Spirit week parade and Pep Rally, a little part of South Texas...

Michael's school, actually all the different schools held a parade and Pep rally today! The kids were all so excited and hyped up!

All the different grades had a theme for the parade but the main theme was "Say No to Drugs!"

Michael was in the bike riders

He was so excited and oh so happy!

Whoosh, he's gone...

The beginning of the Pep Rally

Some very rowdy kids and quite a scene...

Loved how they held the parade and Pep Rally downtown. The kids had so much fun!

A few photos of Goliad's downtown this morning...

I had some time this morning in Goliad and thought I'd walk around the town square...

Goliad County Courthouse with the restored clock tower and turrets.
Date - 1894
Architect - English architect Alfred Giles
Style - Second Empire
Material - Stone and brick
The building originally had a clock tower and turrets that were removed in a 1942 hurricane. They were finally replaced in 2003. An earlier tornado in 1902 forced the courthouse to be used as a hospital and morgue.

There is more to this story but we'll save it for another day...

And once again walking at Goliad State Park

Tonight I walked the river trail at Goliad State Park. They call it the river trail but there are only one or two spots where you can actually see the river...

Sycamore tree, really tall and oh so beautiful.

San Antonio River

There is a story here. This Hwy overpass goes over the trail at one point. Goliad State Park is next to a major Hwy and it's quite noisy with all the traffic.

The first time I walked under this over pass and I looked up I thought why and who put those huge limbs and branches up there??

Then after a few minutes it dawned on me, Wow! Those are up there due to flood waters, yikes! I figure that overpass is 20ft over my head...

And the river, way way down there is about 20 ft down that bank! That is 40 ft of water, gulp! That is a lot of water! It just amazes me how high flood waters can get and the power behind them!

This is what I've been doing during the day, mowing/shredding and clearing brush! If I can figure out how to get rid of the grass/sand burrs, as nothing we've tried has worked, we hope to plant Coastal in this field. I have the back pasture to mow/shred and then I need to move to the house and do that area...It's never ending.

Been Busy...

I've been avoiding the camera because if I pick it up I never accomplish any of my tasks for the day!

This weekend we went to an Auction and I bid and won the bid for this whimsical birdhouse! I love it and it fits right in with the pool area!

This evenings sunset...

Then I turned around and looking East towards the Gulf of Mexico I saw this cloud bank, too Cool!

Hope y'all had a Great Monday!
