my pull through those times and brought me to where I am today.  All the wonderful companies who sent yummy prizes:  Sweet Pea Stamps, Paper Temptress, Scrapbook Stamp Society, Sandra Caldwell (Babycakes Doodle me this and that), Squigglefly, and Queen Kat!!
And Esp, thanks to you guys, who gave me all the support and sent all your hugs and prayers at that time when I really needed it!! Oopsie!

Here's a darling Tilda who's made a little mess, but I guess if you are going to learn to be a cook at her age, you could grow up and be a great Chef one day!  Just got to keep scrambling those eggs up.  This adorable stamp I got over at Scrapalicious.  She is selling out her store and the Magnolia stamps are 30% off the discounted price!  Yum. I couldn't resist this cutie.  The gorgeous papers on this card are all from Paper Temptress.
The card base is a stunning shimmery Mica cardstock called Amethyst, it glimmers, so I added some black paper on top that also has an amazing golden sparkle to it.  The Black layer is called Incandescent Nero.  The image has been stamped on Neenah Solar White and the corners were die cut from the same cardstock.  The light blue cardstock used for layering is called Pop Tones Berrylicious.  It may look darker, but I used some colorbox chalk ink to rub on the edges with ink on both the Pop Tones cardstock, the Neenah Cardstock and the corner diecuts.

Coloring on the cute image is done in Copic Markers and the adorable diecuts are from Cheery Lynn.  I had to add a cute flat back button that says Chef to top the card off.  I wish you all could see it in the light, these cards shimmer so much thanks to the mica and glittery of them!

Cheers, Holley
