Detail showing some of the lace. The other bits of texture were made from a painting brush - the painted outer edge of the handle crumbled away while I was using it so used those bits too.

Trees and Lace Landscape
It's been a long time since I painted on canvas but I got the urge after seeing the work of Elf2mani on Pinterest. I started by trying to copy it but then went in my own direction so it doesn't look exactly the same [I wouldn't know how to do it the same anyway]. Check out her work, she combines various items and fabrics in her work, there are some lovely pictures with spoons.

A Blast from the Past
We decided to have a clear out in our loft including my old City and Guilds [embroidery] college work and I came across these two Christmas cards in a file. The spikes were made with wide gold ribbon I think although I cannot remember how I made it. I think they maybe called Prairie points. The green card is only about 3" high.
Another item I came across were these earrings which I quite like although I don't wear earrings so I won't be wearing them. Goldwork - beads, cord net.
I rather liked this little poppy picture, hand painted fabric and embroidery
Another card, also handpainted fabric and embroidery.
Another picture with various textures and embroidery
And this textured tree which has now gone with the rubbish collection today. Layered leaves, wool was used for the grass.
I did get rid of quite a bit of stuff, mainly files with paper, samples and lots of empty boxes.

WIP - Birds, Texture and Embroidery
Eight bird collages.
The backing paper was some waste paper from another project, from that long ago I can't remember the project. I like the pictures but I think they would look better with machine embroidery which I may do eventually.
This is a sheet of watercolour paper to which I have applied some raised letters by using olden course molding paste and a plastic stencil. Then sprayed with a couple of different colours of ink. What to do next? Draw? More paint effects? Collage?
This is my whitework embroidery coming along. There is a LOT of stitching on this.

WIP - Textured Art Quilt
Another small A4 art quilt with a landscape them.
I textured the fabric with Golden course molding paste and bits from a page of a book. Colour was added with inktense blocks. I quilted it with bamboo wadding and backing fabric and stitched some basic lines on the hills and around the trees on a sewing machine. It needs a lot more quilting but will my sewing machine like going through the paste for any length of time.

Last pages from Sketchbook 16
It's a funny old day today, it seems to be cold one minute and hot the next. This morning I was sat outside drinking coffee, this afternoon I was picking hail stones off the bed! They had blown in through the open window while we were having a windy deluge and thunder and lightning. It is sunny again now.
I added texture to the pages by transferring parts of a newspaper supplement page with a glue stick, by pulling it off before it is stuck properly. This leaves a trace of the page which I painted over with watercolours. I used a pen to draw on the houses and trees.

Circles
More pictures with circles for the sketchbook challenge
Oh and the rabbit from yesterday - his face is part of an old slipper, washed of course. So he's nearly all made from footwear.

Feathers in the Sky and more pages from my sketchbook
There were some interesting things in the sky yesterday. I could hear a lot of planes - the Sunderland Air Show was on - but I also saw these feathers in the sky, well clouds but they look like feathers. Click on the images to enlarge.
More pages from sketchbook 16
There were also a lot of bees and wasps flying around yesterday too, but I only saw one like this.
