The Roseate Skimmer Dragonfly

Haven't done much of anything today...but I did manage this photo of a dragonfly....When I saw it I thought of my dear friend Helen and that she loves the color purple...well it may not be a fully purple dragonfly but it was close, lol....One of my desires was to have a decent camera that would take photos of dragonflys and other insects and certainly looks like I have it!!

I was up early this morning and there was a heavy fog at about 8am it lifted and I noticed there were water droplets on the spider webs outside...I couldn't resist and grabbed the camera. Here are a few of the better photos...

Port Lavaca Lighthouse Beach Park

We had storytime today and then an appt. at the Dodge dealership in Port Lavaca. We had plenty of time before the appt. so we went to the Lighthouse Beach Park in Port Lavaca. They have a board walk and Large Gazebo out over the water that is pretty nice. I wanted to try to get some decent photos of the wildlife and birds there. It was early afternoon and quiet HOT so we didn't stay long....but below are some of the photos I took.

It's a crab that is for sure and Michael pointed these out to me...the ones I was looking at kept darting in their holes and I wasn't having much luck getting photos...

As you can see the one above was getting ready to dive in...

The bird above is either a Dowitcher, or Godwit...I am not really up on my shore birds...lol

Raindrops and Spiders

I was bored today and decided to go outside after a recent rain shower and see what I could come up with photo wise...

I spotted the butterfly first and wondered what was wrong with it and then I saw the spider and the whole story came to life...LUNCH!! I love that you can see the hair on the spiders legs and actually see the fangs in the butterfly...sweet!!

Trey's Graduation
