Timeless Week - Day 2

June 11, 2024

Hello!
Amy here today with a VERSATILE and FUN set called Timeless.

The hourglass focal point was die cut from dark grey cardstock and layered together for dimension.  The sand image is stamped first in a light grey ink and second in a darker grey ink at the edges.  To the top and bottom of the sand, a fine line of glitter glue was added.

The hourglass was added to a notecard with foam adhesive to the Oval Burst Frame (retired) and was backed with grey striped paper from Avery Elle (retired).  I added some die cut stars and scattered them and added glitter glue.  Lastly, the banner was stamped with "enjoy your retirement" and the edges blended with grey ink.

Thank you for spending a part of your day here!

Brilliant Birthday Week - Day 3

April 17, 2024

Hi there!

Elena here, with a card featuring Brilliant Birthday:

My son is turning 17 within a week, so I thought I would use the set to make the card feel more personal to him! I broke up the sentiment and used the pieces that I liked best, stamping Happy Birthday onto a banner die, and then "to my amazing son" inside the cake (from Everyday Cake).

I backed the cake with an Oval Burst die, and it's all set to gift to my (very) amazing son!

I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

Farm Fresh Christmas Week - Day 3

November 2, 2022

Hi there!

Elena here, with a card featuring the adorable Farm Fresh Christmas set:

I can't even tell you how much I love this set! I colored the barn red, because.... Christmas, added some lights hanging from the main entrance, flanked the barn on either side with pine trees, and added a friendly snowman to see you in! I stamped North Pole Farms above the doorway, framed out the images with an Oval Burst die-cut.

To finish off the card, I added falling snow with white nuvo drops, and even added wisps of snow to the tops of the open barn doors.

I hope you like it!

Beachy Week - Day 2

July 26, 2022

Hi everyone!
Amy here with a mid-summer card for those "sunny" days!!!

The Beachy stamp set is so fun with lots of adorable images to create your own beach scene!  The background was done by ink blending a die cut (using the Slimline Borders Elements) over and over to create a blue, summer sky.  The beach was ink blended lightly with a brown ink.  The focal point was made using the Oval Burst Elle-ments and adding it with foam adhesive to the background.

The beach elements were all Copic colored, die cut, and added to the scene with foam adhesive.  For some sparkle, Crystal Stickles was added to the images.  The sentiment was stamped onto a banner die from Easy Layers 1 Elle-ments.

Here's to some sunny summer days!!!

Feels Like Home With Amy

May 20, 2022

Hello! I have this cute card to share with you today... Check it out.
---

Hi crafty friends!
Amy here with a cozy little scene using the sets Feels Like Home and Feels Like Home Additions.  Using these sets together, can make for endless scenes!!!

We recently made a cozy "reading" corner in our living room.  While our chair is not blue, it is green and very comfy!  The chair, plant stand, and kitty images were all from Feels Like Home.  The rest of the images (plant, light, rabbit) are all from Feels Like Home Additions.  I did create a "beam" of light yellow light by masking off the area and ink blending a light yellow ink.

The Oval Burst Elle-ments is one of my favorites and it was perfect to "frame" my scene.  Once the frame was adhered to the notecard with the beam of light, all my images were added with various layers of foam adhesive.  A white pigment ink details were added to finish the card.

Birthday Paw-ty Week - Day 4

March 17, 2022

Hey everyone! Heather here.

Today, I've got a card using the new Birthday Paw-ty stamp set.

To create my card, first I stamped and die cut every single image. There's so much in here it's fun to stamp it all out. Then I colored it all in.
Once I had selected my images, I decided to mount it in front of an Oval Burst die layer. Lots of foam and it all came together so easily!
Thanks for stopping by!

You Did It Week

January 26, 2022

Hello! Before we get to Katie's card today I wanted to thank her for all that she has done for me and Avery Elle over the last many years.   Not only has Katie created amazing cards for us but she has traveled to Creativation with me where we stayed up late chatting and laughing many nights.  She is just the best.  Sadly this is Katie's last post for us but I know that she is going to continue to inspire us all through her blog, http://katiegehring.blogspot.com/ and all her future endeavors .  Let's check out Katie's card for us today.

Hello friends,

Katie here with a card featuring the You Did It stamps. This is such a great festive set. It works for so many celebrations- birthdays, graduations and other accomplishments.

For my card, I decided to play around with a little heat embossing and ink blending. I stamped the pennants with Veramark ink and heat embossed the images using gold embossing powder.

Next I added some color to the images using Distress Oxide inks. I created an inky background on an A2 card base and added the Oval Bust Frame. I tucked in the pennants and adhered everything to the card with foam tape.

As a finishing touch, I added a few clear sequins.

Supplies:

Dies: You Did It Elle-ments

I hope this card added a festive smile to your day. Thanks for stopping by!

Monster Love Week

January 10, 2022

Hi there!

Elena here, with a fun card featuring Monster Love:

Isn't he so cute? I'm definitely saving this one for my little nephew's next birthday! I started out by stamping and coloring my favorite monster, with his 3 googly eyes. Then, I gave him a balloon and a cake to hold. I love the extra paw that you can stamp and place on top so it really looks like he's holding onto that cake! The cake is from the Frenchie stamp set!

To color the monster, I used a new-to-me copic grouping: B01, B93, B95 and B97. For the horns, I did a deeper blue blend using B34, B37 and B39.

To frame out my monster, I used the Oval Burst die. It's my go-to for a quick but eye-catching card design! I backed the oval opening with a black paper so that the monster could really pop! To finish off, I stamped the 2-part sentiment, added them to die-cut banners, and placed them on the card.

I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

Fall Picnic Week - Day 2

August 31, 2021

Hello friends!

Katie here with a card and a technique to share featuring the absolutely charming Fall Picnic clear stamps.  For coloring, I typically reach for Copic markers, but Copics can also be complimented with colored pencils to enhance the stamped images.

Below are the stamped images using just Copic markers. I chose to leave few of the detailed images uncolored so that I could add color using colored pencils.

In this next photo, I added shading and detail with colored pencils and a white gel pen.

Colored pencils allow you to add depth and dimension with more precision and control. If you are new to using these two color mediums together, here are a few tips:

  • Make sure your pencils are super sharp. I purchased an inexpensive electric pencil sharpener from Amazon just for this purpose.
  • Start with a light touch when adding deeper shades. You can always deepen the intensity of the color with additional layers.
  • Use colored pencils to color the tiny images. A sharp pencil can easily navigate the most detailed elements.
  • If you aren't sure where to add color with pencils, think about the corners and crevices where shadows would lie. Colored pencils can also reinforce detail lines on the stamped images like those on the tree stumps.

Once all the images where colored, I die cut the stamped images using the coordinating Elle-ments dies.

For the background, I did a quick blend of Distress Oxide ink onto a panel of watercolor card stock and spattered it with water and white ink. I positioned the blended panel behind the Oval Burst Elle-ments die.

I adhered all the stamped images to the card. Finally, I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of black card stock with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope that you are inspired to try pairing Copic markers and colored pencils together on your next coloring project!

Halloween S'mores Week - Day 2

August 24, 2021

Hi there!

Elena here with a fun card featuring the new Halloween S'mores stamp set:

I wanted to up the drama with the focal image, so I grabbed the Oval Burst die to frame them out. I created a night sky behind them, and did some ink blending on the burst layer as well to create this monochromatic backdrop for the s'mores buddies. A little tip for ink blending: don't start with a sheet of white cardstock if your goal is something dark and moody! I cut the burst frame out of a dark blue paper, and then used a dark blue and a black ink to add most of the darkness right at the opening of the frame.

I finished off the card with a sentiment from the set. I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

Frenchie Week - Day 3

January 13, 2021

Hi!  Amy here today with a BIRTHDAY card using the stamp set, Frenchie.

I went with primary colors for a change and colored the wagon, cake, balloons, and present with Copic markers.  To create my scene, I stenciled some clouds in the background with Broken China Distress Ink and added a frame using the Oval Burst Elle-ments in red cardstock.

The sentiment was stamped selectively by masking off a portion to make it fit the scene and the oval shape.  The Copic colored images were all added with various levels of foam adhesive.

Sending Flowers Week - Day 2

January 5, 2021

Hi there!

Elena here, with a card using a set from our current release, Sending Flowers.

I used the big envelope image from Sending Hugs, mixed it in with flowers from Sending Flowers, and added a sprig from an older set, Fall Foliage.

I used Copic markers to color all of the leaves in various greens, and the flowers and berries in deep reds and purples. I added some light blue shading to the white envelope and placed it, off-centered, onto a Burst Elle-ments frame.

Behind the sunburst background die, I added a piece of burgundy cardstock, and then onto a white card base. The greeting was heat-embossed onto a pink sentiment banner.

I hope you like it!

Here's what I used on my card:

Loads Of Thanks Week - Day 2

December 15, 2020

Hello friends,

Katie here with couple cards to share with  you today featuring the Loads of Thanks stamp set and coordinating Elle-ments dies. I was able to get two cards out of the same amount of design effort.

I blended several shades of Distress Oxide ink onto a panel of watercolor card stock. I die cut the "thanks" word and outline from the blended panel and from white card stock. I layered the word and outline and used Avery Elle's Liquid Glue adhesive to attached the word to the outline.

I die cut two of the Oval Burst Elle-ments and stamped some of the sentiments onto white card stock with black ink. I trimmed out the sentiments with scissors.

I assembled the cards varying the layout and orientation slightly. I attached the "thanks" die cut to the card with foam tape for a little extra dimension.  A few clear flat sequins add a finishing touch.

Adorable Unicycle Cards by Elena

September 16, 2020

Hello!  While we are getting ready for our next release on Sept 24th I will be featuring some of my favorite Design Team projects from our Summer release.  They are so amazing and they are worth taking a second look!  I cannot wait to show you the 14 stamp sets and 15 die sets that we have coming out on September 24th.   They are sooo good! In the meantime, enjoy these great projects by Elena!

Hi there! Elena here, with a few cards using the Unicycle stamp set from the current Avery Elle release. I might be biased because I drew these cuties, but I just think they bring the party!

Unicycles! (for Avery Elle)

My 1st card is a 1-layer panel. I got the stamps in the mail and was too impatient to wait for the dies! There was a bit of masking involved but it wasn't difficult. I kind of love all of the images from the stamp set on this one card! They look like a birthday parade coming through... I backed the main panel onto a piece of polka-dotted paper from The Holiday Collection paper pad.

Unicycles! (for Avery Elle)

My next card uses the dies (yay!) I used the extra little die that cuts a slit into the rhino's body so that you could tuck the cake or the present in there. I gave him a balloon too, and a party hat, and sat him on his unicycle. I threw confetti all around and framed him out using the Burst die. I finished off the card with a sentiment from another new set, Peek-A-Boo Coaster.

Unicycles! (for Avery Elle)

I went a lot softer with the color palette on this last card. I used the tower-o-monkeys (hee hee) and gave them the pennant flag to hold. I dotted the sky with puffy clouds from Cupids and gave them a little bee friend (from Beary Good Friends) to look at.

I hope you like my cards for today! Thanks for stopping by!
