NUS ignore Jews?

The National Union of Students (NUS) missed out Judaism as an option in a survey question on students’ religions, just six months after the same omission was made on an earlier questionnaire.

In both instances, a question about students’ religions gave the following options: “Buddhist”, “Christian”, “Hindu”, “Muslim”, “Sikh”, “Spiritual”, “Agnostic”, “Atheist”, “Any other religion or belief”, “Other”, and “Prefer not to say”.

After the first omission in July, Shakira Martin, NUS president, said the situation would be dealt with.

Strangely this has not been reported by the BBC, I wonder why.

These are college students!

I'm not sure which people in this video irritate me more: the ones who know nothing "Honestly I don't even know anything" or the women who think it "will be fun to like have a female President"

Student Labour leader quits amid antisemitism claims per The Jewish Chronicle

This JC report is a must read, here's an extract:
'The co-chair of a leading student Labour group has quit amid accusations that colleagues "have some kind of problem with Jews".

Alex Chalmers said he was leaving the "poisonous" Oxford University Labour Club (OULC) after it endorsed Israel Apartheid Week, due to take place next week.

Mr Chalmers claimed fellow students had expressed "solidarity" with Hamas and had claimed accusations of antisemitism were "just the Zionists crying wolf".

...

In a lengthy Facebook post published following his resignation on Monday evening, Mr Chalmers wrote that he had invested "an extraordinary amount of time, energy, and emotion" in the club.

But it had become "increasingly riven by factional splits, and despite its avowed commitment to liberation, the attitudes of certain members of the club towards certain disadvantaged groups was becoming poisonous".

Students had used the term "Zio" with "casual abandon" he wrote.

They had also expressed "their 'solidarity' with Hamas and explicitly defending their tactics of indiscriminately murdering civilians".

Mr Chalmers claimed one colleague had claimed that "most accusations of antisemitism are just the Zionists crying wolf".

"A large proportion of both OULC and the student left in Oxford more generally have some kind of problem with Jews," he added.'

It will be interesting to see if the BBC report this story. What am I saying...

Jewish Fruit Bad, Islamist Nuts Good – University of York | Stand for Peace

'The Costcutter supermarket at the University of York has initiated a boycott of Israeli goods, following a campaign by a newly formed student group, the Palestinian Solidarity Society (PSS). The first product to be taken off the shelves has been Jaffa oranges, as reported by York student newspaper Nouse.

The boycott is the latest step in a campaign by extremist groups to boycott Jewish and Israeli goods.

But as StandforPeace has discovered, the agenda behind the decision to stop stocking Israeli products has strongly anti-Jewish overtones. Whilst Costcutter is happy to ban Jewish goods, it continues to sell Iranian pistachios – an industry that, unlike businesses in Israel, is closely connected to the government.'

Stand for Peace reported the above.

As I keep on telling you, it's not about Israel it's about Jews.

Have you noticed photos of what types of students newspapers use to illustrate stories about A-level results?

Sexy A-Levels think that they have spotted a pattern, and it involves sexy young female students! they also have a fascinating insight into this picture...

Meanwhile Biased-BBC have spotted a different approach at the right-on BBC.

Was NUS President Aaron Porter the victim of anti-Semitic abuse?

I blogged the accusations that he had been and read in many places the leftist denials that he had. So I was interested to read at Harry's Place that Aaron Porter himself says that he was in a piece in The Times:
'However, before I was able to speak to the rally of thousands, a small group of people started to chant abuse to try to intimidate me, and there were audible anti-Semitic comments. Racism is something that student activists have been fighting to eliminate for decades and this was a sobering reminder that there is still work to do.
I wouldn’t associate the racist comments with everyone in this breakaway group, who are largely drawn from hard Left factions and who disagree with the tactics and some of the policies of the NUS. For them it is not enough for the NUS to mobilise 50,000 students and lecturers to protest against the rise in tuition fees; instead they say we should be standing alongside those who kick in windows and burn effigies of Nick Clegg.
Those tactics are wrong and do not work. I represent the vast majority of students who believe that peaceful protest should be one part of a campaign.'
I await the leftists' apologies; albeit probably in vain.

Justice

Yesterday I blogged that
'there is a lot of video and still photos of 'students' breaking windows and throwing objects. I would like each and every person identifiable be charged with criminal damage, affray or some other public order offence, convicted and punished. The punishment should not be just a warning and a metaphorical slap on the wrist but a serious custodial punishment.

I also trust that University Vice-Chancellors will be viewing the images and taking action against any of their 'students' found to have been guilty of public order offences.'
So I am pleased to see that someone wants to do something positive, Guido Fawkes has tweeted
'Gathering evidence of NUS officials who rioted yesterday - send names, photos, tips to guido.fawkes@order-order.com'
Do please assist, these people need to know that their violent actions will have consequences.

The student protests

Unacceptable behaviour but what I want to say is that there is a lot of video and still photos of 'students' breaking windows and throwing objects. I would like each and every person identifiable be charged with criminal damage, affray or some other public order offence, convicted and punished. The punishment should not be just a warning and a metaphorical slap on the wrist but a serious custodial punishment.

I also trust that University Vice-Chancellors will be viewing the images and taking action against any of their 'students' found to have been guilty of public order offences.

I have been warning for some time of civil disorder by elements fighting against 'the cuts' and unless strong action is taken now against these 'students' they will only get bolder and more dangerous.

How evil; deporting illegal migrant workers.

LabourList report that:
"Students at SOAS have occupied the university in protest at the treatment of their cleaners. SOAS contracted their cleaning out to the private company ISS. Early on Friday 12th June ISS called a meeting ostensibly on sick pay. ISS and the SOAS management were hiding forty camouflage-clad Immigration and Border Police, who went on to arrest nine cleaners, four of whom have already been deported, one of whom was heavily pregnant. They were not allowed any legal or trade union representation."
So SOAS students are occupying their university in support for illegal economic migrants. I wonder if Johnny Darlington is involved.

Students; don't you just love them? Not all of those from SOAS, no. Here is a report on the anti-Israel sentiments openly expresses at SOAS -
"an article published in SOAS Spirit, the glossy student magazine. The article, "When Only Violence Will Do," scoffs at the concept of "innocent" Israeli victims, describes the whole of Israel as a Jewish colony that should be dismantled and calls for all Zionists to be "exposed.""
