Tulip chairs are a true American classic from years past. Nothing could be more functional or attractive or comfortable to sit on in the garden than these old vintage chairs. In fact, they were so comfortable, and people remember them so fondly that these vintage chairs are now being made again-and have achieved quite a following amongst garden lovers everywhere.
Years ago I had posted about the tulip chairs, aka candy bouncers. I really like these chairs in my garden. So imagine my surprise when at a pit stop in Alabama at Tin Top Antiques in Hartselle Alabama I came across a vintage tulip chair. This is the first and only time I have actually seen why the chairs were called tulips-or at least I think the painted and embossed tulip may have something to do with tulip chairs. Do you see the painted tulip on the above chair? The paint is not original to the chair but if you look closely I think you can see where the metal is stamped in the form of a tulip. That is original to the chair. I thought it so neat I had to share it with you all....

Do you own a tulip chair?
