Three Hearts Week - Day 1 & A Winner

November 12, 2018

Hey there this is Nicky with you today and I'm sharing a card I've made using the lovely new and ever so useful 'Three Hearts Die' from Avery Elle's newest release.  This die will make your Valentine's cards incredibly easy!

For this card I called upon an old favourite stamp set Woodland Wonders.  I fancied this card as a love card from parent to younger child and so I imagined it like a children's book.

The card starts with a panel of white cardstock which I die cut using the Large Pierced Scallops Elle-ments die.  I then ink blended the edge softly using Distress Oxide Ink in Tumbled Glass.   I then die cut the Three Hearts Die.  I ink blended the negative heart cuts  with more of the Tumbled Glass and also with Cracked Pistachio and stamped a few tufts of grass from Woodland Wonders.

I stamped the sentiment 'LOVE you' in the top right hand corner using the new 'And Then' sentiment set then applied dimensional foam tape to the back of the panel and applied it to a Kraft cardstock base.  I applied adhesive to the back of each ink blended heart and recessed them carefully through the openings.  On Bristol Smooth cardstock I stamped the characters from Woodland Wonders, I then watercolour painted them then die cut and applied them with more dimensional foam tape.

To finish out this card I applied some toning sequins and then created a white paper writing insert inside the card (80lb weight) and stamped that with another sentiment from the 'And Then' sentiment set which reads:  You Make My Heart Happy.

I appreciate you stopping by to read about this card today, I hope you are a little inspired - happy crafting!

A Merry Little Christmas Week - Day 2

October 23, 2018

Hello friends!

It's Yainea here today sharing a Christmas card featuring the adorable stamps from A Merry Little Christmas. I love the critters in this set! They are not only super cute but there are a prefect sized critter for any Christmas card, I've been using them on different cards lately and they are always the perfect addition :)

This time I decided to use the big bear with the Christmas tree, so as he was going to be the star of the show, I only added two smaller critters and kept my scene super simple.

I colored the critters with alcohol markers and die cut them. Then, I started creating my scene, I masked a snowy floor and inked the background with inks creating a soft gradient. I sprinkled the background with some water and, when it was dry, I die cut it using that beautiful scalloped die.

I heat embossed the sentiment using white embossing powder and arranged the critters in the scene. Finally, I used some dimensional adhesive to adhere the scene panel to a base card with some patterned paper.
I wanted to add some final touches, so I tied some white cord on top making a bow, I added some snow with white liquid enamel and last, some shine here and there with my Wink of Stella pen.

I hope you like my card for today, thanks for stopping by and have a nice day!!

Sea-Prise! Week - Day 2

July 3, 2018

Hello this is Nicky with you today to share a card using Sea Prise.  This is such a fun stamp set to help let your underwater creative dreams take shape!  Of course there are coordinating dies!

On smooth watercolour cardstock I stamped my puffer fish using Archival Ink and I then watercolour painted and die cut them out.  Next I created a watery background on a cardstock panel using Distress Inks that I blended using oversized stencil brushes.  I applied this to the base and then created a frame with grey cardstock using the larger plain rectangular die from Large Pierced Scallops Elle-ments.

This frame was applied to the background with dimensional foam tape behind it to lift it up.  The puffer fish were applied with more foam tape and then the sentiment and shoals of fish were stamped using Archival Ink.

The finishing touch was the application of 'water droplets' which I applied using a special glass effect product to make dimensional bubbles.

I hope you find this card inspiring, until the next time, thanks for stopping by to read.

Magnolia Week - Day 1 & Winner

May 14, 2018

This week we are featuring projects from our Magnolia clear stamps and die set. The design team's projects are amazing so enjoy! Nicky is here with our first post of the week. Isn't the card gorgeous?

Hello everybody this is Nicky with you today on the blog sharing a card using - Magnolia - from the new Avery Elle Summer Release.  As you might expect there are coordinating dies to compliment the stamp set.  I decided on a special shaker card and to create this I die cut a white panel using the rectangular die from the Large Pierced Scallops die set to create a broad frame.

I lined the back of the frame with acetate and applied dimensional foam tape around the border, filled it generously with a a fun mix from my collection of glitters and sequins.  I then applied another layer of acetate to seal it all in and adjoined this to the card base.

On smooth watercolour cardstock I lightly stamped the images using distress inks.  I masked off areas of the stamp and stamped in green then cleaned, re-masked then stamped in pink so that my outline colours were what I wanted. Next I watercolour painted the flower images applying a little more colour for depth here and there.  When I was happy I die cut the flowers and applied them to the acetate shaker window using dimensional foam tape.

I decided the card simply didn't need a sentiment on the outside, although one could easily have been added and the stamp set does include some pretty ones.  The finishing touch was some subtle glimmer that I applied with a gel pen which only shows when the card is handled and moved.

The shaker window was sufficiently filled so that the contents didn't just sit at the bottom, but also leaving just enough room to give a satisfying shuffling sound when shaken.

Thank you so much for taking a moment to read about how I made this card.  See you next time!

Windmill Week - Day 3

December 27, 2017

Hello friends,

Katie here with a card to share with you today featuring the adorable Windmill stamp set.  The Windmill stamp set reminds me of the Netherlands, and the Netherlands remind me of Delft Blue China and Ceramics.  Check out this sweet music box- classic Delft.

Using Delft Blue ceramics as an inspiration, I stamped and colored my Windmill with lots of moody blue Copic Markers (B21, B23, B24, B26 and B28).

I used the Large Pierced Scallops Elle-ments die to create the frame for the little Dutch Delft scene.  I die cut the frame several times from blue card stock and adhered the layers together.

I hope you enjoyed this little Dutch journey.

Shaped Cards With Katie

November 29, 2017

Hello friends,

Katie here with a sweet card to share with you featuring the new Windmill stamp set along with the Large Pierced Scallops Dies.  A linked list of all the Avery Elle products used on my card is at the end of the post.

The Large Pierced Scalloped dies are wonderful as a layer on a rectangle A-2 card, but I used the largest rectangle die to create a shaped card base.  To create the shaped card base, I started with a top fold A-2 card.  Next I positioned the largest die on over the card base so that the top fold would not be cut by the die.  I ran the card and die through the die cut machine and created the shaped card base.

Next, I create the front of the card by cutting a panel of white card stock and a panel of green card stock with the largest scalloped die.  With  an ink brush, I created the soft yellow background and I used the Dotted Borders Elle-ments die to create the slopes in the hills.

Finally, I stamped the images from the Windmill stamp set onto white card stock and colored them in using Copic Markers. I die cut the images and adhered them to the card front before adhering the card front to the scalloped card base.

I love this little scene- with all the flowers and bugs, it's like a breath of spring as the weather is turning colder!

Thanks for stopping by!

SALE & Large Pierced Scallop Dies - Day 4

November 23, 2017

Hi! Ashley here today sharing the amazing Large Pierced Scallop dies. This is one of those die sets you can use again and again. I've already used it several times!

In today's card, I started by stamping the coffee cup from Cool Beans. This coffee cup is SO fun to decorate. I added the bear and deer from Winter Woodland Wonders by masking the sides of the cup image, then I die cut and colored the cups. Next, I stamped the hearts from Cool Beans, colored and die cut them.

Next, I blended Distress Ink on a the back panel and embossed the perfect greeting from Merriest. It's so fun to dig through my older stamps to find the perfect greeting to match the new release!

I finished the card with the sweet white frame from from Large Pierced Scallop dies and my card was complete!

Thanks for sharing some crafting time with me!

SALE & Large Pierced Scallops - Day 3

November 22, 2017

Hello!  Amy K. here with my take on the new Large Pierced Scallops Elle-ments.  There are so many uses for a die set like this!  I love to use my dies for shaped cards and the largest scallop rectangle is perfect!

Pierced Scallop Rectangle

I started my card by using the largest scallop rectangle die to cut my card base.  To do this, you place your folded cardstock just below the cutting edge of your die.  What you are left with is a shaped card base!

Pierced Scallop Rectangle2

For my main panel, I used the layering rectangle in the Large Pierced Scallops Elle-ments.
I love this coffee themed set, Cool Beans, that has 6 fun sentiments in a cool font.  This set is perfect for all those coffee lovers out there!  I repeatedly stamped the 'thanks a latte' in New Moon Dye Ink and stamped one of the small heart stamps in between the repeated sentiments.  I colored in the heart with Copic R29.  My to go coffee cup was colored in with Copic 110.  For the cozy, I made my own buffalo check pattern with red cardstock and the Copic 110.

Large Pierced Scallops & Tip

Hello, Caryn here and today I'm sharing a card featuring the new Large Pierced Scallops Elle-ments.  This collection of dies has so many uses but I particularly love how you can create a perfect frame for your 4' x 5 1/4" cards as well as a smaller frame.  I'm really into neutral colour schemes at the moment (maybe the time of year) so used a very natural palette for my card today.

I used Avery Elle Truffle Dye Ink for all my stamping and added some colour using Copics.  There are a couple of little dots in this set so I added some polka dots to the roof of my windmill - now I want to cover everything in polka dots!!!
I curved the sentiment on my MISTI so that it would follow the line in the banner and then used foam tape to give everything a wee bit of dimension.

Modern Calligraphy Week - Day 5

November 17, 2017

Hi Everyone! Today I'm sharing some of the sweet new stamps and dies just released!

Alphabet stamps are on the top of my favorites list and Modern Calligraphy is a show stopper. It is my DIY dream come true!

For my card today, I personalized it by starting the card with my daughter's name. Stamping the letters was so easy. I just used a ruler to make a soft pencil line, stamped, then erased my line.

Next, I die cut the frame from Large Pierced Scallop Dies. The pink patterned paper from The Sorbet Collection is also one of my favorites. I stamped, die cut and colored the otter and hearts from Otterly Fantastic. Isn't that otter so sweet?

I finished the card by ink blending the waves on the card base, assembling all of my stamped and die cut pieces and then finally stamping the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed my card today! I can't wait to see what YOU create.

Modern Calligraphy Week - Day 3

November 15, 2017

Hello friends,

Katie here with a simple project to share with you today featuring the Modern Calligraphy stamp set.  I love to add a little handmade touch to my celebrations- whatever the occasion! Last weekend was the semi-annual weekend retreat with my crafty friends, so I created some place cards to decorate their tables.

First, I used the Large Pierced Scallop Rectangles to die cut the paper. Next, I stamped each letter of my friends' names with black ink.  It may look tricky, but the letters flow together wonderfully.  I was really pleased with the look- just like hand-lettered calligraphy! If your placement is off just a bit, you can use a black pigment ink pen to connect the letters.

I stamped and die cut the flower, coloring it in with Copic markers before adhering it to the place card with foam tape. I punched a small hole in each place card and tied it to the burlap leaf with some twine.  I found the burlap leaves at my local Hobby Lobby.

I've included a list of the Avery Elle supplies that I used to create these place cards below.

I hope you'll consider adding a little handmade touch to your next celebration or event!

Modern Calligraphy Week - Day 2

November 14, 2017

Hey Avery Elle fans!  It's Caryn here today sharing a card using some of the fun new products from our brand new Winter release.    The new Modern Calligraphy alphabet set is a delight - so easy to line up!  The little flowers and other elements in the set are great for dressing it up  too - I love it.

I started by putting some patterned paper onto my card front and then die cut a frame 4 times using some of the dies from the new Large Pierced Scallops elle-ments.  I stacked them up to give the frame a bit more dimension and then stamped the word "hey" using the Modern Calligraphy alphabet.  From that set I also stamped and die cut some of the flower images to dress the frame up a wee bit more.  The "congrats" is taken from the Balloons and Banners stamp set from the release.  To finish I added some little sequins and a added touch of shimmer to the flowers.
