Stencils, Clay and Gelli Prints

I designed these cut-outs to use as stencils. They were cut on a digital cutting machine then used with paints as shown below..
Below are the bits left on the cutting mat, which also makes a nice pattern.
I went to a crafty workshop last Saturday and we made tags and tree decorations with air dry clay. We used cookie cutters for the shapes for the most part and stamps for marks.
My husband says that kids do that, he's right but we still had fun.

We also did some Gelli printing using old magazines and gelli printing plates. It wasn't totally successful but I'm sure the prints could be used for further development although it was only inkjet paper so not that good as background paper.

I'm linking with Paint Party Friday.

Handmade Sketchbook - Pages 8-15

I used one of my round cutouts as a stencil.

The rabbit cut out is not my design. I filled the spaces with Glossy Accents.

The trouble with painting on envelopes is that the paint bleeds thru.

I used the cut out from a greetings card as a stencil for this tree.
Handmade sketchbook.
Mixed media.
Painted, stamped, art work and inkjet prints of art work. Drawings. Cut work. Stencils.
Reused envelopes, book pages, recycled greetings cards, waste from cutting machine, sequins

Wooden Heart

I bought a wooden heart which I altered for the happy couple. I used Golden coarse molding paste to make the raised letters with a card stencil I made. I used my Zing cutter to cut out the stencil. Then paint and a bit of roughing up.

Sketchbook 36, the first few pages

I started this book in May [8.5"x 6"], I used stencils for the shapes, they were in a children's book I got from Wilkinson's, a book full of stencils, cheap too.

I bought some Letraset Aquamarkers a couple of months ago and I got some more for a birthday present in May. This shows all the colours I have now. One end of the marker is thick and the other not as thick.
I've still not decided whether I like them or not, they're supposed to work like watercolours but they don't for me. Perhaps I need more practice.
Mixed media- wax crayons, watercolour, found image of tiger, letraset numbers.
I used the aquamarkers for this picture, the flower on the left is a real one.

Heart and Wedding

I've been away for a few days in case you had not noticed.
Firstly I went to the wedding of my nephew Carl and his now wife, Jen at Clearwell Castle in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. I made the heart as a keepsake, [the WIP last week] first I stencilled with a doily, then embroidered and beaded on one side, stitched together and stuffed. I thought I would leave the back with just the stencilling.

I'll not show pictures of people at the wedding but I took a picture of the view through the window while we were waiting for the bride.

Back of chair decoration.

Lovely grounds, a half frozen pond, there were ducks in the unfrozen parts. We had a little snow, some fell to earth as the wedding photos were being taken - looked like confetti.

A view of the castle from the pond

Chair Stencil

Above - the finished picture
I started with a photo of a chair and my challenge was to make a stencil
I drew the chair, then simplified it to make a stencil, I used it both sides to make facing chairs. The background was painted and it was collaged to a doodle in a sketchbook.
The ladies in the finished picture were added digitally.
They were from a Women Archive book.
