Lydia Digi layout Challenge

~

Lydia May 2010
I love how this turned out...
~
Here I sit with a back that doesn't like me today and Mosquito's swarming outside so what to do?
I was reading my emails and saw Merkley Designs at Oscraps was having a challenge with her embossing items...I have a few as I think they're pretty sweet but haven't used them, ekk...I suppose this was the inspiration to use them. If you click on the photo you should get a larger picture of the layout and see the embossed overlays I used on the paper and photo.
If you want to check out the challenge as there are some freebies

Macro in the Morning...

I saw this tree frog on the chicks pen first thing this morning and decided for some handheld Macro photos...Isn't he gorgeous, just love his color!

Eyes and toes...

Then I decided to walk around the yard and see what I could find...Grasshoppers, lots and lots of them....I've treated the yard to keep them out but on the fence and out in the pasture there are thousands upon thousands of them....

Wild Morning Glory...

False dandelion, this and the frog are my favorite for the day!

Eye-balling a moths eye!

Please Lord let me have chicken for lunch :o)

Lydia is officially outside now and in the mornings she is hilarious to watch...bouncing, running, pouncing, biting, climbing...I'm exhausted just watching her and from laughing at her antics too...getting a photo when she's in this mood is not easy either...Above she stopped for a moment!

Easter Beauty

WooHoo some photos from Easter, lol. Karolina and Alexandra hunting Easter eggs.
~
My girlfriend Jen (Jen Maddocks Designs) has been on a roll lately and has a lot of new items. I was excited and had to stop everything today to take time out and do a layout...I love it!
~
She also will have a surprise for everyone soon too...I'm so excited for her...So stay tuned to her blog for future news!!
Yea JEN!!

"To be in your children's or Grand-Children's memories tomorrow, you have to be in their lives today"!

Chicks and their new home...

This was actually something Fred was suppose to do as he is the one that wanted more chickens but since he didn't have time I did it...It's not perfect but it will work. We plan on putting it over a little house for them and then later building a coop for them. Yes I have a coop but it's not big enough for all the chicks and hens...So glad this is done!! I love it because it's not very heavy and I can move it on my own when I need too...

Crazy Weather...

The weather has been a bit crazy lately...This past weekend we received 7 inches of rain and then last night it got a wee bit nasty....

Hail...I was looking at my truck and crying!

It was wicked looking out...

She survived the hail, thank goodness no damage or broken windows!

Here comes the sun....

And a rainbow.
Then later in the night we had another storm come through, but it missed us...a neighboring county had tornado warnings, ekk. I sat outside and watched a beautiful lightening show and was really glad it passed us by. We received another 1/2 inch of rain, it's time to mow the yard!

This was the sunrise this morning, gorgeous!

Even the sky looking West this morning was beautiful!

Sundays nature photos...

We went over to Mom and Dad's ranch to drop off the auger and I was privileged to have about 15 minutes for a quick walk and photos...

The San Antonio River, flooding but not bad so far...

Caterpillar (butterfly)

Rapid Wolf Spider

Texas Crescentspot

Argiope, love the web!

I saw this butterfly and thought why is it hanging upside down. I reached down to see what the problem was when I spotted the spider...Hmm seems somebody was busy with lunch...The green bulb like thing is the spider and possibly an orb or goldenrod spider.

A tadpole just turned frog...It's not the greatest photo as I was using the telephoto lens but they were so tiny and cute I had to share.

Bordered Patch

Caterpillar (moth)

I used the Sigma Telephoto 70-300mm lens today. Wish I'd had my Macro lens but it was just to hot to take the backpack...Most of these photos were taken in a 100 yd radius as I didn't have much time to walk far but at least I got a few :o)

Queen Lydia rules....

She has managed to put Ralph, KitCat and Jake in their places. It is so funny that a wee itty bitty kitten rules over the much larger animals in the household...But she's done it and she's even in the process of training the humans too, ekkk

How can you resist this cute adorable face?
Believe me it's really hard...really hard and she has even managed to grab a little chunk of Fred's heart ♥

Yes she's sitting in a chair in the house...ugh! She actually stays in a crate on the front porch but I feel for her so she comes in now and then for some cuddles and playtime...(p.s. Fred had gone to bed, (can you hear me chuckling?).

Poor Jake...he wants to play...Lydia she wants to beat him up!!
KitCat is pissed, Ralph is indifferent and Jake is frustrated that she keeps hissing and batting at him...I honestly forgot how entertaining kittens can be. There has been a lot of laughter in our house this evening. Lydia has yet to learn that she can not defy gravity!

Oh and this purple & pink mouse is her favorite...She shakes it, Kills it, and throws it all over the place...
