This one was taken at the show by the company that runs the show...Not the greatest but a memory none the less...

Hummers and Chicks!

I was outside this evening trying to get photos of the bluebirds when I saw two different hummingbirds with white on their wings...below is one of them! The lighting was a bit harsh but you can see the white on the ones wing...

I'm pretty sure they are female rubythroats but I just thought it was neat seeing white on the wings...I'll definitely be able to tell those apart from the others...I didn't have much luck with the bluebirds. Julie decided to walk in on them while they were feeding on bugs and scared them away...I won't give up and I am still looking for that painted bunting too!
Someone was asking me how the baby chicks were doing....
They aren't baby chicks anymore...more in the teenage stage now!! We let them out in the yard every evening and sit and watch them...for entertainment and to keep an eye out for predators too! After watching them I am thinking we may have 4 roosters and 3 hens, sigh! But we honestly won't know until they are a bit bigger. I was hoping for more hens but if there is only 3 that won't be so bad...We'll keep one of the roosters and maybe someday have some baby chicks to increase the flock, lol...Oh the joys of chicken ranching, ekk....

Michael seems a bit better today. He came home from school early Monday and was sicker than a dog! His throat is pretty sore and red but no more fever or vomiting, Yea!! I am sure the antibiotics will help his throat. His Doctor decided to try him on Allegra for his allergies. If that doesn't work then we'll discuss other options. I think the next option will be steroid nasal spray and I am so hoping the Allegra works for him.

I am so glad all this happened on Monday so the antibiotics kick in before tomorrow evening...We have a big evening planned and we are all so excited...Well Michael, Helen and Ashley are excited, lol...we are going to Disney on Ice in Corpus!! YEA!! Even our husbands are going with us!! Yea Daddy's!! One big family affair and hopefully an exciting show to boot!!

Y'all have a good rest of your week!!

Friday Morning Walk Part II

I really need to spend more time with the Wildflowers while they are in their prime bloom time...The ankle is healing and if Michael gets over his sickness maybe I can...ahh wouldn't that be nice...A tripod would be helpful on the next round too!

Spotted Beebalm or Horsemint surrounded by Phlox.

Yucca in bloom.

A closer view of the Yucca with dew on the bloom...

Indian Blanket

Sensitive Brier...I just love these blooms. Fireworks of Nature!
I really need the tripod for this one!

Well that was it for last Friday morning. I didn't even try for birds. I heard a lot of different birds and even saw a lesser goldfinch, which was beautiful. But I decided to stick with the Macro lens. I'm happy with the results!!

Friday Morning Walk Part l

I took so Many photos Friday Morning it was hard to just choose a few to share...so consider this Part 1...There was dew on the flowers and it was so sweet...These were taken with the Macro lens and no tripod...if you want a closer look click on the photo.

I promised you pigs and here they are...it was quiet a surprise to me too!!
I was watching the snake (pictured below) when I heard something come down the path and YIKES!! It was two Momma hogs and they're little ones...Yes I took photos but stayed as quiet as possible and looked for the best tree to climb just in case...lol...Thank goodness they didn't notice me and after getting a drink and taking a short bath they went over to the other side of the creek and left...Whew!! That was a close call!

This was the snake I was watching...A Blotched Water Snake!
He was harmless well at least to me, not to sure about the itty bitty fishes!!

Wildflowers, Wildflowers, Wildflowers....

It's really hard NOT to take photos and even harder trying to decide which photos to share...I hope you enjoyed them and weren't too bored :o)

Look what we did today.........

Yep, Yep, YEP!! We built a NEW Yard GATE!!
I didn't take before and after photos and probably should have but the old gate was being held together with a rope and prayer so I bet you get an idea of how bad it was...It was a good ol'e gate and lasted 2 yrs...Now to keep Julie from using this one as a personal rear-end scratching post and it might just last a bit longer....
There is something pretty about a new freshly painted gate...
BEAUTIFUL!!

Flowers for Mom...

I took these photos a week ago so my Mother could see how the flowers were doing here at the house...Sorry it's a bit late Mom but better late than never...
Enjoy!
