The boys in Black and White...

~

~
I never get tired of watching...Julie was eating her breakfast and I was watching the deer eat their breakfast. Julie snorted and made her nervous blowing sound. I looked behind me and there stood 4 beautiful bucks. It was a bit early for photos, not much light...But I managed a few!

Toad in the Watering can...

I have a watering can set under the eaves on the bunkhouse to catch any rain water we get. I noticed there was a toad in there the other night. (We actually have a lot of toads all over the place lately) The next morning I looked in there and didn't see the toad, hmmm? I filled the can up to water my plants and out he pops from the stem of the sprinkler part...Not a good place to hide Mr. Toad...

.

I ended up emptying the water can and got Mr. Toad out before I watered my house plants! Last night as I was stepping outside I looked down and there was Mr. Toad in the watering can again. Guess he is either very thirsty or he didn't learn his lesson the first time. Obviously he can get in but not out...

Baby Squirrel.

 ~
Michael had a friend over and while playing on the bridge a baby squirrel found them. The boys called me to come check it out. Not sure where its Mother was but it was young. It would follow the boys around grunting. Poor thing. I told the boys to leave it alone and let nature take it's course. Nature isn't always kind but we believe wild animals need to be left alone. I constantly talk to Michael about the food chain and we need to let nature takes it's course even if it's a cute baby animal. As to the baby squirrel when it realized the boys weren't going to feed it, it eventually went into the brush along the bridge. A memory the boys won't soon forget!

I love taking photos but I also love sharing the story behind the photos! I am not a great writer but hope to share more of these posts on here...
