I'm BAD!!

But HOW can I RESIST that FACE, That LOOK, Those EYES!!

My Green eyed Monster!

Got a NEW Bike today, yep I broke down and said what the Hay!! He didn't even know I was thinking about getting him one...I let him ride 3 different bikes around the store and this one fit him the best....I then walked around the store telling myself NO NO NO....Then he saw the bb guns and I said HECK NO!! I weighed the pro's and con's on the bike and asked Michael do you want that bike you rode...he didn't even say yes just started running back towards the bikes, lol...guess that meant Yes...When we were at the check out paying for it he looked at me with that sheepish grin and said "I Love you Momma". Ahh well now maybe we'll get some exercise.
This afternoon I took him into town and he rode it around on the sidewalks and did really well. Only fell over once...Tonight we went down the driveway. A bit tougher due to the holes and gravel but he did pretty good. He'd fall over and get back up and go again. I'll continue to help him for a few days until he gets the hang of it and then I'll get my bike out...or either ride Julie along with him...No arguments from him on the helmet either, YEA!!

I came back inside for some water and happened to look out the kitchen window and saw a fawn out back...I tried to get some decent photos but just too far for my camera and then it didn't help taking it through the window...but you can see her spots.

Below is her Momma and if you look closely the fawn is under her nursing...
So call me Bad for buying my son a bike but I honestly believe he'll have fun with it this summer and maybe we can do some bike rides together...or he can ride with me when I ride Julie...

Gladys Porter Zoo ~ Brownsville Texas

Whew...The Zoo photos are here...this is just a small portion of the photos, the rest of them are on my flickr site...Enjoy!!
White Pelican

The new LOVE in my LIFE!! I am not sure if this was a boy or girl gorilla but it liked me and I liked him/her...She wouldn't come up to the window display when Fred and Michael were there but when I came up she/he jumped right up there. She/He wanted me to groom her/him but it was kind of hard to do through the glass...Fred took photos. They aren't the greatest photos but I'll treasure them always...I left my heart at the Gladys Porter Zoo, sigh!

Most of you that know me also know that my son NEVER poses for me. He hates my camera and when I bring it out he runs the other way screaming...Well never say never....he found this lion statue at the Zoo and asked if I would take photos of him, I almost choked!! Of course I said Yes and snapped away...he was cracking us up as he was really getting into posing for the camera!!

I think my favorite animals at the Zoo (except for the sweet little Gorilla) is the Giraffes.

Then we have Mr. Stripes the Zebra!

A Rhino.

Once again Michael was posing for the camera on a statue of a Saltwater Croc.

A snowy Egret

This Tree was awesome and Not one I would ever want to climb.

A golden crowned Crane, if I remember correctly?

Peek a Boo behind the turtles butt! LOL

A black Mamba...( I think that is how it is spelled and what it is), one of the worlds deadlist snakes and very beautiful too.

The rest of my Zoo photos are at my flickr site, just too many to post here...We really enjoyed the Gladys Porter Zoo. Fred even thought it was better than the Houston Zoo...I think so too!!

That is all for our Vacation photos....Over 500 photos and it took me 10 hours today to go through them and post them...Hope everyone enjoyed our vacation, we did!!

Jack Rabbit. I spotted this guy from our Hotel Balcony. It was mid-morning and I was surprised to see him out and about...they are normally nocturnal. Just love those BIG ears.

There are more Misc. photos on my flickr site...

Pirates Landing ~ Port Isabel

On our last night in S. Padre we decided to go eat dinner over in Port Isabel. There was a restaurant right by the bridge/causeway called Pirates landing. I'm so glad we decided to go as we had quiet a bit of fun...Ahoy Matey!

Me pirate boys waiting for their food!

S. Padre Island Convention Center and Boardwalk

Right across from our Hotel was the South Padre Island Convention Center and Birding Boardwalk. I was stunned by all the different types of birds and the murals painted on the building.
Next to the Convention Centre and Whaling Wall No. 53, the Laguna Madre Nature Trail is a 1,500-foot boardwalk that extends across four acres of wetlands. Containing informative signs about dune systems and bird species that frequent the area, the nature trail provides visitors with the opportunity to observe many species of birds and other wildlife in their natural habitat. The idea of the Laguna Madre Nature Trail was conceived by naturalist Ed Hawkins. It is dedicated to his memory. Both the Whaling Wall and nature trail are always open to the public free of charge and can be accessed through the circle driveway leading up to the Convention Centre.

Redwing blackbird

Type of Sandpiper possibly a Dowitcher?

A boy peeking over the edge looking at fish, lol.

A crab crawling on the Pier.

Reddish Egret in Dark Morph

Immature Blue Heron.

This, I think, is a warbler. Now as to what kind I haven't a clue and I am tired of looking, lol. If you have a clue to what type of bird this is let me know, I'd appreciate it! The photo below is of the same bird.

I really enjoyed the boardwalk and wish I would have had more time to spend there taking photos and identify the birds. Fred and Michael patiently waited in the truck for me to finish up, Yikes....There are more photos on my flickr site.

Bocha Chica Beach Texas

Here are a few photos from our visit to Boca Chica. I really enjoyed going there and lots of neat shells...It was really hazy when we went and the photos were not the greatest...

Blue Heron scavanging on the beach.

A view of the beach, it's pretty wild and untamed. Sorry to say but lots of trash too, but still a pretty place.

Daddy and Michael checking something out...

Father and Son doing a bit of beachcombing. We did manage to get Michael out of the truck for a little bit...lol
