Dolphin Kiss

Here's a new gorgeous Digi-Stamp from Sweet Pea artist Joanne Schempp that is available in digital format called Dolphin Kiss.  I just love this gorgeous image. I colored up the mermaid and left the water where she is swimming a tone lighter than the rest of the water.  Wouldn't it be fabulous to be swimming with the dolphins in the ocean?
I finished off this card with some lovely lace and some silver bling followed by some turquoise bling as well.  Be sure and check out the other stunning stamps from artist Joanne Schempp.  Sweet Pea sells them in both rubber stamp and digital stamp format.

Have a great weekend.  Cheers, Holley

It's a Mermaid kind of day

Here's an adorable Mermaid card for spring time.  This cute mermaid was designed by Scrapbook Stamp Society artist Sherri Baldy.  The stunning papers are all from Paper Temptress. I also added some gorgeous buttons from Jesse James to add just a little flair.

The navy blue paper in the background is Basis 80 # in Blue.  To look like water I used some wonderful layering of ruche paper, multiple layers on top and bottom;  I used Sky Blue Crepe and colored it by rubbing a Colorbox Chalk inkpad over it to give a darker blue ink.  I chose a wonderful mica cardstock, which matches the color I used when coloring the mermaid, it's called Emerald.  I used Heavenly White cardstock to print the image on and colored it with Copic markers.

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Paper Temptress);  Digi-Stamp (Addicted to Stamp--Scrapbook Stamp Society);  DieCuts (Lifestyles); Buttons (Jesse James); Ink (Colorbox Chalk); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue Dots, Glue All);  Color (Copic Markers);

What a cute little mermaid!

Here's a cute little mermaid from Addicted to Stamps artist Sherri Baldy.  She's got her pet sea horse and everything.  What a dear!  She's currently with out a name, that means that this stamp is in a "name the stamp game."  You should drop by the Scrapbook Stamp Society facebook page and Sherri Baldy Stamps facebook page to see stamps that don't have name's yet.  Sherri will take everyone's suggestion for a name and if she picks the name you suggest, she will give you a free stamp copy (digi-stamp).  The stamp is also being sold at the Scrapbook Stamp Society store (see it HERE).
She has lots of fun stamps that need names, so might win a freebie!  You can also sign up for the newsletter and then you get at free stamp per month when they send out the monthly letter.

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Bazzill, Neenah);  Digi-Stamp (Scrapbook Stamp Society);  Ink (Colorbox Chalk);  Die Cut (Spellbinders Nestabilities);  Buttons (Jesse James); Flowers (Prima); Adhesives (pop dots, Glue dots, Glue All);  Color (Copic Markers);

Mermaid Cutie

Don't we all love mermaids?  How about baby mermaids?  Here's a stunning Sweet Pea image from artist Conie Fong called Flowers on the Beach.  Isn't she just adorable?  I added a wonderful sentiment from and older set of Sweet Pea stamps "Flowers are the sweetest things God ever made and forgot to put a soul into. "

On this card I am using 2 shades of cardstock and some major punches!  When I look at it now, it's almost hard to tell, which cardstock is the base color and which is the secondary.  The orange color is the card, it was punch via a large border punch and then a green background color was put behind it, to add the green.  Then on top of the card, I used the same green to layer my colored image.  The card shows three layers of depth that way.  It's a nice way to show some depth with out adding too much bulk (for example if you know you want to mail a card internationally and you know anything sticking out in the envy will get damaged).  This type of card allows you to make wonderful layers and give height and make the item perfectly mailable without having to include it in a package.  Just an idea!!

Cheers, Holley
