Waiting, waiting, waiting.....

My day started at 7am...by 9am I was down at the property waiting on the water district lady to get a permit for our water well...Yes you heard me we are finally getting a water well put in, YES!!
By 11:30 am we were over to my in-laws ranch to help with a new patio...well no one was there when we got there...Everyone was in town getting supplies...We waited and waited and I finally grabbed my camera and said come on Michael lets go for a walk...NOT Michaels favorite phrase from me as he knows we are in for a good long walk...
It was beautiful out...I even saw a green jay (click here to see a photo I didn't take) but wasn't able to get a photo of it...it isn't easy getting bird photos with a 4 yr old tagging along, sigh!!
I did manage to get some other photos....

Butterflies mating...it's that time of year....love bugs, butterflies and I even saw a baby fawn by our house a few days ago....Love is in the air.

Coneflowers next to the San Antonio River.

A wildflower...lol...to tired to look it up but it was pretty.

A flower my Mother in law has in her garden.

This is my little guy and no he is not praying...he is POUTING!! He is tired of Momma taking photos and he is tired of walking...

Now he is laying on the tears....Oh so tired of me and my Camera, lol...By this time I am laughing and then he notices me taking photos of him...OH BOY!!

He STOMPS off and heads to the gate...totally disgusted with his Momma...he was going to walk back to the house without me until I reminded him the BULL that almost ran us over awhile back was in that pasture, lol...OOPS...he decided to wait for Momma!! Smart boy!!

Finally at 1pm everyone starts showing up and we get busy...something I thought would take a few hours ended up as a two day project...we were home by 9pm and are headed back over there tomorrow morning...Yikes...hopefully I can steal away for a possible photo of that green jay!!

Love bugs and Misc photos

If any of y'all are from the Southern United States then you know what love bugs are...I do NOT know their true name nor do I care...They are nasty, messy critters. Below is a close up photo and you can see they look quiet harmless...as you see the male and female are attached so you can see why they are called love bugs...and it's their breeding season, ugh!!!

Below is Fred's bumper on his truck...those are squashed love bugs...There are billions of the little darlin's and as you drive down the road they get smashed to smithereens on any part of your vehicle that is in their flight path...believe me it gets worse...
You can kind of, sort of see the Ford emblem below, lol....
And that below is the windshield...and this is right after Fred's truck was washed, Ekk...so it's not bad yet...wait until he drives a few more miles...it's that time of year!! Just thought I'd show you a pesky little critter that makes a BIG mess....and what we have to deal with at certain times of the year...
Now Fred and I were down at the property doing a little bit of work...well Fred was working...I decided to play Hookey and take photos, lol...I think Fred was happy as I wasn't bugging him...but then those darn love bugs might have been, lol...
Indian Blanket.

Toads, Toads, and more Toads...there were 4 Toads total in this hole...Yikes!! I actually took this photo in the yard and was watering my new grass seed when a hole filled up with water and out popped all these toads, lol....couldn't resist a photo....

A Texas Dandelion.

Well not to many photos, just a few....I basically wanted to tell the story of the love bugs and what a pain in the rear they are....

Misc photos of Grammies Visit

Grammie took Michael to the park on Tuesday to give Fred and I some time to ourselves...Thank you Grammie.

These are photos that Grammie took of Michael at the park.

Grammie also taught Michael to play battle ship...well he thinks he is playing (grin)!

Fred and I had a really nice time, it was quiet and peaceful. We worked down at the property (blog soon to follow of the photos I took), went to a movie (Leatherheads) and then to dinner...

Grammie leaves tomorrow and she will be missed...We had fun and I enjoyed her visit.

Kemah ~ Texas

After the Zoo on Saturday we drove over to the Kemah boardwalk for my Mother in Laws 70th Birthday part...we were a bit early (like 2.5 hrs) so we found a shady spot to sit and people watch and wait, and wait, and wait....lol

This is where we ate dinner.

While we waited Michael had a snow cone.

Downtown Houston Aquarium

We are HOME!! YEA!! I am so exhausted...you have to know me when we go on trips or planned vacations we go, go, go...No R & R for us...No sir!!
I had over 600 photos...got that narrowed down some what and will blog them over the next few days...I will also put most of them up on my flickr site too.
But I thought I would give you a few to look at for the moment..
These are photos from the Downtown Houston Aquarium, which we visted on our first day in Houston, April 24.

I love photos from the photo booths and seldom do we do it...but with Grammie's help we got Fred in there with us...as you can see Michael and I were having fun...it was a tight squeeze with the 3 of us in there but we had fun and I liked some of the photos...lol

Fountain at the Aquarium with the Downtown Houston Skyline.

Michael and Fred riding the lighthouse dive ride...I can see Michael is going to be my little thrill seeker...NOT me...that will be Daddy's job, lol.

Lion fish.

I really had a hard time with photos in the aquarium. I did not want to use my flash due to reflections and wash outs...but I did manage a few decent photos and of course I didn't take my tripod either, ugh!!

Michael (being silly), Wendy and Grammie at the end of our tour and still smiling...
