And not trade justanything, but shares of recently nationalized foreign companies, most of which are South African-owned miners. The one hundred and fifty seventh weekly 'No shit, Sherlock' award
I seem to have missed a few weeks of awards, for which I apologise!
This one is a doozy though.
The BBC report that 'Zimbabwe's presidential election was a "huge farce", PM Morgan Tsvangirai has said, alleging vote-rigging by rival President Robert Mugabe's camp.'
Vote-rigging by Robert Mugabe's Zanu PF thugocracy? 'No shit, Sherlock'

Racist hate-speech in South Africa but there is no coverage on the BBC
That's the South African President Jacob Zuma leading the singing of "Kill the Boer" at ANC Centenery Celebrations in Bloemfontein, South Africa in January 2012.
Note the lyrics enthusiastically sung and also note the man in the grey waistcoat next to President Zuma, the one doing the actions to illustrate the song's words. Long time readers of this blog may recognise him as Julius Malema the vile individual who was formerly Jacob Zuma's attack dog before rising to become President of the ANC Youth League. In November 2011 Julius Malema was found guilty of sowing divisions within the ANC and, in conjunction with his two-year suspended sentence in May 2010, was suspended from the party for five years. It looks as though Jacob Zuma is not afraid to be seen with this nasty piece of work.
In April 2010 I reported on Julius Malema's words when expelling a BBC reporter, Jonah Fisher, from a press conference for daring to comment on where Julius Malema lives - "You live in Sandtown"; he raised this point because Malema had just criticised the Movement for Democratic Change for having offices in affluent Sandton. To which Julius Malema replies:
"This is a building of the revolutionary party and you know nothing of the revolution... here you behave or else you jump(?).. can you get security to remove this thing(?)... don't come here with that white tendencies(?)... you are a small boy, you cannot do anything... go out, go out, bastard... you bloody agent... "Read my previous articles on Julius Malema for more of a flavour of this person. Don't expect to see the video of this song on the BBC anytime soon though.

Another step on the road to the Zimbabweisation of South Africa - 'expropriation with compensation determined by the state'
I read that the delightful Julius Malema has been warning white South African farmers again.
"It's a simple policy. We're going to take the land, but we'll compensate and we'll determine the price. We go to [Eugene] Terre'Blanche's farm and say: for these many hectares we will give you R2m, thank you very much.Is President Jacob Zuma willing or able to reign in Julius Malema? I doubt it for long and within 10 years I predict that white South African farmers will be facing the 'problems' that Zimbabwean farmers have for some years now. I further predict that just as the land-grab policies in Zimbabwe destroyed Zimbabwe's agricultural sector, so Julius Malema's policy will destroy South Africa's.
"If you say that's too little and you don't want it, then we take the land and give you nothing. It's called expropriation with compensation determined by the state."

Zimbabwe yesterday, South Africa tomorrow?
The Zimbabwe Mail has some worrying information for South Africans:
'Controversial South African youth leader for the African National Congress has said ANC will follow the example of Zimbabwe's Zanu PF and start to take over white-owned farms by the end of the year.South Africa's future as the 'rainbow nation' looks less likely by the day.
The comments were made by Julius Malema at a mine 160 kilometers outside Harare in Zimbabwe.
The ANC Youth Wing leader, enthused by rented Zanu PF crowd, said Zimbabwe had led the way in fighting over land and promised to unleash Zimbabwean tactics on South African white farmers.
He encouraged Zimbabweans to also take over white and foreign-owned companies. Malema said the people must embrace liberation and continue to fight against what he called Western imperialism.
He said: "You are not alone. Your struggle is our struggle."
Malema also said he would continue to sing the song: "Kill the Boer," a former ANC chant against the apartheid regime. The song was last week banned in a South African court.
The ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema, shot to fame by expressing his undying support for the South African President, Jacob Zuma, by saying: "We are prepared to take up arms and kill for Zuma."'

Zimbabwe update
It's been a while since I last blogged about the ongoing crisis in Zimbabwe, wher the story has been one of Robert Mugabe speaking the language of cooperation with the opposition but practicing something else entirely. Today I read in The Telegraph that:
"A secret airstrip is being built in a diamond field illegally seized by the Zimbabwean army 14 months ago which would enable clandestine weapons shipments. "Robert Mugabe is a tyrant but until South Africa takes action his people will continue to live in poverty; the breadbasket of Africa is now just another African basket-case.

Friday morning catchup
So much news, so little time:
1. The Telegraph report that:
2. The Telegrpah report on the truth behind Barack Obama's alleged modesty over his Nobel Peace Prize. No surprises there...
3. The Times report that:
4. The Telegraph reports that the Zimbabwe power-sharing agreement is not going well...
5. The Guardian has found an excuse to swear as much as possible online; possibly the most f-words and c-words I have seen in an online article, makes Devils Kitchen seem like a novice at swearing.
1. The Telegraph report that:
"British prosecutors were told more than two years ago that they had sufficient evidence to charge two Libyans over the killing of WPC Yvonne Fletcher, according to a leaked report. So why was there no attempt to prosecute? What possible reason could there be? You guessed it:
A senior lawyer carried out an independent review of the case on behalf of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), in which he said Matouk Mohammed Matouk and Abdulgader Mohammed Baghdadi could be charged with conspiracy to cause death.
Both men played instrumental roles in organising the shooting at the Libyan embassy in St James’s Square, central London, in 1984, the report said. "
"The secret report, which was commissioned by the CPS on behalf of the Metropolitan Police, was completed in April 2007, just six weeks before Tony Blair, the prime minister at the time, held a controversial meeting with Colonel Gaddafi in Libya. The meeting formally opened trade links between Britain and the north African country. "

3. The Times report that:
"Almost half of hospitals fail to meet fully the core standards of care despite a decade of Government investment in the NHS, according to the health regulator’s annual report."Envy of the World"?
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) warns today that more than 40 health trusts are at risk of being refused new licences to operate, which will be issued next April. "

Mugabe has built up a 10,000-acre farm of seized land
I am not surprised to read in The Telegraph that: "Robert Mugabe has built up a secret farming empire from land seized from at least five white-owned businesses". The man is a crook and deserves the opprobrium of the world but whilst South Africa support his regime he will stay in power, whilst much of his population starves.

So who thought Mugabe could be trusted?
I learn from my Zimbabwean sources that Robert Mugabe is not happy with power sharing. His latest ploy is to have some of Morgan Tsvangirai's MPs arrested. So far 17 MDC MPs have been arrested and four have been convicted by the courts. The latest MDC politician to be arrested is deputy minister for youth, Tamsanqa Mahlangu, who has been arrested for allegedly stealing a mobile phone from a Mugabe "war veteran" at a conference a few weeks ago.
As I have said over and over again, Robert Mugabe will not relinquish his hold on power in Zimbabwe voluntarily and it is South Africa that holds the key to the solution. So long as the ANC led government in South Africa treat Robert Mugabe as a hero of the revolution, the longer the people of Zimbabwe will have to live under tyranny, fear and starvation. Unfortunately I do not expect Jacob Zuma to be any more intellectually or morally capable of dealing properly with Robert Mugabe than Thabo Mbeki and Nelson Mandela were. I hate to break it to you but the ANC leaders of South Africa are no more moral and laudable than their predecessors from the National Party, they are just blacker.

Once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, the third time is enemy action
The title of this piece is my favourite James Bond quotation, said by Goldfinger when James Bond just keeps popping up. It came to mind as I read that Morgan Tsvangirai's grandson had just drowned. His wife and now his grandson...

The thirty-third weekly "No shit, Sherlock" award
This week's award goes to The Telegraph for this headline and sun-header:
"No shit, Sherlock"
"Morgan Tsvangirai crash 'was designed to eliminate leader' - Senior lieutenants of Zimbabwe's prime minister Morgan Tsvangirai on Sunday privately disputed claims that a traffic incident that killed his wife last week was an accident. "

This is not going to end well in Zimbabwe
This news does not bode well: "Zimbabwe's MDC party says it will carry out its own independent investigation into the cause of Friday's crash in Morgan Tsvangirai's wife Susan died."

An "accident"
The news that Morgan Tsvangirai's wife, Susan, has been killed in a car crash which left the Zimbabwean prime minister injured has left me wondering who caused the "accident". I wonder what odds I would get on it being caused by a Mugabe supporter?
Robert Mugabe will not give up power and Zimbabwe knows this.

Quantative Easing (update)
The BBC report that:
Hyper-inflation here we come; the Zimbabweisation of the UK continues apace. Harassment of opposition MPs, totalitarian security laws and now hyper-inflation, welcome to the third world.
"The Bank of England is seeking approval from the government for a series of measures aimed at increasing the supply of money in the economy.
Technically known as quantitative easing, the aim of the process is to try to increase the amount of funds in the UK banking system.
The hope is that this will make it easier for the commercial banks to start to increase their lending levels.
Analysts said the Bank could start to introduce measures within days.
These are likely to include the purchase of both government and corporate bonds.
The bank's decision to introduce quantitative easing was unanimously agreed by its nine-member Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) at their meeting earlier this month. "

Zimbabwe update
The telegraph reports on the arrest and silencing of Jestina Mukoko. What caught my eye was the list of the 20,143 incidents between January and September 2008 including:
- 202 murders
- 463 abductions
- 41 rapes
- 411 cases of torture
- 3,942 assaults
- 907 cases of malicious damage to property
- 444 cases of unlawful detention
- 10,795 cases of harassment/intimidation
How many UN Resolutions have been passed condemning Zimbabwe this year? How many have been passed condemning Israel?

US Election fraud update (update)
I have blogged previously, including here about the way that the Democrats are stealing the US elections. Today I read at American Thinker that:
Before we Brits get complacent, remember the Labour party have been trying out many techniques for a while and the electoral fraud at next general election will make the similarities between the UK and Zimbabwe more than just economic.
"The Minnesota Senate contest between Norm Coleman and Al Franken is getting more brutal by the day. Coleman’s lead over Franken is drifting downward as “corrections’ seem to favor Franken. The Coleman campaign is crying foul. What is particularly interesting is the role played by Minnesota’s Secretary of State, Mark Ritchie, under whose auspices these totals are being corrected and compiled.
He is not only a Democrat but was elected with the financial help of a group of wealthy Democrats whose goal was to elect Democrats to fill the Secretary of States positions-a key position of power given the importance of the these officials to ensure the honesty and integrity of the voting process. I wrote about this stealth strategy before Ohio’s voting procedures were controversial and the decisions made by that Secretary of State (Brunner) effectively favoring Barack Obama were criticized. She, too, was elected with the help of that same group of Democrats formed to elect Secretary of States in key battlegrounds. "

Robert Mugabe goes back on his word - shock, horror
The BBC report that:
"Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe has allocated key ministries to his own party - in defiance of a power-sharing deal, reports say.Hmmm, on 16 September I blogged that:
The opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) said the move had put the deal "in jeopardy".
The MDC had signed the power-sharing agreement with Mr Mugabe's Zanu-PF party on 15 September.
But the parties have been deadlocked in allocating ministries and have called back South African mediators.
South Africa's former President Thabo Mbeki was invited back after a meeting on Friday between Mr Mugabe, MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai and MDC splinter group head Arthur Mutambara.
But state media on Saturday reported that Mr Mugabe had allocated the ministries responsible for the army, police and other state security to Zanu-PF."
"I wouldn't trust Robert Mugabe to stick to his power-sharing agreement for more than a few weeks. This is a time-wasting move, nothing more. Before Morgan Tsvangirai gets too comfortable he would do remember the name of someone else who shared power with Robert Mugabe, Joshua Nkomo."Maybe I should apply for a journalism job at the BBC since I seem to be capable of independent thought and analysis rather then regurgitating whatever news release I have just been handed.

The Zimbabwe power-sharing talks
I'll make this clear for the hard of thinking - ROBERT MUGABE WILL NOT GIVE UP EXECUTIVE POWER. The news that
"The passport of Zimbabwe opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai was briefly seized today as he tried to fly to talks to end the leadership dispute with president Robert Mugabe."should come as no surprise.
